Chapter 26: First Member
Chapter 26: First Member
"What do you mean by that?" Ken asked completely confused. Timmy also nodded his head in agreement with Ken while Sky just looked at him waiting for an answer.
However, it seemed that despite them looking a little confused Ashly and Emma stayed quiet which furthered Kaden's thoughts that Emma had something to do with his class changing earlier in the day.
'I will definitely make sure to ask about that later.' Kaden said promising to himself.
"I won't go into further detail, but I will be able to help you guys after we kill one beast," Kaden said repeating himself before stepping back signaling that it was someone else's turn to go.
'While I may not completely understand my powers or the family entirely it should follow the basic principles of being a necromancer based on what the family crest ability says. Plus, I wouldn't have anything else to offer since I have no battle abilities yet.' Kaden thought nervously as he looked at his one hope the family crest ability.
[Family Crest: As a necromancer, you're the commander and chief of your own army that will soon dominate all of the lands while being connected to both life and death. As such you and your army will be closer than family and always have each other's backs with this you will need your own family name and crest that will be recognized by all and feared by those that encounter it. The crest is a sign of someone's loyalty and proof of being in the family. For someone or something to gain the family crest, both parties must agree if the receiver is among the living. If the receiver is among the dead, you must touch the floating soul with your hand and think of using your family crest thus making them a member.]
Emma was the next one to step forward and she gave an Oscar-worthy facial expression of sadness as she stood in between everyone, "I'm sorry to say that I will not be much help. Whether it comes to attack or defense I won't be able to help on any of the fronts unless you want to use me as a meat shield which I don't mind." She said sadly.
This immediately tugged at the heartstrings of both Timmy and Ken while everyone else just sighed knowing that she was faking it, "It's alright! Don't even worry a little bit we will protect you because that's what friends do." Ken said smiling towards Emma and Timmy nodded his head in agreement.
'He never learned.' Kaden said to himself with a sigh.
"Thank you! I will do my best to help you where I can." She said with a huge smile on her face before walking back to her original spot sending a wink at Kaden.
'She's the worst.' Kaden said slightly angered but he kept it to himself.
Ashly was the next one to step up and address everyone, "I will be able to help you guys on the attack side of things and defense, but I will only be able to protect myself with my powers. Also, I may need something and if I do, I will ask one of you to follow a set of instructions. I need you to follow it perfectly is that ok with everyone?" Ashly said eyeing Kaden specifically which made him shudder slightly and Sky frown.
"How about I just help you with your problem when you need it. It's not like I will be doing much else." Emma said laughing awkwardly.
Ashly hesitated for a moment taking a glance at Kaden before looking at Emma once more, "That's fine. Just make sure to keep up with me." She said agreeing.
Now that Ashly's problem was solved everyone else took their turns saying what they could and couldn't do which ended up with their plan.
The plan was to use Timmy and Ken as the shields of the group and approach whatever monster they may face. Since Ken had the shield-bearer class he was able to take more damage with one of his abilities and then Timmy had the swordsman class that allowed him to take some damage but not as much as Ken.
Emma would be with Ashly as they had said before with Ashly being one to deal damage with Kaden and Sky supporting her since they figured out Sky has a damage class as well.
Once they were done explaining the plan they sat in wait as the final few people were assigned their new member. Sky then tapped his shoulder lightly before gesturing to a blue screen in front of her.
"Huh what is it-" Kaden turned towards her only to be surprised at the blue screen she was showing him. It was her class.
[Name: Sky Hughes]
[Class: Frontline Assassin]
[Potential: SS+]
[Current Rank: F-]
"What! Rank SS+? That's amazing Sky!" Kaden whispered in excitement which made her smile with happiness.
"I'm glad you like it. I will do my best to help you. My love~" Sky said snuggling in his arms once more.
'I never thought it would be this way. This is not bad though; I should show her my appreciation somehow.' Kaden thought as he processed the amount of love that was being poured onto him by Sky.
"I have something for you as well," Kaden said to Sky which made her ears perk up and look at him excitedly.
"What is it?!" She said excitedly.
At this point, some of the others in the group were looking at them wondering what was happening so Kaden put his finger over his lip showing that she should try and keep this something a secret.
She nodded her head seriously realizing that this might be something important, and it was.
Kaden opened up his ability screen and clicked the Family crest button which also made a screen pop up for Sky.
[Kaden Crown would like you to join his family.]
[Accept] [Decline]
Sky seemed surprised for a moment with her mouth slightly open but it took less than 10 seconds for a decision.
[Accept]
[You're now a part of the Aces. Rewards and crest being applied.]
