Chapter 146: Summoning circle II

"So this is where the whole thing is taking place? Must say I expected something more extravagant."

Mordred spoke, seated on a horse and looking down at the sight before her.

She could see a man dressed in black hoodie and three other Individuals standing in front of him, their hands raised to the hair as they were chanting strange words.

These were the main ones in control of the entire plan. Kuronashi and the three wizards.

"My lord is really something else, he tracked them down using mana waves. We are not allowed to attack until they have completed the summoning. If only one position is ruined, the summoning will still be successful, but it will reduce the strength of the demon summoned."

Mordred shook her head, "Why does he want to summon the demon in the first place?"

Behind her were the army of knights she allowed to accompany her; 18 in number, each one well skilled in their respective areas.

Kuronashi.

Mordred couldn't keep her eyes off him.

"Keuiz, take the knights with you and cover every exit point to this place." She ordered.

"Right away Lady Mordred!"

The knight in question immediately acted, giving the rest orders and directing them to where they should go.

"Let's see how this turns out... Lord Ha Joon." Mordred smiled.

....

At another location, one of the four positions where the cult was performing the summoning ritual.

Artoria, Merlin, and Terra were positioned on another hill, looking down at the cloak people, as they were successfully pouring their mana into the circle.

They also received the same order, to stand guard and wait for the summoning circle to activate.

If the cult of Barbatos were going to summon any other monsters to act as minions for the demon king, Artoria and the rest were going to cut them down.

At the city, Raphtalia and the rescue department had begun to evacuate citizens from the area to avoid unnecessary casualties.

Alas, everyone in Telver city was prepared for what's to come. Doubts settled on their mind as to why their king would want them to allow the summoning to take place. Yet at the same time, the trust they had with him completely override it.

[Update, magic energy is being gathered to a single point, the summoning should proceed any moment from now.]

'Has everyone successfully evacuated?'

Ha Joon asked, walking down the empty street, the sound of people giving out orders from afar resounding.

[As of this moment, there are no citizens around you.]

'Very good, which means ...'

Ha Joon stopped, pulling off his royal robe and tossing it to the side.

'... I can go all out.'

Lyra stood in top of a building at a distance, observing what her master would do.

After all, as a dragon, seeing her master constantly prove to her that he is better than her in every way is a pride fuel.

Suddenly -

There was a spark over Telver city. The magic circle was activating sooner than it should have.

Ha Joon smiled. It could only mean that Sinex managed to take out one of the positions.

The look on the wizard's face was enough for anyone to know they were shocked-

From nowhere, a huge red magic circle constructed above the city.

"The summoning circle." Artoria blurted out.

"Are you sure we shouldn't help him? This is the demon king we are talking about." Merlin hinted, also looking up at the giant magic circle.

"I do not know."

The response was way too subtle, Merlin had to look at Artoria to make sure she was alright.

And the look on the queen's face was that of a worried woman.

"I know my husband has his limits, and I know for a fact I'm worried about his safety since he instructed no one to get involved. That said, he made it clear that he would win and return home safely, he wouldn't lie."

Merlin couldn't help but smile after hearing Artoria's words, "I still have a lot to learn from you."

Artoria looked at her, "learn from me?".

"Yes... Your highness." Merlin giggled a bit.

Terra abruptly pointed her finger to the front, "Terra can see people walking out of the light thingy."

They all looked towards the same direction, seeing skeleton undead monsters swarming out of the magic circle and racing towards them.

Which could only mean that every other position would have to fight the same monsters.

"Looks like they did summoned minions..." Merlin snapped her finger, allowing her magic stick to appear in her grasp.

"It would seem like it." Artoria did the same, a bright light engoged her grasp, only for her blade, Excalibur to appear.

Terra on the other hand, had already began to slid down the hill, racing towards the monster at top speed.

She didn't care about those with her, all she knew was Ha Joon gave her orders, and she planned to fulfill them to the last letter.

The monsters themselves were not patient enough for wait. They charged forward, while those who summoned them stood at the very back, watching their minions fight for them.

"Soldiers of Camelot! Do not let them get past this forest. Charge!!!" Artoria raised her blade to the sky.

Immediately, her soldiers responded.

**Ahhhhhhhhh!**

They raced forward, jumping down from the hill with loud yells.

Artoria and Merlin forward, launching their first attacks.

Water bullet!

Excalibur!

Their attacks clearing a good number of undead skeletons, giving a good path for the other soldiers to work themselves in, cutting the skeleton warriors from the opening in their formation.

Meanwhile...

"And I finally get to meet you... Demon of lord of Vanity."

Ha Joon said with a smile.

Standing in front of him, in white robes dancing as if they had a life of their own, was the demon lord himself.

He had long blonde hair, with red scary eyes and an intense aura that could easily kill anyone who wasn't strong enough to withstand the pure energy.

"Are you the one... That summoned me?"
