Chapter 346: Domination Class Exposed, The Entire World is Watching
In the outside world.
Not only in Fellarbrug, but in all other countries in Rheria, something strange happened.
In every country, every town, and every corner, electronic devices suddenly flickered.
Phones, computers, billboards, and even holographic displays glitched for a second, then resumed, but not with their usual content.
Each screen turned a deep, impenetrable black.
People across schools, businesses, cafes, and homes exchanged confused looks.
The usual hustle fell silent, replaced by murmurs of concern and bewilderment.
Faces lit only by the cold light of the screens, they waited, wondering what was happening.
On every screen, a shadowed figure appeared, his outline vague but menacing, with two piercing crimson eyes that seemed to look directly into the soul of each viewer.
The feeling of being watched, of having something far more powerful than them seize control, settled over everyone.
"What the hell?" someone muttered.
"Is this some kind of hack?" asked another.
But there was no answer.
The figure's voice echoed suddenly, resonating not from the devices but seeming to whisper directly into each ear.
"Hello, humans."
The voice carried an otherworldly authority, chilling everyone in an instant.
Before anyone could react further, the figure raised its hand and snapped its fingers.
SNAP!
The world outside transformed in an instant.
The sky shifted, bleeding into a deep, unsettling crimson that spread across the horizon, casting a sinister glow over the entire landscape.
Sunlight dimmed as if absorbed by this red veil, leaving the world beneath it cast in an ominous glow.
It was as if the world itself was plunged into a living nightmare.
"AAAAH!"
"What's happening?"
Even the strongest of classifiers, those at level 600, 700 and up were confused.
What was happening to the world?!
In every corner of Rheria, panic erupted.
Cars screeched to a halt, people pointed to the sky in disbelief, and even newscasters stammered over their words as they struggled to describe the bizarre events unfolding around them.
Back to the broadcast, the Godless Demon's figure still filled every screen, his crimson eyes burning brighter.
His voice cut through the growing chaos with ease, grabbing everyone's attention.
"Welcome to the Grand Initiation," he said, "Today marks a new beginning. You may not understand yet, but you will soon."
In every city, in every gathering, people stared in stunned silence, their eyes glued to the broadcast.
The figure gave a chilling smile.
"Let's cut to the chase," he said, snapping his fingers once more.
The screens shifted, and five words appeared, large and ominous.
[Third Domination Trial: Corpse Festival]
Everyone's confusion only deepened as more words followed:
[Difficulty: Death]
[15 Participants.]
On the screen appeared 15 squares, displaying the faces of all the participants.
"Huh? Isn't that the CEO of the Amaterasu group?"
"That's Sora Gardenis!" another pointed.
"And that's Kai Algreen, the genius Artist!"
Powerful figures, faces known all across Rheria—these were the participants.
Shocked whispers spread as more faces were recognized.
And then... the broadcast shifted again.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
[Starfire - Eliminated by Follower.]
[Rightlef - Eliminated by CEO.]
[Mao - Eliminated by Follower.]
[Partner - Eliminated by the Mayor.]
[Mio - Eliminated by Father Hugo.]
[Dave - Eliminated by Follower.]
[Claire - Eliminated by Follower.]
[Shock - Eliminated by Follower.]
In seven of the fifteen boxes, gray-out effects started appearing, with red X's crossing out the faces.
The crowd gasped as one box after another was grayed out, the participants marked as eliminated.
[7 participants Alive.]
The 7 squares that remained were those of: Chosen, Lilith, Sora, CEO, Follower, Artist and Clever.
It was undeniable—the implication was that they had died.
"What... did they just say Starfire's dead?"
"Mio and Mao too? They were my favorites..."
"That Follower guy is insane, someone has to stop him..."
Then, another message appeared, jolting them from their shock:
[Do you want to watch the trial?]
[Yes] [No]
[The choice that receives the majority vote will determine the outcome.]
[If yes is selected, you will have access to watch the trial live from the perspective of any participant.]
Instantly, all those that shouted quieted down, gulping.
It felt unreal, like a twisted game, yet the allure of watching such a deadly trial was powerful.
Slowly, people began to vote, curiosity overriding their fear.
From teenagers to elders, from the poor to the rich, everyone made their choice.
And in the end...
[Results are in.]
[99.99% of the population has voted for 'Yes.']
[You will be able to follow the trial live now.]
[Enjoy, for the world is in their hands.
A haunting silence settled over the crowd as the screens turned black once more, only to reawaken with the images of a crumbling city with a crimson sky.
In the background, they could see a massive tower.
And then, a prompt appeared on their screens.
[Which participant do you want to follow?]
The list appeared: [Sora, Clever, Lilith, CEO, Artist, Follower, Stark.]
With trembling hands, people selected, and it was no surprise that Follower, the one who had already claimed multiple lives, attracted the most attention.
The allure of such a dangerous figure was irresistible to many.
...
Meanwhile, in the Domination Association headquarters, a place only known to those in the highest circles of power, the event had brought a storm of panic.
"Boss!" one operative shouted. "This is unprecedented. We've never seen anything like this."
The middle-aged boss, Oliver, narrowed his eyes.
His gray hair and the weight of countless years of experience made him an intimidating figure, yet even he couldn't hide his shock.
"BOSS?!"
"THIS ISN'T NORMAL!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP, ALL OF YOU," he shouted, "I know this isn't normal, but we can't do anything."
The other domination users/staff fell silent, their fear evident but controlled as they awaited further orders.
"The entire world voted, and they now all heard of the term domination trial, plus, it's a death difficulty trial, so it doesn't matter who's in it, they are all going to die."
"But chief, the problem is that the entire world will know about them... no... about us," a beige haired woman sighed.
Oliver's gaze hardened, "Doesn't matter. Whatever is happening in that trial, it's unlike any other we've seen.
We have to watch and observe. There's something... ominous about this. It's as if these participants, as if this trial, is a threat to the entire world."
No one dared to speak, the weight of Oliver's words sinking in.
"Way to say it, boss," only one figure laugh through it all: Juan, the very same guy that first tried to get Stark to join the association.
"We may be the strongest Domination users alive, but even we have limits. Watch and learn. I don't know what awaits us if these participants fail, but my instincts tell me it won't end well."
"..."
All the domination users inside the [Domination Association] were strong, but many hadn't even entered their third trial yet.
Even Oliver was only level 200.
And once he confirmed there was no domination trial at level 200, he believed that it meant there wasn't anything beyond that.
It became too difficult to level up, and he had the strength of a level 1000 classifier already, so there was no need to go any further.
He had all the experienced and knowledge about the domination class he needed, but something like that had never happened before.
He turned to the screens, which showed the remaining participants.
There were only seven left.
"The whole world is watching..." Oliver whispered, "Don't disappoint us. Domination users. It is a death trial, but I hope at least one of you survives."
With that, he and the rest of the operatives settled in to watch, their fear tempered by a sense of pride and challenge.
Across Rheria: Fellaburg, Ostount, Lampod and all other countries, hundreds of millions of eyes fell on their screens, watching.
And so...
[You are currently watching the third domination trial.]
Ding!
Their screens finally showed the participants they selected.
[One final warning to you all.]
A text appeared in front of everyone's eager eyes.
[If every participant dies.]
[Then... well, let's just say there won't be much to observe of this world anymore.]
No participant had transformed yet, but if all of them died, they would instantly transform into moonscorched beings in the real world, rivalling level 700-800 classifiers.
The lives of millions were at stake, at this point.
