Chapter 473: One Sun's Power
Chapter 473: One Sun's Power
Everyone stared at Jung as she explained what happened and who she actually was.
"I am from the pure line of ancient blood that was responsible for the protection of the Maidens," Jung said. "After the Twelve Sun's massacre, the Maidens fell into a deep slumber while simultaneously receiving a mysterious power feom their dead lovers.
"Their bodies crystalized and enlarged, creating the giant crystal statues we knew," Jung continued. "My clan was the first of them people to see the twelve statues where the massacre took place. It was then that Sheeva ordered us to hide the Maidens and give one of us the power to unlock it when the time comes."
"That power" Elliot said. "That's what you have now, right?"
"Yes," Jung said. "Sheeva designed this power like it was cultivation, it can be taught to the younger generations. It was then that our clan hid ourselves in the mountains, waiting for the right time to awaken the Maidens."
"But when was the right time?" Lance asked. "Your bloodline has been living for thousands of years in secret, when did you know that it's time?"
Jung sighed, "It's when the Tenth Six Hundred Years would commence. That's when we'll awaken the Maidens one by one. It just so happened that we were found by DuDu. I escaped our city alone. That's where Ilwoo found me in the forest. I asked him to take me somewhere far, far enough that the evil can't track us."
Junko scoffed after hearing this. "So your role was to wake us up in the Tenth Six Hundred Years. But you have to kill us so you could be an Absolute, right? Whoever planned this wanted us to bleed to death. She froze us just so she could make use of us."
"That's where you're wrong," Jung said. "When you were in your crystalized state, there was one thing that was special. Your hearts were a separate crystal from the rest of your body. Even when your body's size was enlarged by twenty times, your heart remained the same."
"And that was the material for the Absolutehood," Elliot whispered. "You prevented the Candidates or anyone else from becoming an Absolute using the Maidens!"
"Bingo," Jung said. "But we have to wait for the tenth six hudred years because this was the time that the Almighty and the Forsaken could not interfere with the race for the Absolutehood."
"The Forsaken is trapped between rifts in space and time," Mammon said. "You mean this?"
"Yes," Jung replied. "I don't know how Sheeva could've foreseen something so far from us, but she did. Our clan waited for three thousand years. That's five rotations of the six hundred years, just for this moment."
"Still," Zeus crossed his legs. "Why did Sheeva have to wait until now when she could've awakened them before, long before the Tenth Six Hundred Years."
"Maybe because of our powers," Junko said. "Alone, a Maiden barely has any, but together, when all of us combine our powers, we can create miracles."
Everyone now turned to Junko. The Maidens decided for her to become the representative for them. Junko started to lead the Maidens after they discussed it in Inferno where they sought refuge a few days back.
"We can charge our powers into one person and let them have the power of the One Sun," Junko said. "Maybe this is why Sheeva made you wait. She wanted this generation to fight off the next Absolute, knowing that they were made of evil."
"One wanted to rule over everything and the other is obsessed with my friend," Connor pursed his lips. "That Sheeva woman was really smart."
They laughed at this and stared to formulate another plan. This time, their plan was focused on bringing their own candidate. This person was going to lead their army into fighting the Candidates.
The first one was Zeus. As the oldest and most experienced Adventurer, they saw Zeus as the one capable of leading them into this war. He had great prowess in both combat and analytics that it suited him to inherit the power of the One Sun.
The next one is the Eternal of Terra himself, Lance. He was the one who had the highest number of people who agreed with. Though he lacked experience, his power wasn't too far from Zeus especially now that he was awakened as the Enteral.
Added to the fact that he was the actual son of the One Sun, everyone started to agree that Lance should have the power instead. There was also the fact that the prophecy might be speaking of him. The boy who has the power of light and darkness, Lance was seen as the current best candidate.
The third and last one was Frederick. The One Sun had the power of heat and flame, something that was compatible with Frederick's affinity. He has the flame power and he could easily adjust to the power of the One Sun if he was chosen to be the one who inherits it.
In terms of power, Frederick was stronger than Lance currently. He also has more experience and he has techniques that gives him an edge over Zeus and Lance at the same time. There were also a lot of people who was nodding at Frederick too seeing as he could conjure high intensity flames in short amounts of time.
"What now?" Elliot asked after the candidates to the power of One Sun was announced. He was sitting on his chair along with his friends plus Daniel, Iris, Irus, and Alice. "We have to wait for their decision?"
"We vote for the one who wins," Lance said. "But I don't want it to be me. I am already an Eternal, meaning I could train myself and power up to catch up to the Absolute's power. Then we can give the power of the One Sun to someone else, that way we have more combatants."
"True," Irus said. "I wanted it to be Elliot because he's a strong one too, you know? He created miracles before, defeated Eternals. He's someone who's strong enough to become one. Plus he's really insecure right now because he's the only one in his friend group who's not an Eternal."
Elliot scoffed and rolled his eyes.. "Oh, shut up."
