Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 525: Tri-Colored Heavenly Dao Sarira!

Chapter 525: Tri-Colored Heavenly Dao Sarira!

Dawn broke. The hemispherical veil of darkness swept completely over Sky Soaring City. Clouds and glimmers born from the Celestial Sourcecore once again enveloped this immense celestial city.

The city’s walls, rubble, and streets shone anew, enshrouded in a celestial mist.

Today was Yun Xiao’s official day to report to the Thunder Department at the Skyruler Immortal Manor.

Early in the morning, he arrived outside the Manor. Clad in a resplendent suit of platinum armor, both majestic and solemn, his attire was a symbol of his status.

Just yesterday, Yun Xiao had topped the leaderboards and publicly exposed the vile deeds committed by Yuan Gang, which skyrocketed his fame. Everyone felt a sense of relief for this prodigal son who had returned after a decade.

"Arbiter Lu!" As Yun Xiao walked through the streets, the citizens of Sky Soaring City affectionately called out to him.

This identity came with a sense of duty to maintain order and protect the weak!

Upon entering the Skyruler Immortal Manor, Yun Xiao first visited Liu Mumu at her Willow Leaf Residence.

When Yun Xiao arrived, she was still in the courtyard, surrounded by the fiery energy of a Celestial Sourcecore as she practiced.

"Given your family's special circumstances, I've requested the Manor to issue your celestial stipend for the year in advance," Liu Mumu said, pointing to a stone table. "It's right there."

"Thank you, Master." Yun Xiao walked over and saw 100 platinum Immortal Jades arrayed on the stone table. The quality of these Immortal Jades was exceptional; they were hot to the touch, each a mini repository of the power of a Celestial Sourcecore, gleaming brightly.

Yun Xiao knew these to be top-grade Immortal Jades, also known as True Immortal Jades. Such jades could not form in the mortal realm of the myriad worlds without a Celestial Sourcecore.

This was essentially the most widely used currency in the Celestial Court. The power within these Immortal Jades was something that both Blue Star and Red Moon could absorb. So, these 100 True Immortal Jades were useful to them.

"A year's stipend, just a hundred?" Blue Star said, somewhat speechless.

"Stingy!" Red Moon complained.

"It's actually quite generous," Yun Xiao replied as he gathered the Immortal Jades and placed them into his Bag of Holding.

Red Moon moved with lightning speed, grabbed an Immortal Jade, and took a bite before nodding with satisfaction. "The flavor's definitely better; the mid-grade Immortal Jades in the mortal realm just can't compare."

Though both were called Immortal Jades, those of the mortal realm were merely infused with immortal energy, whereas these were of the Celestial Sourcecore—a treasure of a completely different caliber.

No amount of the former could possibly equate to the latter.

Yun Xiao, currently in the Yang Immortal Realm, found the black Heavenly Dao Sariras produced by the little black beast of little use to him.

The wealth he had seized from the Three Immortals had been partly returned to Shen Cang and Dean Yu for the reconstruction of the Primordial Ruins, while another portion had bolstered the foundational powers of Blue Star and Red Moon.

Now, these 100 True Immortal Jades had arrived, addressing Yun Xiao’s urgent needs. But he knew it was far from enough.

After Yun Xiao collected the stipend, Liu Mumu paused her cultivation and said, "Last night, there was quite a spectacle above your house."

"Indeed, it was quite a sight." Yun Xiao nodded.

Liu Mumu shifted the conversation, "As an Arbiter Initiate, you've been assigned to Lu Changfeng's side. No need for me to remind you to tread carefully, right?"

"Understood!" Yun Xiao nodded again.

"You've outmaneuvered Yuan Gang, and with the recent incidents during the Arbiter examination, expect many to target you," Liu Mumu said, her gaze intense as if trying to uncover some secret or hoping that Yun Xiao would confess something voluntarily.

"Understood!" Yun Xiao nodded again, seemingly with nothing more to say.

His response left Liu Mumu somewhat helpless.

"Report to Lu Changfeng's Wind Squad at the Wind Pavilion," Liu Mumu instructed.

"Alright."

With that, Yun Xiao prepared to leave. After a few steps, he turned back to ask, "Master, how can I learn the celestial techniques of the Skyruler Immortal Manor?"

"The most common ones, you can learn anytime at the Celestial Techniques Hall. For anything slightly more sophisticated, you must fulfill your duties as an Arbiter, undertake missions, accumulate merits, and trade those for rewards," Liu Mumu explained.

This was no surprise to Yun Xiao. There were no free lunches in this world.

Yun Xiao could only remark, "The Sword Ruins had the Sword Baptism Ceremony and the ancestral teachings about the Exiled Sword Immortal, allowing me to ascend swiftly. The Primordial Ruins had Dean Yu and half the Primordial Academy's support when I first arrived, making my start smooth. But in this Great Dao Celestial Realm, I'm just a stowaway, unable to display even my innate talents, truly penniless and powerless."

"Things are getting worse?" Blue Star scoffed.

Yun Xiao shook his head, stating coldly, "It's only that the larger the world, the more cruel and realistic it becomes, and all the more intricately complex. The chances of ascending swiftly on the identity of an Exiled Sword Immortal will be hard to come by again."

In the Primordial Ruins, Yun Xiao could not display talents surpassing the eight Sword Rings of the Human Zenith Immortal.

In the Great Dao Celestial Realm, it was bound to be even more brutal! A genius with a backing was called a prodigy. A genius without one was called a missing person.

After parting with Liu Mumu, Yun Xiao officially reported to the Wind Pavilion, a mere branch where Lu Changfeng led his squad.

Here, over 100 Arbiters were under Lu Changfeng's command, most of whom were provisional Arbiters within their first five years at the Skyruler Immortal Manor. With their positions tentative, they could be dismissed at any moment.

It was early morning, and the Arbiter responsible for recording information was Zhao Cheng, a young man with a somber demeanor.

"Sword and sigil dual cultivation?" Zhao Cheng looked up doubtfully at Yun Xiao after reviewing the self-reported data, "Lu Yao, you know if this information is falsified, being exposed would be a serious offense."

"I filled it out during the Arbiter examination," Yun Xiao said.

"Alright." Zhao Cheng organized the documents and handed Yun Xiao some items, "Here are your cultivation room key and a brief on your department and teammates."

"Thanks." Yun Xiao took them and turned to leave.

"Wait." Zhao Cheng spread his hands, tapped the desk, and raised an eyebrow, "Hasn't anyone told you the rules for newcomers?"

"Not really." Yun Xiao smiled and strode off.

Zhao Cheng's face darkened as he watched him walk away, sneering, "Another fool who won’t last long."

The next provisional Arbiter in line hurried forward, sneakily placing three True Immortal Jades in Zhao Cheng’s hand, and sheepishly said, "Take it easy, Zhao bro. Don't mind the greenhorns."

Every Arbiter at the Skyruler Immortal Manor had their own private cultivation room.

Though not as spacious as Liu Mumu's Willow Leaf Residence, Yun Xiao's room excelled in seclusion and privacy, suitable for long-term residence if he chose.

Essentially, it was the Arbiter’s dormitory. Though private, it wasn't necessarily so.

Yun Xiao had just entered when a cacophony erupted from next door—a mix of men and women, newcomers, gathered together, chattering and laughing, forging new connections.

Without hesitation, Yun Xiao shut his door firmly.

The ceiling of his cultivation room was adorned with a swirling array, designed to continuously draw in energy from a Celestial Sourcecore to aid the Arbiter's cultivation.

"All consumed." Yun Xiao handed over his year's stipend to the little black beast, then settled himself cross-legged under the swirling array.

"Divine Dawn, Lu Fan..."

These two extraordinary entities seemed far removed from his current reality.

Choosing to set aside thoughts of them, Yun Xiao focused on using his Arbiter identity to harness the resources of the Skyruler Immortal Manor to strengthen himself, aiming for the Boundary Defining Divine Needle!

"My master is a Rank 8 Arbiter Commander, her brother Liu Chaochao is a Rank 7 Sky Protector, and Lord Lu is a Rank 6 Heavenly Officer... then, the Governor of Sky Soaring City must be Rank 5!"

In the Celestial Court, Rank 5 was considered among the top tier of Heavenly Officers.

Furthermore, the rank of a Heavenly Officer indicated their administrative level, not necessarily their combat prowess.

"Cultivate!" Yun Xiao was still an Early Yang Immortal, and his immediate goal was to achieve true immortality in the shortest possible time.

His true body, body double, and blood slave were all at a critical juncture in their paths to immortality.

The growth of his Dao Heart was crucial!

Lately, the things Yun Xiao had seen and heard were shockingly profound, rapidly advancing the growth of his Dao Heart, even as the lacking Heavenly Dao Sariras slowed his pace.

He first absorbed the energy from the Celestial Sourcecore to boost his strength.

Soon after, the little black beast beside him retched and spat out a tricolored Heavenly Dao Sarira.

This tricolored Heavenly Dao Sarira, adorned with red, green, and blue, shimmered with a misty radiance.

"What is this called?" Yun Xiao asked.

"Tri-Heaven Sarira," Blue Star said weakly, groaning, "It's disgusting, I nearly vomited up my stomach acid. You'd better eat it while it's fresh!"

"Almost brought up my poop with it!" Red Moon said with a mischievous grin.

"..." Yun Xiao rolled his eyes, took the Tri-Heaven Sarira, and rinsed it thoroughly with clear water before swallowing it for refinement.

Unexpectedly, this Heavenly Dao Sarira, refined using True Immortal Jades, proved significantly more potent. Inside Yun Xiao's dantian, colors shimmered brilliantly. The platinum Sacred Wheel spun tumultuously, expanding continuously while his Worldly Dao Heart remained steadfast, effortlessly maintaining control over this surge of power.

"I'm in the Late Yang Immortal Realm now!" Yun Xiao exclaimed. It was his third day in the Celestial Court. Compared to before, this progress wasn't fast, but relative to other Immortals, it was extraordinarily rapid.

"In a couple days, I might reach the True Immortal Realm." Yun Xiao glanced at Blue Star and Red Moon, "Pity, I've used up my year's stipend. Looks like I need to find other ways to make money."

"What's the quickest way to make money?" Blue Star prompted gently.

Yun Xiao pursed his lips, his gaze cold, "It's all written in the Celestial Laws."

Break one, violate one. The crux was that he now served as an Arbiter, a grassroots spokesperson for those very laws.

Still, it was time to make money! The True Immortal Jades were spent, and staying in the cultivation room was pointless.

Yun Xiao stood up, opened the stone door, and had only taken a few steps when a strikingly handsome soldier in platinum armor appeared from the corridor.

It was Liu Chaochao, the Sky Protector.

"Lu Yao, come with me," Liu Chaochao said, his expression unreadable.

"Yes." Yun Xiao didn't ask further and followed him.

Several provisional Arbiters peered out from their nearby cultivation rooms, their expressions curious as they watched the scene unfold.

Yun Xiao followed Liu Chaochao through the corridors of the Skyruler Immortal Manor.

Eventually, they arrived at a somber black palace known as the Guardian Hall.

"Enter."

Yun Xiao followed Liu Chaochao inside, and the massive doors of the Guardian Hall slammed shut behind them.

He looked up to see two imposing figures seated high above, resembling towering mountains. One was Lord Lu, and the other was the Madame.
