I Raised A Black Dragon

Chapter 73

“…Eleonora?”

The officer read the name, his brows furrowed in curiosity. The next moment, however, his eyes grew in horror and his face turned pale.

“Eleonora Asil!”

“……”

The officer, who had realized her identity, jumped in astonishment. The charges against Eleonora Asil were too heavy for Battuanu’s chief of security.

“Gee, Ji, report to the branch manager…!”

The chief scurried the desk to find the phone, but he was already a step behind the little dragon, who had sneaked on his back while he was inquiring about Park Noah’s identity and snatched the phone.

“Oh, oh? Kid!”

Park Noah was already dialing when the chief realized the phone was missing, and as soon as she heard the direct voice-messaging alarm for the entire Laurent Bureau of Investigation and Security, a stream of words poured from her lips.

“Sir Leonard, Sir. Honey, Darling? Are you listening? Your subordinate is trying to get me into custody. If you’re listening, please call Battuanu 1st District Public Security and ask them to clear me from charges. I’m going to be a suspect again!”

“Oh, dear.”  Next to her, Adrian groaned quietly upon hearing her desperate words.

“I didn’t get rid of my cold, I was stalked, and now I’m going to eat bean rice!” She exclaimed, throwing her hand in the air.

“Have you still got a cold?”

“This blond stalker made me completely out of shape because I couldn’t sleep a wink all night. The train operations were suspended, leaving me stranded. Why the hell are you so late? What?”

Park Noah pressed the handset closer to her ear and covered the other with her hand. Then, she spoke slowly again.

“Excuse me, butler?”

“Who is the butler?”

Steps were heard behind her. Suddenly, the handset was snatched from Park Noah’s hand. The voice message she had recorded was deleted with a beeping sound.

“You’re contacting the Bureau of Investigation and Security. Do you want me to lose face?”

I’m sure this voice is… Park Noah whipped her head around. She looked up, her eyes blinking blankly. Violet orbs were right above her face, staring straight at her. Despite the fear of nagging, he was the one Park Noah had missed the most.

“Ge… General Manager!” The chief immediately bowed ninety-degrees as if he was frightened at Kyle Leonard, who looked rather tired. The investigator glanced at the screen that the chief had put up, and then pressed the switch to turn it off.

“What are you doing with the security forces? I was hoping you’d stay unnoticed, but you’re doing not such a great job at it. If Muell had been questioned, it would have been discovered that he was an unregistered.”

“I couldn’t think that far, but when did you get here?” She asked, still perplexed at his sudden appearance. Kyle Leonard answered, clicking his tongue. “I just got here. Someone somewhere pinched into the phone in pairs.”

He flung the key he was holding, and one of the officers, who was scurrying after him, caught the key by a hair’s breadth.

“So how are you feeling? What do you mean by stalking? And…” He placed his hand on her forehead and glanced sideways.

“Why are you here? Minister.”

Park Noah followed the direction where his eyes turned. Then, she caught Adrian’s back trying to sneak back behind the pillar. She mumbled, frowning. “”The Minister”?”

“Minister.” Kyle Leonard repeated, as if confirming Park Noah’s hesitant words. “I asked you why you’re here now. Someone who had not, not once, responded to an emergency call in the last few days.”

“…….”

“I was wondering where you went on a long business trip, and you were in Battuanu?”

“…I didn’t want to step into the Bureau of Investigation and Security because I was afraid it would happen,” Adrian grumbled, straightening his back.

The eyes of the two men met fiercely. Meanwhile, Park Noah and Muell stared alternately at both sides with a blank face.

“Uh…”

“So Ellie, you and the General Manager?”

“Miss Noah, do you know the Minister of Magic?”
