Chapter 451: Irus vs the Snake
Chapter 451: Irus vs the Snake
Eight slashes and a flower that exploded. After Elliot's attack, Xing was left falling to the ground with a loud thud, the soman coughing in pain as she tried to stood but failed.
"Xing!" Qing yelled in anger. She walked over her sister while growling at the people in front of her. "You'll pay for this"
"Enough!"
Suddenly, a dark cloud enveloped the island. An ominous aura of darkness and sorrow filled the air as the people in the island scrunched their faces as they felt the weird sensation.
Irus appeared out of the blue. He stepped forward and pointed his hands at the twins, "Dark Chains."
A blast of a clanking sound erupted from his finger and the twins were now trapped in a black chain that surrounded their bodies like snakes. They growled at Irus and tried to use their powers against the bind, but they failed.
"Where is Hao?" Irus asked. "I want to see her in person and tell her all the things I want to tell her."
"No one will dare disturb the awakening of the one true power," Qing screeched. "You're all going to stay here until the Sun steps forward again."
"Where. Is. Hao?" Irus asked, emphasizing each and every word that came out of his lips. His presence was screaming true power. Even Elliot who was Irus's ally was scared by how powerful the aura being exuded the demon was.
"Irus" Elliot tried to call out, but Irus simply raised his hand to stop him.
"We're in a tight schedule here and you three decided to ruin the schedule even more," Irus said. "Do you even know how much the implications of your actions reflect to the attempt to save this world of yours?"
"We know," the twins said at the same time. "That is why this ritual is necessary. Because when the Sun wakes up, everything will be cleared."
Irus sighed, "You keep mentioning the Sun. The One Sun is dead and there's nothing more to awaken."
"That is a lie," the twins chorused again. This time, an ominous feeling came out of their bodies. Elliot had to nudge Irus's clothes to pull the demon back as watched the glowing red aura seep out of the women like they were smoke. "What we're doing now is saving the world. We need the Sun. And Lady Hao is making sure that we are going to have the Sun."
The twins were sitting back to back with each other as the black chains wrapped around them. They suddenly threw their headd back on each of their shoulders while their eyes rolled to the back of their heads. Their lips slightly parted as their bodies started to changed color.
"They're going to morph," Irus whispered. The demon raised both his arms on either side of him and conjured a giant shield behind him. He looked at Elliot and smiled. "You owe me big."
The twins' bodies started to melt and conjoined. Their bodies became a glue-like substance before shifting into a giant form, a giant two-headed snake. Its scales were red and its body was the size of the island itself. The eyes were made of rubies while the tongues were blades.
"Oh," Hope chuckled. He stepped out of the shield and started to shift when Irus stopped him. "And why not?"
"If you also shift, what will happen to this island?" Irus asked. "If you try to shift too, two giant beasts would be stepping on this island. Do you think it can handle that?"
"But I'll fly," Hope tried to argue, but Irus only gave him a deadpan. "No."
Hope stepped back into the shield with a pout. Elliot smiled at him and said, "It's okay. Let Irus do this."
"Fine," Hope sighed. "I guess he can handle that fifty foot snake on his own."
Irus laughed at this. As his chains that once tied the twins down break into pieces, and the snake fully became aware of its surroundings, Irus raised one hand with four fingers pointing out. "Give me this much minutes."
Within a split second, the demon vanished and reappeared above the snake. Irus conjured a giant shadow dagger that he swung along with his body as he approached the snake below him.
His attack did not inflict any damage to the snake though. The snake instead raised both its heads and created a helmet made of yellow light, shielding its head along with its long body.
This action made Irus laugh. He leaped up once more, removed his black dagger and replaced it with a sword. The sword was much larger than the dagger and it looked heavier.
The pommel was a skull of a bird and the root of the neck transitioned into a large skull of a dragon that opened its mouth to hold the blade of the sword. The blade was a purple metal with blackish edge, sharp enough to slice even the hardest metals in any realm.
Irus slashed his blade through the shield of the snake, successfully cutting it. He took a step back as the snake recovered it shield and slammed its head against him. Irus defended by griping both his hands with the handle of the sword.
After blocking the attack of the snake, the beast retaliated by raising its head back. It then conjured a giant yellow sphere that was as hot as the surface of the sun. Irus laughed as he watched the shield of the snake being devoured by the attack.
"You're going all out, huh?" Irus smirked. "Well, I guess it's time for me to go all out too."
The snake slashed both its heads to shoot the attack but Irus was the first one to approach it. The demon placed his hand just under the the snake's head and they suddenly vanished.
Elliot's eyes widened. He looked around, but there wasn't anything there anymore. The heat from the snake's attack was also gone, as if it didn't exist at all.
"What the hell?" Elliot could only ask himself.
