Chapter 92: Sparron continent war (1)
Chapter 92: Sparron continent war (1)
Felix didn't know the way to the Sparron continent but that wasn't a problem considering he would move along with the army, as for preparations they needed to be done thoroughly so they wouldn't end up in trouble when they would invade the continent.
Felix first went to his inn so he could eat something and rest in a proper environment for a short time before he met up with Lindo and Manitola at the army barracks.
There Lindo waved to him as he patted a spot beside him and Manitola so he could sit there, all of the army personnel were sitting at tables waiting for someone, the army barracks were quite wide and tall as they were housing around 100,000 troops in total, most of them were above average recruits ready to go to war at a moment's notice.
A podium stood a few meters away from all of the tables where the troops were waiting for the person to explain to them the strategy and breakthrough the alliance had made against the weapons of the Sparron continent.
They waited for around 10 minutes before a figure that wore red armor walked in, it was Landers!
Felix hadn't seen him in a long while and he was rather happy he was still ok.
Landers smiled towards Felix and Lindo's direction before coughing to take the attention of every troop in the room.
A projection appeared behind him which showed a detailed explanation of the weapons that the Sparron continent troops were currently using.
"Ok so for starters they have these Hextech canons which we have bought quite a few as well, but unlike ours, theirs are one version more advanced and they also gained a few other gadgets that we couldn't get from the special vendor."
"One of the first gadgets is this."
Landers pointed to a round green ball with a white pin at the top:
"This is called a hextech bomb and it can store a huge amount of hex energy from the air, when the pin at the top is removed a timer starts and after a few seconds all of the hex energy is released in a fiery supernova of energy, the damage is to the extent that even a captain level expert can't handle being hit head-on!"
Then he pointed to a long-bladed knife, the blade's color was rainbow and the handle was pure white, the combination looked rather bad:
"This is their melee weapons, they are coated with an unknown poison that once entered your nervous system would transform you into a living dead under their control."
"Another thing about this knife is that it can lengthen its blade even further than it already is."
"These are all of the weapons they have shown up till now, it's unknown if they have any other trump cards under their sleeves but we will need to be careful."
"Now that you are familiar with the weapons of the enemy, it's time to explain to you the weaknesses of each of them."
Landers pointed to the canon as he explained:
"The canons while strong they don't have a fast firing speed, while their power is high they have a big recharge time after they enter overheating, they start this overheating time after around 3 shots."
"Another weakness is that they don't have any good shooters, for now, they couldn't train them so suddenly even if they prepared beforehand for the invasion, so their aim is rather poor, however as things proceed this weakness will disappear so we have to make sure we hit them hard and fast."
After he finished the explanation for the canon he moved towards the bomb illustration:
"This thing is very volatile and could easily become a weapon in our hands as well, we need people with a good aim to shoot them with small projectiles while they are in the hands of the resistance members. Any direct hits would trigger a reaction in the shell making the bomb explode prematurely without the pin being removed."
And lastly for the knife:
"While the knife can lengthen itself to impale you with the toxin, due to the way the blade was made its rather brittle and easy to break, as long as the blade doesn't cut you to insert the poison in your bloodstream you can easily break it by hitting it in the middle with a weapon of your choice, all you have to do is make sure the knife doesn't cut you or you are a goner, there is no antidote and we will have to strike you down."
Landers finished his explanation of all of the weapons as the projection behind him disappeared and he clapped, the troops were talking with each other already commenting about the high-tech weapons that the Sparron continent got their hands on, they were all rather intrigued about them and they couldn't wait to fight them head-on to see what they were all about.
Landers coughed to retake their attention as he said:
"In this situation, the Haron continent had been nice enough to lend us their flying device so we can arrive at the battlefield at the quickest speed possible."
"We shall go now!"
Landers waved his hand as he gestured towards the door.
The whole barracks started to shake as the troops got up at once leaving the barracks in a military march, outside Felix saw something that made him rather interested, it was a gigantic ship that he didn't see when he came to the barracks, it was painted fully black and it was made from an unknown material, it didn't seem to be made from the same materials as the buildings in the human's place.
It was not a human product? Those meddling ravens could create something like this? Why didn't he see anything like this in Wu Xiao's memories...
As Felix wondered about these things the troops were already being loaded up into the flying ship.
Landers came from behind as he looked at Felix, he was the last one to leave the barracks, he saw how Felix stood there petrified in front of the ship and he couldn't help but chuckle as he asked:
"First time you saw such a technological marvel?"
Felix nodded, it was true that he had seen some impressive things at the humans but he wasn't shown anything voluntarily nor did he see something so big and it could also fly?
"Don't be scared, let's get in, it will take us around 5 days to reach the Sparron continent."
Felix took a few steps on the ramp that leads up to the entrance of the ship and then entered along with Landers, Lindo waved at him and asked:
"Had enough of looking at the ship?"
Felix nodded, he was pretty interested in the ship because if he was honest it looked quite cool.
"Ok now, that everyone is seated we can talk with the captain so we can lead off!"
Landers left to the captain's room as the ship started to shake and rise, finally after a short while they were in the air!
There were some windows placed around the ship and Felix, Lindo, Manitola, and a few other people were seated near one of the windows, Felix looked through the window only to see a sea of white, he had never been so high in the air and it felt quite nice.
Felix enjoyed the feeling of flying while Lindo's face looked rather green, it seemed unlike Felix he was feeling sick due to the height, Manitola was massaging his back in a circular motion to help him relieve the sickness but suddenly his eyes bulged out, Manitola understood what that meant as she took out a paper bag and made him vomit into it.
After he released the contents in his stomach Lindo looked better as his sickly countenance took a turn for the better, he sighed as he looked at Felix who was entranced with watching the white fluffy clouds and decided against bothering him after he saw how entranced he was.
Felix felt something within him stir as he looked at the rapidly moving clouds in front of him, it was a feeling that he had never experienced before, he imagined himself being the one flying through the clouds, the one that went through at rapid speeds doing a bunch of tricks and then settling on a fluffy cloud to meditate or even sleep.
He wanted to fly, this was a wish of his that came just by looking at his current surroundings but it was a genuine wish, he didn't know why he felt like this but he liked it, this was the first time Felix had a pure-hearted wish, this was the first time Felix had a goal regardless of how foolish he thought it was. And he enjoyed this feeling, up till now he was drifting from place to place without a goal in mind but now he had a small one... he wanted to fly, even if it was for a few seconds he wanted to be in the clouds by himself, without the use of a ship, he wanted to feel the puffy clouds on his fur.
He started daydreaming as the ship went along the air currents going towards the slaughter-filled battlefield filled with profit hungered monsters who wanted to capture and enslave some people who were weaker than them and the weaker party who wanted to defend their family and land...
