Chapter 28 An Unlucky Man
Who?
Everyone stood frozen to their cores as their eyes darted back and forth vigilantly.
Elder Odao and Elder Medina, who were about to head back into the town, also stood rooted on the spot as countless thoughts swept through their minds.
There was an enemy nearby, and they didn't even seize it?
Everyone's thoughts were all over the place as they wondered who was the owner of the mysterious voice.
Soon, they immediately spotted someone slowly walking towards the town from the roads.
A traveler?
This person approached the town from outside as if he had just come from a long journey. So they instantly thought he was a traveler.
Maybe he was a powerful figure who came here to pass the night or something.
But why did they seem to have the shittiest luck ever? (?~?)
On such an important night as this one, there was no room for errors.
Now, since this person had seen them, then what if he reports the matter later on?
Right now, they didn't know if he was a friend or foe.
And, soon, the guards here would be waking up.
F***!
Things just got more complicated.
But who was this strange traveler?
They hadn't seen the person's face because of the darkness yet.
Everyone squinted their eyes in full concentration as they focused on the approaching traveler.
Every step the enemy took towards them made their hearts thump loudly.
'Com'on! Show yourself, traveler!'
Their entire thoughts were on the traveler. And soon, the person got close enough to the bright far-ranged Talisman lights kept around the town gates.
The traveler's legs slowly got revealed by the light, followed by his upper body and finally his face.
Eh?
(°∆°)
Everyone had a face of disbelief when they saw who the traveler was.
Could they have read things wrong?
At this range, they determined the traveler's age from his breaths and almost collapsed.
How could this be?
How could he be so young?
Impossible!!!
They refused to believe it.
They had been cultivating for decades and decades of years, yet a 16-year-old traveler was better than them?
Or could it be that he was a mortal?
No... But how could a mortal's voice transmit so far?
Maybe they didn't notice him because he was far away from their search ranges.
Or, maybe he had some strange artifact with him.
Hey looked at the traveler and felt really entangled, thinking about whether he was mortal or some strong cultivator.
But his age made them weak.
They thought it would be some elite person who had lived for decades and not a stinking kid.
What the hell was going on here?
.
Time was younger on their side.
They had to act fast if they wanted to get away.
Deep down, they didn't believe that they would lose to a 16-year-old brat.
Even if he were cultivating in his mother's womb, it would be impossible to reach their level.
The best probably had some artifact on him.
Having such an artifact meant that he probably came from a very influential family. So he might also have an artifact that reveals the image of the person who killed him.
If it were someone else, they might be stuck on this matter for long.
But who were they?
They were members of Black Valley.
Medina and Odao's eyes flashed with greed as they looked at Chu Che as if he were a bag of money.
"Boy!... Where we're going to and what we want to do, is none of your business. That said, you're truly an unlucky star for you to wander into this town when you did."
"Little imp! Blame mother for giving birth to an unlucky star like you. Tonight, you die! Natarajas! Dance for him!"
~Swish!
Instantly, 4 Nataraja men and women stepped forward gracefully: "Dance of Destruction!"
~Swish!
A gentle wind slowly blew across the place as the Natarajas started moving around in a circle while using their hands, feet, hips, and other body parts to express their intent.
First, they began their hypnosis in order to gain Chu Che's attention and trap his mind in his own body.
With this, he wouldn't be able to think for himself again.
His body would no longer be his.
But, rather than getting mad and feeling helpless, the fool would be happy instead.
And so it began.
.
Smiling gracefully while acting like dancing serpents, the Natarajas swung their hips, lifted their hands, and leaned to the side as per the dance steps.
They made it look easy.
But in truth, their dance was one of the hardest to get done. And so far, they haven't even tapped into 80% of what the dance could really do.
Those who get overly enlightened could make people's brains fry with just one way of the hips.
But only those in the higher realms could possibly do that.
So one could imagine how hard these Natarajas had to train.
Any missed dance step could lead to a backlash.
Some Natarajas had ended up putting themselves in a trance during battle before due to their errors
Of course for them, they typically woke up after 5~ 15 minutes, no matter what error they made.
At least, it was better than staying several hours in a trance.
Their every move was like a ritual, drawing qi from the grounds by creating patterns through their dance.
They called upon the heavens and drained qi for battle. So they dared not make any mistakes during any dance.
As they smiled and danced warmly, they noticed that Chu Che stared at them with a broad smile on his face, nodding and swinging his head in enjoyment.
Their eyes lit up as they secretly chuckled victoriously.
It looked like they were worried for nothing.
Their dance can only affect those with the same cultivation as them or lower. So they had already concluded that he was indeed weaker than them.
Seeing this, Medina and Odao were even more thrilled.
If he was weaker than their subordinates, then how could he be a match for them?
As expected, they were worried for nothing.
'Boy! You have no one but yourself to blame! Who asked you to travel at this time of the night?'
