Chapter 842: Empyrean Mu and Great Dream Lord
"Ancestral Land?" Feng Yao pouted at the mention of the words and glanced at Yun Xiao beside her.
She knew that the little white tiger had arrived at the Heavenly Deity Stellar River ahead of them and had joined a sect called the Ancestral Land.
At these words, Yun Xiao's mind conjured the image of that snow-white girl, breathtaking in her beauty. A few days apart felt like three long years.
"I wonder how she's faring in that Ancestral Land," Yun Xiao thought. He wasn't too worried about her safety; she carried her own fortune and means, and her temperament was far more mature than Feng Yao's.
Seeing the wistful look on his face, Feng Yao knew he was thinking of her again. A tinge of jealousy stirred within her, but she knew she couldn't control him. She turned to Hai Qing and asked, "Sister, why does this celestial sect called the Ancestral Land want to ally with us?"
Hai Qing replied, "Perhaps because they don't get along with the Southern Divine Dragon Realm. I've heard the Southern Divine Dragon Realm is close to the Ancestral Land, and there's been much strife between them."
"The Nine Yin Soul Sea is the same—they have disputes with the Southern Divine Dragon Realm too. But..." Hai Yu furrowed her delicate brows. "Even with those disputes, it's unexpected they'd take the initiative to seek an alliance with our Harmony Divine Palace."
"Yes, didn't they say all members of the Heavenly Deity Alliance unanimously passed a resolution requiring us to make it into the top ten? Could it be that the Ancestral Land and Nine Yin Soul Sea didn't agree?" Hai Ying bit her lip, looking displeased.
"I don't know. We'll understand once we meet mother," Hai Qing said softly, urging the nine of them forward to where the three Divas awaited.
The three Divas stood atop a snowy peak on the Extreme Yin Star."I wonder if your little white tiger came to the Grand Assembly of Myriad Sects this time," Feng Yao whispered into Yun Xiao's ear as they walked.
"How would I know?" Yun Xiao replied.
"Missing her terribly, aren't you?" Feng Yao teased, pouting.
"Mind your own business. What's it to you, little maid?" Yun Xiao retorted.
"Hmph." Feng Yao glared at him, grumbling inwardly, "Just moments ago, he was boldly declaring me as his woman and now, at the mere mention of the little white tiger, he treats me like a maid again!"
Soon, the nine of them flew upward and landed atop the snowy peak.
Yun Xiao gazed ahead. Wan Ji, Yu Ji, and Si Ji… the three beautiful Immortal women stood amidst the swirling snow. Their profound cultivation and refined demeanor lent them an aura both majestic and untouchable, yet they also possessed the delicate beauty of youth.
Clad in dark green, icy blue, and soft pink, their long, enchanting Divine Spring Tails were a sight to behold.
But Yun Xiao's gaze quickly shifted to the five figures opposite them.
He didn't see Divine Dawn among them and felt a slight pang of disappointment. But then he thought, even if Divine Dawn had come to the Grand Assembly of Myriad Sects, the chances of her seeking an alliance with the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm were slim.
The five newcomers consisted of two elders and three youths.
Naturally, the two elders hailed from Ancestral Land and the Nine Yin Soul Sea.
The first elder wore white celestial robes. He had a long beard and the bearing of an Immortal—handsome and majestic. A pure white Corona glowed above his head, and his eyes shone brightly.
Yun Xiao thought he resembled Heavenly Monarch Mu, who had once visited the Celestial Court. Perhaps he was Heavenly Monarch Mu's elder brother or father.
This clearly meant that this white-robed Immortal was from the Ancestral Land.
In aura and celestial power, this man stood equal to the three Divas, suggesting his status might surpass even that of Heavenly Monarch Mu.
The other elder was of similar rank.
She was a woman clad in black robes, her entire figure enveloped in dark smoke, appearing eerie, cold, and mysterious.
At first glance, Yun Xiao could tell she was a powerful Anima Immortal, even stronger than the Chaos Soul before it had battled with Heavenly Monarch Mu. Clearly, she was an elder from the Nine Yin Soul Sea.
"Come here and pay your respects to Empyrean Mu and the Great Dream Lord," Diva Wan Ji of the Sea Lineage called to her daughters, her expression solemn.
"Greetings, Empyrean Mu and Great Dream Lord!"
Hai Qing and the others, along with Feng Yao, bowed to the two elders.
Empyrean Mu was evidently higher in rank than Heavenly Monarch Mu, indicating they were from the same lineage.
"You youngsters can get acquainted," Empyrean Mu said with a smile, glancing at the proud daughters of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm.
Beside him stood two youths, one on each side. They resembled Empyrean Mu; unsurprisingly, they were his sons.
Then, the two introduced themselves. One was named Mu Zixiao and the other Mu Zhilu.
Mu Zixiao was heroic and spirited, dressed in violet celestial robes. Dignified and imposing, he was a noble son of the Immortal path. Mu Zhilu was younger, sunny and handsome, with a pure temperament that caught the eye.
In both bearing and talent, they were undoubtedly the pinnacle of the Samsara Galaxy—top-tier young men.
However, Wan Ji's daughters knew they were tainted by sin. So, they instinctively kept their distance, standing farther away and not approaching them.
Aside from Mu Zixiao and Mu Zhilu, the last young man stood beside the Great Dream Lord. He likely hailed from the Nine Yin Soul Sea and was also an Anima Immortal.
"This is the son of the Great Dream Lord, not yet 25 years old, with an unparalleled Anima Immortal talent in the Samsara Galaxy," Wan Ji said with a hint of admiration, adding a personal introduction.
The youth wore black robes like his mother, enveloped in darkness, revealing only a pair of dark green eyes that seemed to pierce straight into one's soul.
Most participants in the Grand Assembly of Myriad Sects were over 35 years old. To dare attend at under the age of 25 marked him as a prodigy.
His voice was ethereal, stirring the heartstrings. Softly, he introduced himself, "My name is Meng Huan. Greetings to the sisters of the Harmony Divine Palace."
"Meng Huan... Reverie…"
The name was peculiar, vast, and unfathomable. To choose such a name required great confidence.
"Sword, Sigil, Martial, and Anima… Between the four, Anima Immortals stand out as the strongest. Your son Meng Huan possesses the Nine Souls Talent. One day, he will become a Boundless Anima Immortal, enough to create a new chapter in history," Empyrean Mu said, stroking his long beard with a smile.
The mysterious woman, the Great Dream Lord, laughed—a raspy sound that might give children nightmares, yet she was genuinely amused.
As she laughed, her eyes fell upon Feng Yao. In a deep voice, she said, "The Nine Souls Talent only grants a chance at becoming a Boundless Immortal. But the 9-Star prodigy of the Harmony Divine Palace has a one hundred percent chance. Such unparalleled talent is unmatched. To earn a spot in the Grand Assembly at merely 18 years old shows that by 38 or 48, she will surely reign supreme over the entire Samsara Galaxy."
"Talent is but a stepping stone on the immortal path. What one ultimately achieves depends on individual fortune," Wan Ji replied modestly.
Empyrean Mu shook his head. "As elders, our duty to guide is also crucial."
"Indeed."
From their tone, Yun Xiao could tell the relations among the three parties were quite amicable—not as bleak as the three Divas initially described.
"You young folks, go mingle," Empyrean Mu instructed.
Hearing this, Hai Qing glanced at her mother. After Wan Ji nodded slightly, Hai Qing took on the role of hostess, inviting Mu Zixiao, Mu Zhilu, and Meng Huan to get acquainted.
"Hmm?" The Great Dream Lord's eyes suddenly locked onto Yun Xiao. "This young man seems to have the talent of an Anima Immortal; his spirit is ethereal and harmonious."
Empyrean Mu had noticed Yun Xiao earlier. He tentatively asked, "Ladies, I heard the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm has nine representatives. Could it be that this young man is one of them?"
Wan Ji smiled. "Are you curious why our Harmony Divine Palace has a male participant?"
Empyrean Mu chuckled. "Indeed, we are a bit puzzled."
Wan Ji looked at Yun Xiao. "This lad is named Yun Xiao. He is... a celestial slave!"
Upon hearing this, Yu Ji and Si Ji behind her wore peculiar expressions.
Yu Ji thought Yun Xiao was a Boundless Immortal and was secretly delighted, while Si Ji genuinely believed he was a slave—but one with whom she shared a profound secret.
