Chapter 246 - Caught
Chapter 246: Caught
As the night deepened, Ke Le led the mercenaries to patrol around the villa.
Chen Jia quietly pushed open the children’s bedroom door. She saw Qiu Xingyuan and Qiu Xingqiao lying quietly on the bed. They were sleeping exceptionally soundly.
In the dim environment, Chen Jia came to the second floor.
She took off her necklace and used the silver hook to open the lock. Chen Jia turned the door handle gently and looked around warily, seeing that there was no one around. She slipped in.
Jin Tao’s mission for her was not just to sow discord between Jin Yang and Qiu Tong, but also to monitor Jin Yang.
Chen Jia searched through the bedside table and desk drawer in the bedroom, but found no useful information.
She sat in front of the computer and tried to crack the password, but to no avail.
Chen Jia saw the luggage in the corner and recognized Jin Yang’s personal emblem. She planned to see if there were any secrets inside.
Click—she had just taken two steps when she heard the sound of the door lock turning.
Qiu Xingyuan stood on his tiptoes and turned on the light on the ceiling of the bedroom. The four children looked at her coldly. “Auntie, why are you in Mommy’s room? Don’t tell me you were sleepwalking or you entered the wrong room! When you came to our room just now, we weren’t asleep!”
Ye Luan shielded the Qiu family children behind him. He held his phone and could call the police anytime.
“What are you looking for?”
Chen Jia was a little flustered. She didn’t expect to be caught red-handed.
Many explanations flashed across her mind, but she did not voice them out.
Qiu Xingyu stood on tip toe and stuck her head out from behind Qiu Xingqiao. She bared her little white teeth and said fiercely to Chen Jia, “I will tell Uncle Jin Yang!”
She pouted and said, “You want to steal something!”
Chen Jia didn’t expect these kids to be so difficult to deal with. She raised her hand and twirled her hair, narrowing her eyes and revealing a ruthless expression.
She slowly walked up to the children, thinking that she should have no problem dealing with them.
As long as she could shut them up forever, Chen Jia would naturally have a way to push the blame to the so-called bad guys. With Jin Tao’s protection, even if Jin Yang suspected her, he would not be able to detain or punish her!
Chen Jia was having evil thoughts. Ye Luan realized that something was wrong and kept retreating while protecting his younger siblings.
Qiu Xingyu’s back was pressed against the wall at the end of the corridor. She suddenly waved at a spot behind Chen Jia. “Uncle Ke Le, come and help!”
Chen Jia instinctively turned her head only to see the empty corridor behind her.
She had been fooled! Chen Jia wanted to grab the children, but Qiu Xingyuan and Ye Luan took advantage of her distracted state and bent over to circle around her. The children ran straight for the spiral staircase. They ran quickly, with Chen Jia chasing after them.
In the living room, Ke Le suddenly pushed the door open and entered.
Qiu Xingyu looked like she had seen her savior. She hid behind him with tears in her eyes. She pointed at Chen Jia and said, “She wants to harm us!”
Ke Le was originally patrolling outside. For some reason, he felt uneasy and panicked.
He was afraid that the children would take advantage of Qiu Tong’s absence to fool around at home. He wanted to come back and take a look, only to see this scene before him.
Ke Le put a wary hand on the gun at his waist. “What happened?”
Chen Jia immediately wiped off her vicious expression and took two steps forward apologetically. “I entered the wrong room. I didn’t expect to encounter the children. They might have some misunderstanding about me…”
Qiu Xingyu wiped her tears and gritted her teeth.
She shouted angrily, “You liar! You were the one who sneaked into Mommy’s room!”
Ke Le raised his head and looked at the open door of the bedroom on the second floor. He instantly took out his gun and pointed it at Chen Jia.
Between the children and Chen Jia, Ke Le would never choose to believe in a stranger.
He rested his index finger on the trigger, maintaining a shooting stance. “Please return to your room. When Boss and Mr. Jin Yang return, they will listen to your explanation and make their judgment.”
Chen Jia frowned and wanted to take a tentative step forward. Ke Le shot at the floor as a final warning.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
Chen Jia knew that it was impossible to change the situation now. She had no choice but to return to the bedroom.
…
At the official residence of the capital. Jin Yang and Qiu Tong arrived in a car.
Jin Yang took two steps forward and realized that Qiu Tong wasn’t following him. He turned around and saw that Qiu Tong was still sitting in the car. He returned to her side and asked, “What’s the matter?”
Qiu Tong smiled. “I’ll wait for you here.”
There were many secrets inside the president’s residence. Even though Qiu Tong and Jin Yang were legally married now, she still didn’t want to have anything to do with the rich and powerful.
Qiu Tong knew that there were many problems behind those seemingly glamorous identities. She did not want to get too involved.
Jin Yang knew her well and did not force her. He brought Shao An to the office on the second floor as quickly as possible.
“Bring out all the documents and information on the human modification plan!”
“I need to see all the information and research labs in the shortest time possible…”
Jin Yang loosened his tie as he instructed with a frown.
Shao An was in a difficult position. “Those are all classified information of the highest grade. I have to report to Mr.. Jin Tao if I want to retrieve them…”
