Chapter 84: Stealing Treasure

Chapter 84: Stealing Treasure

Yuga arrived at the central part of the space and found it slightly different from what he had imagined. Previously, due to the dense trees obstructing his view, he couldn't make out the specifics of this place. Now, he finally grasped the entire scene.

Unlike other areas covered in lush vegetation, here stood a massive yellow earth platform devoid of any vegetation, not even a single blade of grass.

The platform bore numerous caves, occasionally releasing Trapinchs from their openings.

Without a doubt, this was the lair of Flygon and also the destination of Yuga's journey.

However, brute force wasn't an option here. Unlike the lower-level Gligars he encountered before, Flygon in this area were mostly above level 40. Additionally, there were many level 20 to 30 Vibrava.

Engaging recklessly here would be tantamount to seeking death, even with the help of the nearly level 60 Audino

After contemplating for a while, Yuga realized he had to rely on strategy.

After much thought, the only feasible approach that Yuga could come up with was to take them down one by one.

If he could eliminate the powerful Flygon, the remaining Trapinch and Vibrava wouldn't pose much of a threat.

Although Audino couldn't handle a bunch of Flygon, attacking them individually would certainly be manageable.

Hence, Yuga and his companions quietly left the range of the yellow earth platform and decided to search the forest for isolated Flygon.

They quickly selected their first target.

It was a level 46 green-aptitude Flygon, leisurely munching on fruits atop a tree when Yuga spotted it.

This particular Flygon was utterly lacking in vigilance, engrossed in its meal. It didn't even notice when Audino had gotten behind it.

To restrict Flygon, which was a dragon-type elf, Audino used her skill, Mist Terrain.

A pink mist diffused, invigorating the energy of the fairy-type. By the time Flygon began feeling uneasy, it was too late. Enveloped in the diffused energy, it was immobilized as if stuck in mud, struggling to even take flight.

Audino immediately launched her prepared Dazzling Gleams against it.

With an attack so close and unexpected, Flygon was sent tumbling to the ground. Concealed nearby, Linoone, Swellow, Absol, and Floette conjured her prepped attacks, all of which struck Flygon unerringly.

Dark purple shadow balls, white air slashes, psycho cut, and green magical leaf all hit Flygon with precision, rendering it unable to fight back.

Yuga promptly collected the unconscious Flygon into a Poké Ball and stashed it in his system backpack.

In this manner, one after another, Yuga replicated the strategy. Flygon after Flygon was captured. By the time there were no more Flygon left to find in the forest, Yuga had captured over twenty of them, all of them green-aptitude.

As Yuga had surmised, these Flygon, living in such a comfortable environment, had lost it will to fight. Lacking vigilance and battle experience, it levels and qualifications might have been high, but it actual combat abilities didn't even match up to Swellow.

At this point, the Vibrava also realized that something was amiss. Consequently, they took to the skies, searching for the missing Flygon.

Countless Vibrava filled the sky, it wing vibrations creating a deafening sound. However, Yuga and his group had already hidden themselves away.

Flygon were the leaders and pillars of the entire colony. With all of them suddenly gone, how could the Vibrava not be anxious?

Yuga peered through the leaves, observing the multitude of green Vibrava, feeling his scalp tingling at the sight of so many of them – it was a disaster.

Thinking for a moment, he realized they had likely emptied it nest to launch this attack. That would mean the defense around the main nest, the yellow earth platform, must be weak. This was a perfect opportunity for a surprise attack. They say fortune favors the bold, and if they didn't act now, they might never get another chance.

So, with Audino by his side, Yuga headed straight for the central yellow earth platform while keeping a low profile.

As expected, when Yuga and the group arrived at the yellow earth platform clad in green bed sheets, there was no sign of any Vibrava except for Trapinch scurrying around in panic. Yuga and his team easily climbed to the top of the platform.

The platform's peak had a sunken circular pit housing a square stone tablet about half the height of a person. On the tablet lay a shimmering green orb emitting a radiant glow.

This orb was likely the treasure that the Gligar had mentioned.

Just as Yuga was about to approach and retrieve it, a melodious song filled the air, followed by a Flygon almost twice the size of the regular ones descending along with a whirlwind of sand.

Indeed, this was no ordinary Flygon; it was Flygon renowned as the "Spirit of the Desert" and "Desert Elf." The pleasant song from earlier had been the sound of its wings vibrating as it stirred up the sandstorm.

No wonder the swarm of Vibrava dared to empty their nest. Their leader was guarding the nest all along.

This Flygon's level was even higher than Audino by one level, and it possessed quite a few powerful dragon-type moves. Its strength was not to be underestimated.

With eyes encased in red membranes, the leader of Flygon coldly observed Yuga and his companions. The intimidation brought by High level Pokémon was palpable to everyone.

"Flygon!"

In a fit of anger, Flygon let out a deafening roar. Following that, a burst of crimson flames spewed forth from its mouth, aimed at turning Yuga's invading group to ashes.

Seeing the attack, Audino swiftly leaped forward. A Fire Punch attack promptly shattered the incoming flames, causing them to disperse like fireworks, falling and gradually extinguishing on the ground.

By this time, Audino had already jumped into action. Yuga had brought out Swellow and Linoone, positioning them to the side. Engaging in a battle of this magnitude wasn't something he, as a small character, could join.

After dispelling Flygon's attack, Audino retaliated immediately. A pink mist quickly spread, filling the entire sunken pit in the blink of an eye.

Flygon was extremely sensitive to the drastic changes in the fairy-type energy around it. The mist formed from the fairy energy pervaded the area, making it highly uncomfortable.

It shook its body, lifting its head. A surge of green dragon's breath erupted from its mouth, a dragon's breath akin to emerald flames, charging straight at Audino
