I Hijacked The Timeline

Chapter 20

Love Will Only Affect the Speed With Which I Draw My Sword

Star City Academy, library.

After a morning of studying, Feng Qi had gained a new understanding of cultivation. However, it was only an improvement in the contents of what he had learned. It was obviously unrealistic to become an expert in one go.

There was no cultivation exchange class today, so he planned to have lunch first and continue studying in the library in the afternoon.

Just as he got up, a figure blocked his path.

He was a young man about 17 or 18 years old. He was extremely handsome and had a gentle sense of beauty. His ebony eyes were fixed on him. Then, he smiled and stretched out his hand.

“Hello, my name is Lin Ran. I had the luck and pleasure of listening to your lecture yesterday. Your explanation of body techniques was really exciting.”

“Mm? Lin Ran?”

A look of surprise appeared on Feng Qi’s face.

This name reminded him of the exchange student from the Winter Academy that the students on the Star City Forum had praised recently.

“Are you Lin Ran, the exchange student from Winter Academy?” Feng Qi asked.

“I didn’t expect you to have heard of me. I’m ashamed.” Lin Ran smiled and scratched his head. As he spoke, he looked at the book in Feng Qi’s hand, curious about what Feng Qi usually read.

However, when he saw the book titled Intermediate Advancement in Cultivation Techniques Research – Volume 3, he appeared a little confused.

In Lin Ran’s opinion, Feng Qi had his own unique understanding of body techniques and had a very thorough understanding of cultivation. He could even form his own school of thought. However, at this moment, he was actually reading the basic books of cultivation. This clearly did not make sense.

However, Lin Ran immediately thought of a reason for Feng Qi.

Only with a solid foundation could one truly open up a brand new cultivation path. As expected of a senior.

At this thought, Lin Ran looked at Feng Qi with admiration.

“Senior, I’ve memorized the contents of the Ferocious Tiger Fist that you explained yesterday, but there are still many things that I don’t understand. I hope to receive your guidance.”

As he spoke, Lin Ran took out a black notebook from somewhere and said excitedly.

“You can ask me if you don’t understand anything, but don’t call me senior… Also, I’m going to have lunch now. Come to the library to find me in the afternoon.” Feng Qi was a little embarrassed in the face of the enthusiastic Lin Ran.

He didn’t know much about Lin Ran, but from the comments of the students on the forum, he was a very talented student in cultivation technique research. Like Old Wang, he had been accepted by the Tiger Soul Research Institute before he graduated.

Therefore, Feng Qi had a good impression of Lin Ran and was willing to explain some of the contents of the Ferocious Tiger Fist to him, hoping that it would help him grow.

“I’m hungry too. Why don’t we have lunch together?” Lin Ran suggested.

Since he had decided to interact with Lin Ran, Feng Qi did not refuse the invitation to have lunch with him and immediately agreed.

After putting the book back on the shelf, he and Lin Ran left the library and walked to the cafeteria.

On the way, Lin Ran was very excited and kept talking about his admiration for him.

This made Feng Qi very speechless. He had wanted to be friends with Lin Ran, but now he felt like he had accepted a bootlicker.

It was already past mealtime when they arrived at the academy’s cafeteria. Most of the students had left, but Mu Qing was still sitting in the north corner of the restaurant, rain or shine. Her table was filled with food as usual.

After grabbing a tray and filling it with the food he wanted to eat, Feng Qi walked to the table where Mu Qing was.

Seeing this, Lin Ran immediately followed.

After putting down the plate in front of Mu Qing, he sat down. At this moment, Lin Ran decisively sat beside him.

Mu Qing looked up and was not surprised to see Feng Qi. What surprised her was that there was another person at the table.

Accustomed to being alone, Mu Qing seemed a little uncomfortable, but she did not show it on her face. She lowered her head and continued to eat, not even greeting Feng Qi.

“Hello, Senior Sister. My name is Lin Ran. Nice to meet you.” Before Feng Qi could speak, Lin Ran introduced himself and politely extended his hand.

Mu Qing looked up at Lin Ran, then lowered her head coldly and continued eating.

Lin Ran slowly retracted his right hand, which was half raised in the air. He turned to look at Feng Qi with an awkward expression.

“Senior, can you finish so much food? Although the food in the academy is free, it’s shameful to waste it…”

“Don’t talk when you’re eating.” Feng Qi glared at the talkative Lin Ran, grabbed an egg tart, and stuffed it into his mouth.

Realizing that Feng Qi and Mu Qing were ignoring him, Lin Ran looked at his tray.

Compared to Feng Qi and Mu Qing’s beast-like eating methods, Lin Ran was very refined. He held his chopsticks and chewed slowly the entire time.

But soon, he couldn’t be elegant anymore.

Feng Qi and Mu Qing’s appetites were unbelievable to him. The food piled up on the table was decreasing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

He even suspected that the people sitting beside him were not humans, but two domain monsters.

After Feng Qi finished all the food on his plate, he grabbed the steak on Mu Qing’s plate and stuffed it into his mouth. Then, he stopped eating.

Mu Qing was already used to this and could not even be bothered to look up.

“Senior, are you full?” Lin Ran noticed that Feng Qi had stopped eating and stuck his head out to ask.

“It’s not easy to digest if you eat too much. This is enough.”

Looking at the unconcealed surprise on Lin Ran’s face, Feng Qi wanted to laugh because he was far inferior compared to Mu Qing.

“You use a lot of brain power, so you need a lot of nutrition. I understand.”

At this moment, Lin Ran automatically thought of a reason for Feng Qi’s huge appetite.

Lin Ran’s image as a bootlicker deepened in his heart. Feng Qi could no longer compare him to Old Wang.

“Senior Sister, we’re full. Let’s have dinner together.” After eating and drinking his fill, Feng Qi picked up his tray and prepared to leave.

Lin Ran also stood up.

Upon hearing Feng Qi’s words, Mu Qing did not even raise her head as she continued to stuff food into her mouth. Her cheeks that kept twitching looked very cute, but her expression was still cold, looking very unapproachable.

However, Feng Qi felt that this was just Mu Qing’s disguise to protect herself.

On the way to the library, Lin Ran couldn’t help but ask curiously,

“Senior, are you pursuing that senior? She doesn’t seem to like you?”

Faced with Lin Ran’s gossip, Feng Qi felt helpless.

He came into contact with Mu Qing purely for the purpose of making friends. At the same time, he wanted to extinguish the thought of destroying the world in Mu Qing’s heart. He did not have any other ideas.

After all, he still had a big dream of saving the world. How could he be held back by love?

Love would only affect the speed with which he draws his sword.
