Chapter 23
C23 – Shocking Strength
Is this the new palm technique that Zhou Jibo developed from the Gravel Palm?
Zhou Kaile, the three senior Elders, two other Elders, Zhou Youqing, Zhou Tong, and others were filled with shock and awe.
Zhou Jibo truly possessed boundless potential. To think he could transform the unrefined Gravel Palm into a more formidable technique!
Zhou Chulang and the other two senior Elders exchanged glances, their eyes reflecting their astonishment. This technique appeared to have ascended to the first grade.
Zhou Leng watched as Zhou Jibo practiced the Mountain Splitting Palm. Was this the very technique Zhou Jibo used to slay his father? And now he had innovated yet another new technique?
How could one even begin to describe his frightening talent and potential?
All eyes were fixed on Zhou Jibo. Having completed the Mountain Splitting Palm, he transitioned to the low-grade Profound Rank Mountain Suppressing Palm.
Instantly, his presence surged to a whole new level!
A faint chill emanated from Zhou Jibo’s palms as frost began to form. The spacious hall was suddenly enveloped in a coolness. Those standing near Zhou Jibo could distinctly feel the cold, and they saw the white frosty mist rising from his hands.
Zhou Kaile watched, utterly baffled by the spectacle.
The Third and Fourth Elders were struck dumb, while Zhou Youqing, Zhou Tong, and the others looked on with curiosity. How, on such a sunny and balmy day, could he conjure frost?
Zhou Leng was completely dumbfounded. This display of martial prowess was beyond his comprehension and imagination.
What an oddity! It’s no wonder Zhou Qian was dispatched in mere moments!
Their amazement paled in comparison to the seasoned Zhou Chulang, Zhou Shu, and Zhou Shuang.
Zhou Chulang’s body shook, and Zhou Shu and Zhou Shuang had tears streaming down their reddened eyes.
“At last, the Zhou family is poised to reclaim its status as the premier family of Icefair City!” Zhou Chulang declared, his voice quivering as he captured the attention of all present. “Zhou Jibo will be the pivotal figure to revitalize our entire clan and lead us to a new era of prosperity.”
“Esteemed Elders, what exactly is happening here?” Zhou Kaile inquired, “Zhou Jibo’s palm technique is undeniably impressive, but since when can palm techniques manifest ice and snow?”
“The reason for that is Icefair’s limited scope,” Zhou Chulang explained. “If you had more opportunities to venture out, you’d realize just how feeble Icefair’s ninth-layer Acquired Stage warriors are, and how absurdly inadequate an Innate Stage warrior is in comparison.”
“The palm technique demonstrated earlier has already attained the Yellow Rank, and the current one might have reached the upper echelon of the Yellow Rank, perhaps even the lower tier of the Profound Rank.”
What?
Profound Rank’s lower tier?
Zhou Kaile and the rest were dumbfounded. It had never crossed their minds that Zhou Jibo’s palm technique could potentially be a Profound Rank martial skill!
Zhou Leng was utterly shell-shocked. In that instant, he fully grasped the undeniable fact of his father’s defeat.
Zhou Chulang shook his head, remarking, “What significance does a low-grade Profound Rank martial skill hold? You should be contemplating the implications of Zhou Jibo’s ability to manifest frost and snow.”
“In this world, those of ordinary talent can only hope to wield a naturally potent attack through years of arduous cultivation and a less-than-stellar mental cultivation method.”
“Conversely, individuals of genius caliber, endowed with an exceptional bone root and a supremely advanced mental cultivation method, can harness natural forces through their vitality and true essence, even during the Innate and Acquired Stages.”
“The fact that Zhou Jibo can conjure frost and snow signifies not only his exceptional bone root but also that his mental cultivation method is of extraordinary caliber. It’s at least of the Profound Rank, if not soaring to the Earth Rank.”
With that, Zhou Chulang cast a profound glance at Zhou Leng and chose to say no more.
Confronted with a figure whom the entire Zhou family revered and who was destined for great things, what path would Zhou Leng take?
Zhou Leng’s father, Zhou Qian, had conspired with enemies, bringing turmoil to the family—his actions tantamount to courting death.
Would Zhou Leng opt to follow in his father’s doomed footsteps, or choose to survive?
Shaken to his core, Zhou Leng was engulfed in despair and confusion: He had finally come face to face with Zhou Jibo’s strength. Yet, vengeance now seemed like a distant dream. Even in his naivety, he recognized the futility of seeking revenge now or in any future.
What was his next move?
Upon hearing Zhou Chulang’s account, Zhou Kaile was ecstatic. The Third and Fourth Elders, among others, were astounded. They were left with a mix of awe and joy.
With Zhou Jibo in their midst, the Zhou family was bound to grow stronger and more prosperous.
It was no surprise that Zhou Qian and Zheng Kang, two warriors of the Acquired ninth layer, were effortlessly slain by Zhou Jibo.
We’ve witnessed Zhou Jibo’s talent, yet we never realized he was a genius of this caliber!
Zhou Jibo ceased his Gravel Palm technique and, with a flick of his wrist, drew the five-foot Blood Stripe Sword, commencing his sword practice.
As he demonstrated, the sword’s ice crystals shimmered, filling the hall with a chilling mist. Not only were Zhou Chulang and the two Elders dumbstruck, but the Third and Fourth Elders, along with everyone else, were also taken aback. Zhou Leng’s eyes grew dimmer, and even Zhou Kaile’s joy was supplanted by astonishment.
My heavens!
His palm technique wasn’t even his peak; it could be stronger still!
Zhou Jibo’s most formidable martial skill wasn’t his palm technique, but his swordsmanship!
The Earth Rank low-grade Blood Stripe Sword, the Earth Rank medium-grade Six Yin Heart Technique, and the Profound Rank top-grade Cool Breeze Bright Moon Sword Technique’s fourth layer.
Each of these items was a rarity in Icefair City, unheard of by many.
Even in the capital, they were treasures hard to come by, coveted by major sects and Holy Lands alike. Yet here they were, all converging in Zhou Jibo’s hands, working in unison.
In the enveloping cold, it felt as though they had stepped into a frigid night. They could almost see the moon above, feel the gentle breeze, and watch the moonlight cascade down upon a lone figure brandishing his sword.
Suddenly, Zhou Jibo sheathed his sword, standing alone with only the cool breeze and bright moon for company.
Before them stood only the breeze, the moon, and the swordsman.
A wave of cold washed over them, causing Zhou Tong, Zhou Youqing, and the others to shiver uncontrollably. Even Zhou Kaile couldn’t suppress a sneeze, snapping everyone back to reality.
Emerging from the midst of the chilling mist with a sword in hand, Zhou Jibo approached with a smile gracing his lips.
“How do you all feel?”
Silence fell upon the group; they were at a loss for words. Given Zhou Jibo’s formidable prowess, they had no place to critique him!
Zhou Leng dropped to his knees, bowing deeply before Zhou Jibo. “All I desire is to care for my mother and ensure her twilight years are comfortable.”
Zhou Jibo regarded him with a serene gaze and gave a slight nod. “This is your final opportunity. Make sure you value it.”
With profound respect, Zhou Leng bowed his head again. “Yes, I’ve understood, Young Master Zhou.”
