214 – Mirror Match
"Love the look," Brandy called over the pool as her eyes scanned Wren and Dinah for any more tucked-away surprises. "I feel flattered."
"You wear it better, but please. Enjoy looking all you like," Wren said with a twirl, the trail of the maid dress fluttering in the wind. "You're a treat on the eyes."
Damn, it really did look good. Was that narcissistic to think? Brandy had been happy to admit she was pretty. Cherry had drummed that into her, but she'd never gone as far as hot. Now she was eying herself up and actually getting a little turned on. So embarrassing. Was she going to fuck a mirror next?
Brandy looked harder anyway; she had one last moment to gather useful information, and she was going to use it. A close inspection showed off how Wren's copy of her wasn't quite perfect. Sparky had noticed she was shorter right away; it was pretty obvious, but other little details gave it away. She didn't have Brandy's fit body, and while the outfit was trying to squeeze her into the right shape, the thighs and hips were a dead giveaway. Wren was thicker than Brandy, something that'd undoubtedly thrill Sparky to bits. While the Disguise ability she'd inherited from the Mimikyu could change her appearance, it didn't copy everything. Brandy was probably safe, ruling out that Wren now had Compound Eyes and a Steam Engine. Thank goodness, that'd have been rough to deal with.
If she didn't get any physical benefits, then Wren clearly planned to pull some tricks instead. Tricks beyond just making this a little weird. Brandy was warming up to the idea of kissing her twin, but Sparky looked ready to dive in and check Wren's work as thoroughly as possible. There was nothing more alluring to a Pokémon than their partner. The disguise would be more of a downside if she didn't have something more planned, though what wasn't quite clear yet. She just wasn't a good enough copy to trick Sparky into thinking she was Brandy. Sparky would see right through it.
Speaking of those wonderful Joltik Eyes, Brandy's inherited eyes picked up a familiar tuft of yellow fur on the colorful patchwork hair that Dinah had for her Wooloo costume. They'd been quite sneaky taking that from Sparky earlier, but the fact they had gone to the effort gave away that Dinah's disguise needed a physical part of whoever she wanted to make a costume of. It'd make sense she had Dinah's other two Pokémon in that quilt somewhere; Brandy was ready for plenty of attempts to confuse everyone in this fight once more Pokémon came out. Though it wasn't obvious from the patchwork collection what they could be, a few blotches of purple fur didn't help with just how many purple-haired ghosts there were.
That was about the last of the clues Brandy could gather in the time she had. The curiously familiar voice of the human judge was just finishing up hyping the crowd. Fuck, who was she? It made her brain itch trying to place it, a helping of infectious enthusiasm and confidence all rolled into one. It reminded her of Shay, that rascal who'd pointed Brandy towards Morgan. But it wasn't her, not just because the voice was a little different. It just wouldn't make sense. Mercury had fucked Shay absolutely stupid, and her now being a judge with Mercury wouldn't suit the Rapidash's titanic ego.
She'd find out after. Head in the game time.
"When life drops surprise twins in your lap, it'd be foolish to drag introductions out any longer." the not-quite-Shay called out, "Competitors, keep an ear out for the bell. If you miss it, we won't ring it again. Fight!"
"Sparky! Elect-" Brandy said, pointing across the pool and choked. Wren hugged Dinah, burying her face in the puffy Wooloo costume as Dinah turned those big black eyes on Brandy. She tried again, her heart skipping a beat, but it felt like the words were caught in her throat. "We- uh- We-"
Fuck, Dinah's eyes were just so soulful. Looking into their depths, seeing Dinah's exposed heart laid out for her. So open and raw. Brandy couldn't bring herself to order an attack. It'd be too cruel to swing at something so nakedly vulnerable.
"Electric what?" Sparky said, dancing on the balls of her feet. "Brandy?"
Dinah giggled, a sound that echoed through the pool. "You want to skip the fighting, Brandy? We can get right to the loving."
Brandy's jaw went slack. That wasn't Dinah's voice, was it? The giggle was the same, but the tone was completely different. It reminded her of Valerie the Dubwool, but somehow with even more confidence. Warm, inviting, and very insistent she be a good girl. "Yeah, we could do that."
"Fuck that," Sparky raised her hands and whipped out two weblines right across the pool, one sticking to Dinah's chest and the other clipping Wren's shoulder. The electricity crackling along the webbing made their opponents twitch, and Dinah broke eye contact for just a moment. The warm fuzzy feelings Brandy felt for Dinah evaporated with it, her drive to attack coming back so fast she almost lurched forward into the pool to try to get closer to them.
Brandy knew the move. It was a common one, Baby-Doll Eyes. Look one person in the eyes, and they won't be able to fight you. It was a nasty, disabling move, but it went both ways; you have to play nice while using it. Usually, it was not that threatening as long as you were careful, but combined with Dinah's ability to disguise herself, it was going to be really annoying to deal with.
"Don't look her in the eyes and pull them into the pool!"
"I'll focus on the tits!" Sparky yanked on her webs, but Dinah flexed a hand, and the webs snapped, pieces drifting to orbit around the Mimikyu like a halo. That was new. Usually, it took fire or a sharp blade to cut them, but Brandy hadn't seen anything in Dinah's hand.
"She's full of tricks," Brandy said, "Get on, and let's close; she doesn't feel like a brawler to me."
Sparky nodded and bounced back lightly, flipping over in the air and landing on Brandy's shoulder as light as a feather, her thighs clamped around Brandy's waist as she used her hand to shield Brandy's eyes from Dinah. Clever, Brandy did the same, sweeping her arm through the air to break the line of sight as she walked around the pool briskly.
"Not going to work Dinah, pull her in instead," Wren said, jogging to keep the water between her and Brandy. Her patchwork Wooloo partner raised her hands like two-finger guns, and Sparky hissed as Dinah fired her own pair of Electrowebs across the water. A Mimikyu that had Mimic. Big surprise.
"Counter!" Brandy snapped, getting a firm grip on Sparky's body. "I'll provide the muscle!"
Wren wasn't counting on Sparky's crack-shot eyes as Sparky fired her own webs in retaliation, and they met with an arc of electricity over the water. Brandy grabbed the thick cord, ignoring the fuzzy tingling in her hand as she gave it a firm wrench, throwing her body weight into it. Wren tried to steady Dinah, but Brandy had way more power behind her arms, and the patchwork Wooloo's feet scrabbled over the polished wood floor before being hoisted off her feet over the water.
"Sub out!" Wren yelled, and with a horrible crack, the back of the Wooloo costume tore open. A cloud of inky black goo spilled out of the seams, a thick mass of the stuff splattered all over the poolside, some of it splashing through Wren's red hair, soaking her copycat look with streaks of black. The Wooloo costume flopped into the water, lying deflated on the surface, slowly sinking under as it soaked up water weight.
"Don't look, I'm naked!" the mess of black yelled, a burbling scratchy voice that changed in pitch with every word. The goo was coalescing, but Brandy wasn't going to just sit there and let them find their feet.
"Sparky, infest the costume!"
"Aw, come on!" the burbling goo girl whined as Sparky fired a wave of little yellow bugs into the pool; they burrowed into the costume's fur like ticks, chittering happily as a few of them splashed about in the water instead.
"You wanted to get inside me," Sparky grinned, "Well, now I'm inside you."
"Wren!" Dinah whined, the goo splashing over Wren's side, sticking to her body, a few black tentacles wrapping around her limbs. "Don't leave me looking all gross. People can see me!"
"Let them look. You're beautiful," Wren said, licking the black-goo woman clinging to her side. It barely had the shape of a woman, but it still trembled with excitement as it coated Wren's tongue. Was Wren going to eat a bit of her doing that?
Ghost Aces. So weird.
"We'll let her have it back if she sits the round out." Brandy said, "You can wait for your second, can't you?"
Wren smirked. Brandy didn't smirk much, so it looked strange to see a mirror version of herself acting so smug, especially down her partner's greatest strength; a Mimikyu without her costumes was basically a clingy pudding rather than a real threat. "I love your stockings, Brandy."
"Thanks?" Brandy risked a quick glance at the stockings that Sparky had made her. They were deliciously well-fitting, but why did Wren care right now?
Wren stroked her hand through the black, gooey mess that was her girlfriend right now, soothing her with her fingers. "Dinah and I babbled about your maid costume while she was making mine, and you know what we realized? Those stockings don't fit it; they're gorgeous and hug your legs perfectly, but they're not the right sort for a maid. Sparky made them for you with her webs, didn't she?"
This was leading to something. Brandy was just going to cut her off before she got to it.
"Sparky, web her up," Brandy said, turning to point the Sparky on her shoulder at them. "We can get a little wet with her, then find a better use for that mouth."
"Happily, they're being weird," Sparky said, blasting a twirled-together twin blast of crackling electro-webbing. It raced to envelop Wren but exploded apart like confetti just before hitting her, the air filled with spinning shards of white webbing.
"My Dinah's something of a tailor and silks the perfect material for her to work with." Wren laughed. "How about I show you some future fashion?"
The strips of webbing snapped in on Dinah's gooey body, lashing over it and binding her up. She was squeezed into a cocoon, the silk rippling to take a more human shape. Or at least sort of human; it was tall, really tall, and with more limbs than usual. Dinah rolled her new shoulders, black slits forming in her face to make a row of eyes.
Tall, with four arms, mouth-watering curves, and a cocky sway to her hips. Brandy had seen this look before, though she hadn't been made of pure white silk. Sparky's evolved form, a Galvantula.
"Ugh," Sparky groaned. "Ghost Type Gamma? She's the worst without being creepy, too. I really hate this."
"You can tear her up without getting into trouble." Brandy said, "Or bend her over."
"Now that is tempting," Sparky licked her lips. "I can't use my webs. She'll just steal them. We need to put them both down some other way."
Well, they had a pool full of water and an electric bug. They just had to combine the two and throw their opponents in. "Melee time then. Get them in the pool, and we got this. Your fangs ready?"
"I want to suck on the mini-fridge Brandy." Sparky gnashed. "Lemme at her."
Brandy charged, Sparky intercepting a few of the webby Galvantula's blasts as Wren hopped onto the tall Bug's back. Sparky was going to Evolve someday; it'd be nice to get a hand on a fake just to test out if Brandy liked it.
