Chapter 150: Chapter 37: My Butler
Their hands carried curved daggers that were suited to gouge the inner organs of victims and tear the wounds so even the most powerful regeneration was inhibited as Lancelot lowered his body without his sword.
He would trust his martial arts and fight until his flesh was torn and his organs burst!
"Come!"
"You face Lancelot, Lord of Camelot."
I can see those overconfident men haven't moved first. It's only the mere peons that are attacking!
So let me crush you fucking cultist scum!
The fact was, both Lancelot and the men hadn't accounted for one thing...
Squelch!
Lancelot wasn't just a demon!
The sound of flesh being torn and organs crushed like an orange pressed between two stones as Lancelot's hand in the form of a knife penetrated two of the cultists, tearing through their light cloth armour.
His sharp fingers tore their flesh and cracked ribcage to destroy their hearts as black dragon scales began to cover his fingers.
The scales grew the more his heart raced, and his desire to fight to the end pounded in his chest.
His dragon emperor had blood through his body that was no longer contained by the demon blood they had already sealed.
"Shit!? He's not sealed!"
"Hurry, crush his heart!" Another cultist shouted as he tried to stab the abdomen of Lancelot, who headbutted one of the youngest cultists, bursting their face and skull open like a watermelon or coconut dropped from a huge building.
"Hahaha!" The laughter from his mouth was distorted and deep as he didn't stop his movement.
Rough, filled with brutal power and lacking his usual elegance but with twice the power, he smashed another cultist who tried to stab his waist with a close line, snapping the man's neck as he rotated in the air and smashed against the ground.
Lancelot fought these weaker cultists who probably practised a demonic path similar to the darkness faction of Avalon. Their weakness was that they were mostly ordinary humans who practised a demonic path of assassination!
"Your training isn't good enough to deal with the real world—you pathetic maggots!"
The sudden surge of strength from Lancelot made these once arrogant men grow panicked as their dagger work was lacking in front of the brute monster they captured.
His body, completely covered in black scales, began to kill the mere acolytes as the three men shook their heads in the back, watching him snap their necks with a single hand or crush their legs with a sweeping kick.
"This damn kid is far stronger than the client said..." A deep, hoarse voice uttered before taking out an old, rusted sword around seventy centimetres long.
"Do we, old me, really have to fight a young cub barely a month or two into Avalon... Ah, what a shame he didn't have the talent to join us."
The cultist took out a huge axe despite his modest speech, seeming to feel sorry for Lancelot.
Yet Lancelot ignored their theatrics as he killed the remaining acolytes and faced these three figures—although he was unable to release ether, he could still use it to empower his muscles, bones and these black scales, and now that the pressure holding him was gone due to the deaths of many weaker assassins...
He planned to escape!
These guys seem to have made a mistake and didn't properly seal me, giving me a chance to survive.
But I cannot count on victory against them, a short battle maybe even, but for now, I need to find a way out... this huge church, where is the exit?
However, he was misunderstanding...
These men wouldn't even give him that time as the first male slashed across his neck, the black scales barely enough to stop his head from dropping onto the floor as blood oozed down the black slates.
Shit!? What is that speed? My eyes could barely see, and I relied totally on my hearing!
Lancelot roared in pain as his scale was split vertically along with his neck wound before another person moved, a beautiful woman who swung an ornate whip covered in demonic markings along the whip, causing the hair on his skin to rise in fear!
"Dragon emperor bloodline... Oh, dear boy, if you had joined us, you could have become a great assassin and maybe even surpassed us old people..."
How does she know so easily!?
Snap!
Lancelot dodged the whip, but as it moved through the air, it left marks on the wall like it was cutting reality itself... Such horror made his blood run cold before he decided to risk it all and try to land a hit on one of them to escape.
Focus! This is my life!
Woosh!
Not giving him even the correct time to think, a huge axe cut through the air and cleaved half his chest and scales like nothing, cracking them as they scattered to the floor.
"Damnit!?" Lancelot jumped back to avoid the follow-up, rising axe blow, but it only allowed the female behind him to use her whip, lashing at his back as his flesh was torn open.
An unbearable pain spread through his entire body, as there seemed to be spikes and thorns inside his back, tearing apart his flesh and muscles despite her whip long leaving his body.
Fuck... What are these guys?
Just as he wondered how to escape... the roof shuddered, like something was clashing with a huge barrier, before the entire steeple collapsed, huge rocks and debris dropping down on the four.
"Master Lancelot, forgive this worthless butler's delayed assistance."
It was Sebastian—his body landed without sound as he looked at the three cultists, without emotion and with his hands behind his back. He watched them with a completely spotless suit.
"Now, what business do you three have with my master?"
There was no ether coming from Sebastian's body, but his tall frame and wide shoulders seemed to not be for show as Lancelot leaned against the broken tower to recover.
"..."
"Who the fuck is this old man?"
"A butler?" The woman's whip snapped as she jumped forward first to attack.
"Forgive me, young lady, but my wife would be very jealous of you, and I can only greet you accordingly."
Sebastian tilted his head while twisting to avoid her whip's double strike before his powerful leg smashed into her jaw, destroying the entire lower part of her face as it exploded messily.
Boom!
He kicked her head off her body entirely before his gloved hands struck like a snake and ripped out her heart, crushing it slowly... Lancelot could even hear the disgusting squelch and crunching sound as Sebastian stepped past her fallen corpse and began changing his gloves to a new, perfect pair.
"As for the gentleman wielding the axe—please do not take offence, but this old man must return in time for dinner with his cute granddaughter."
The second cultist, who seemed to be stunned at Sebastian's display of brutality, roared, swinging his axe like a madman as the air shattered around him.
"Die, Butler!"
The giant wave of energy forced Lancelot to feel the power and word for the idle Sebastian, who didn't even move. Yet the dust and ether cleared instantly, and only one man stood.
Thud!
Sebastian's hand seemed to be holding the man's heart!
The final cultist, seeing this, looked at Sebastian, who approached him while ripping apart the heart, tossing it to the floor as Lancelot noticed he was healing the last attack from the whip...
"Apologies, young master Lancelot—I would like to question the last gentlemen on who hired them to capture you. Do you allow this?"
"Of course, good work, Sebastian."
Lancelot wiped the blood leaking from his mouth and scratched his nose nervously, realising Sebastian's ferocity and his recklessness had nearly saved his ass, but this old man...
No wonder it was so scary for me when I mentioned his granddaughter marrying me!
Meanwhile, the male with a sword felt his heart sink—now, with an even paler face, he stepped back slowly; like Lancelot, minutes ago, he was looking to escape.
"Gentleman of the sword, would you please do me the honour of telling me your client?"
"Fuck, you know I cannot tell, or I will die."
Sebastian changed his gloves once more like he had a disease for cleanliness or something, "That is a shame, but sir. You do know that you die either way, right?"
His words froze the cultist's soul... No matter whether he talked or refused, he realised that death was inevitable, but Sebastian allowed him to choose a method to die that did not involve his secrets getting revealed...
"Very well, I will talk—those fuckers got my sister executed; I can't betray the order; it was a teacher from that fucking academy.... he was strange and creepy... Garfield? Gammon...? Gawain! It was that old man with a perverted face.
Gawain!"
Sebastian nodded and gestured for Lancelot to turn away, listening to the poor swordsman scream... His blood-curdling cries and the sound of bones breaking filled the small area, followed by what seemed to be organs being crushed as the male still whimpered for forgiveness...
When Lancelot turned back, Sebastian was cleaning his gloves, while the last cultist had no head or body. Instead, only a pile of dust remained as Lancelot looked at this terrifying old man and nodded his thanks.
"Thank you, Sebastian, for saving me."
"Young master, you truly are making this old man proud. I am here to serve you when you are in need. Headmaster Merlin was the one who asked me to guard you tightly—he is aware of the plots against you and is protecting Lady Guinevere and Miss Sumika himself."
With a flick of his wrists and gloves, the old man simply gave a faint smile as the entire entrance of the cultist church vanished... like a bomb exploded.
"Now then, young master, are you going home or for a drink at the local pub with Lord Edward?"
"What...?"
Lancelot was in a slight daze looking at his plain-looking butler, who just easily destroyed the enemies that might have killed him like a dog...
My butler is too strong! Damn, this old man is way too cool!
