32 – Pancakes and Maple Syrup
32 – Pancakes and Maple Syrup
"It's not so bad," Calcine said, voice lowered so Willow didn't hear. She patted Brandy's spiky red hair as she lay face down on the table. "At least you didn't have sex with her."
"Thanks, Calcine," Brandy mumbled, doing her best to become one with the table, so she didn't have to deal with what was coming. "I needed that in my brain right now."
Willow pressed the lighter for the stove to heat the pan, eggs, and milk lying on the side ready. She had a bounce to her step that made her hips sway, and Brandy really didn't appreciate it. Nor did she appreciate Calcine's clear stares poking her hard in the side.
"First, my mom, now hers," Brandy hissed quietly. "Behave!"
Calcine raised her hands defensively. "I was just looking. It's nice to see humans happy."
Brandy didn't believe that one bit but didn't have time to question as Sparky returned with Maple in tow. Maple looked much better than she had in the hospital, her gorgeous blonde hair tied neatly back into a ponytail, and her face cleared up with just a light touch of makeup. Brandy really wanted to get some tips there. She'd always needed to get the hang of it.
Maple's fashion was impeccable, too, wearing trail gear that was an awful lot nicer than Brandy's. A cute sky blue fleece that showed off her curves and looked incredibly comfy, and some expensive-looking clean-cut jeans. She had an umbrella folded up under her arm. Someone had said it would rain today, but last night's marathon of sex, coupled with the surprises of the morning, was plenty enough to blow all other thoughts out of Brandy's head.
"Good morning, Brandy," Maple said, "Calcine ..... mom?"
Become the table, Brandy. Start a new life right now as sawn-up pine wood.
"Maple, dear! Do you want pancakes too?" Willow said, waving a spatula to her daughter. "Get a seat. It won't be that long,"
"Dear?!" Maple said with the shock usually reserved for finding out the dead had come back to life. "Are you okay? You sound ... uh ..."
"Oh, it's fine," Sparky laughed, waving a hand dismissively. "She's just been up all night having sex with Brandy's mom. Whoa!"
There was a crash as the salt pot sailed right past Sparky's head and smacked into the wall. Brandy had missed her shot by a mile, but she still had a pepper pot to go.
"Wait, wait, wait," Sparky said, hiding behind Maple. "Was that a secret? She was so loud last night!"
"You didn't tell me it was her!" Brandy growled, rolling the pepper pot in her hand. "Calcine, go Rapid Spin her to the moon."
Maple rolled her eyes. "It's fine, don't be so dramatic. You act like your parents never do this."
Brandy really didn't want to go into that, so she took the lifeline and smiled. "I try not to think about it. Which they make pretty hard."
There's some shared sympathy between the young adults, and Maple comes into the kitchen, dragging Sparky behind her as she pulls out a chair at the table and drops the Joltik into it. "You probably shouldn't let her answer the door."
Brandy felt her stomach drop again. "Oh no. What did she do?"
Sparky grinned, preening her hair. "I asked to get her coat. Very welcoming."
"And then my fleece and pants," Maple said, shaking her head. "Bug Types"
"Oh, they're not so bad," Willow said. "I'm warming up to them. Does Sparky know Struggle Bug Brandy?"
"I don't!" Sparky said, turning on her chair to look at Willow. "Tell me about that. Should I learn it? Why's it so good?"
"Scoria!" Brandy yelled in pure panic. This wasn't a conversation she wanted ever, if she could help it. "You should ensure she comes to get breakfast too, Mrs. Haze."
"Oh, you're right," Maple's mother said, tapping her chin with the spatula and getting a few spots of pancake mixture. "She'd enjoy a family meal. I'll do that. Calcine, can you watch the stove for me?"
"Of course, Willow," Calcine said, giving up her seat for Maple. She sat down next to it next to Maple heavily, an audible thud as she dropped.
"Hah." Brandy said, sliding her head on the table to look at Maple, an unreadable expression on the woman's face. "I thought I was in trouble there. I'm glad it's okay."
Maple says nothing, watching her mother leave with a smile to her that's bright and genuine.
Then she turned and grabbed Brandy by the collar, pulling her upright.
"What the fuck Brandy!" Maple shook Brandy, her response strangled in her throat as she nearly swallowed her tongue. "Why is my mom here?!"
"Came to thank me! I swear I didn't know!" Brandy said, hands gripping Maple's wrists to stop her from shaking her head right off. "Go easy on me. I had a rough night."
"Yeah!" Sparky said, "We fucked her good. She wanted to be louder than your mom."
"What the fuuuuck," Maple grabbed Brandy's head and pulled it down onto her, rasping her knuckles over Brandy's forehead and making the girl squirm. "You're dead, you red hair pest!"
"It was a mistake, a mistake! Aaaa! I promise!" Brandy wailed, batting her hands at Maple's arms. "I didn't know it was her, I swear. I thought it was just some random guest mom had. She's a fire type. You know how they are!"
"Calcine?" Maple said, not taking Brandy's word for it at all. She stared daggers at Calcine. Calcine had her hand in the gas stove flame and looked guilty at getting distracted from her job of watching the pan.
"She's telling the truth. Honestly, I didn't know either. I think Sparky's got a good ear for ... noises."
"I'm an expert." Sparky nodded. "Comes with having a magic tongue."
"That's..." Maple raised an eyebrow at Sparky. "Dare I ask?"
"Can show you if you like," Sparky grinned, waggling her eyebrows back.
"Bug Types," Maple huffed again, letting Brandy up.
Brandy's hair was a complete mess, still wet from the shower, and it'd all formed a giant bird's nest of a tangle now. Brandy patted at it half-heartedly, the heat of Maple's headrub still prickling over her head.
"I'm sorry, though, like, I didn't do anything? But sorry," Brandy said, "Seriously. This is messed up."
"So messed up," Maple nodded, leaning her head back over the chair, her ponytail dangling as she stared at the ceiling.
"Just. Super fucked."
"Like Maple's mom," Sparky nodded. The pepper pot got her square on the shoulder, and she fell off her chair with a squeak.
"Nice shot," Maple said, grudging praise as she let out a deep sigh.
"Thanks, uh. You look good. Hi. Welcome to my house." Brandy flailed her arms as she tried to find any way to steer this conversation back to something not painfully awkward. "You can pass on going out today if you like? I wouldn't blame you. It's uh. This. Thing. Bad."
She was running out of words as quickly as brain cells, just nodding dumbly as she blushed harder and harder. Maple gave her some side eye, then let out a long snort of laughter. "You're ridiculous."
"We love that about her," Calcine said as she flipped the pancakes. "Earnest and dumb."
"Hey! Don't get a Rock Type either. They're bullies," Brandy said. "I got an idea of one that might be a good fit for you, and I think you can handle them."
"Like Scoria handled Will-" Sparky got halfway through another terrible teasing joke before Maple leaned over the table and got a hold of Sparky's ear, twisting it as she pulled Sparky forward, bending her over the table. "Ow, ow, ow."
"Going to be good?" Maple said, her voice steel as she stared darkly at the bent-over Sparky. "Or should I twist this right off?"
All four of Sparky's blue eyes were wide open as she looked back up at Maple. Brandy had never seen Sparky this shaken, it was like she'd idly kicked a rock only to find out it was a Golem's ass, and now she was going to get folded into a pretzel. Pure terror.
Of course, it didn't last.
"Is it bad I'm turned on?" Sparky said, voice quavering. "Woof"
"That's probably the best you'll get," Brandy sighed. She loved Sparky, but she was learning fast how grating someone who didn't know how to quit could be. "But it shouldn't be. Sparky, you want to respect her feelings?"
Sparky deflated. "Sorry, just. Felt you two were awkward. Wanted to take your mind off it."
"By being a pest?" Maple said, letting the ear go with a playful flick to the earlobe.
"Yeah! Then you're both mad at me, not each other." Sparky smiled. "And I don't mind because you're both super hot."
Maple's cheek had the faintest blush as she rolled her eyes, "You're not going to set me up with someone like this, are you, Brandy? You can put up with it. I'd break them."
Sparky burbled happily at the thought, then yelped as Brandy gave her legs a firm kick under the table, all the silverware jumping from the bang.
"Put up with is a strong term. I endure." Brandy looked up the stairs to the bathroom. "I think I can hear the shower going. I don't think we'll see our moms again for a while."
"Oh?" Maple said, looking as well. Then stiffening up as realization hit. "Oh! Right. Scoria has a reputation."
"She does?" Calcine slid pancakes off onto plates. "We haven't heard about it. Why don't you tell us all about it?"
Brandy only had the maple syrup to throw left; she needed that for the pancakes. She tried to communicate to Calcine her betrayal purely through stares, but Calcine had her hand back in the stove light again, eyes bright as the heat made her blood race. Calcine wasn't even a Fire type yet, and she was already learning to enjoy being horny as hell. It was going to be such a change when her Evolution hit.
"I think I'm vetoing any mom fucking stories for today." Maple said, so firmly even Sparky would have been crazy to argue.
"Absolutely. Zero mom fucking."
"I can hear what's going on in that shower. There's definitely some mom fucking going on," Sparky said, and got a twin kick from both Brandy and Maple for doing it. She puffs out a breath as it's knocked from her lungs, sparks crackling along her fur as it charges with static from the impact. "Okay! Okay! That was the last one, sorry. I couldn't resist."
"If we're going to talk sex, how about you tell me about your last night?" Maple said, "It sounds juicy."
"Uh, that'd be embarrassing?" Brand said.
"I know. That's what I'm doing it." Maple smiled sweetly at Brandy. "Revenge for having a sex competition with my mom."
So unfair. That was only ... kind of what happened.
The pancakes were pretty good, but Calcine and Sparky's enthusiastic retelling of how they'd fucked her unconscious last night made it very hard to focus on the fluffy texture. Brandy just drowned them in Maple Syrup and got some calories in her. She needed them badly after all the exercise she'd been doing lately.
"Wow," Sparky said, staring at her. "Brandy, I can't believe you."
"What? What?" Brandy said, looking around in a panic.
"Only let her into the house, and you're already stuffing your mouth with Maple. Leave some for us."
Brandy choked on her pancake so badly that Calcine had to help her get it back out. Just once, she'd like to bond over something that wasn't embarrassing the hell out of her!
