Chapter 189: The rumor put the Gu family right in the middle of the spotlight. (1)
Everybodys focus was on Gu Xi. A stage like this was pretty, to say the least, but still seem too plain, especially immediately after a dance performance that made peoples hearts raced.
It feels a little lacking.
Yeah, somewhat of an empty feel
Many in the audiences started talking about it. Some even felt that this performance was too long.
This piece is not too long, right?
I dont know. I heard that they had cut off a little in the middle but, even so, at least still 2 ~ 3 minutes, if you ask me.
That long? That would be awkward leaving in the middle It was, after all, the final performance, and people were already worn out.
Before that person was even done talking, two decisive notes came from the piano abruptly.
The very next second, everyone at the venue turned their attention toward the stage.
What caught their attention was not just Gu Xis piano performance but the light that just flashed through the almost pitch-black stage briefly.
Was, was the light? I wasnt just seeing things, was I?
No, I saw it too. What is going on?
Gu Xi did not let the chattering noises from beneath the stage distract her. The tips of her fingers ran through the piano keys and a string of notes followed.
Along with the notes from the piano, the light that flashed past briefly earlier reappeared, staying longer this time and also had more varieties to it. It allowed more time for the audiences in the auditorium to have a better look.
That is beautiful! exclaimed someone from beneath the stage but they quickly threw their hand over their mouth, worried that they would distract the performance on stage.
The stunned look, however, remained.
As the piano notes poured out, the lights on stage became more and more colorful.
It wasnt just simple light effects.
The lights changed with the music as though they had lives of their own.
The prelude was slow and the lights flowed like a river in the air, smooth and mystical.
As the pace of the piece picked up, the halo, too, began meshing together and dancing joyously.
That very moment, the normal melody from the piano seemed to be empowered with magic and drove the lights to change constantly.
This, this was stunning. The one who, just a moment ago, was skeptical about whether a piano performance would be too boring, now had their mouth dropped open and were even stuttering.
By gosh, this looked like the aurora that I saw at the North Pole a year ago. No, I mean, prettier than the aurora.
This is too fantastical.
Oh shoot. How were they able to do that?!
The audiences would not have been so shocked if it was just the lights changing with the music.
But everyone quickly realized that the lights did not only appear on the screen behind the stage, but also floating in the air.
What kind of mystical power is this
Its hologram, right?
Ive been to a holographic concert in Country J before and even that wasnt as impressive as this one. This was too real and too stunning. Being there in person felt like there were surrounded by the lights.
So glad I didnt take off.
Yeah. This was for sure a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
That very moment, the audiences finally realized why Gu Xis program was called Forever Night Performance (piano piece) instead of Forever Night Piano Performance.
This was, undoubtedly, a complete vision and auditory feast, alright?
Zhang Xianjing and Yu Li from our class totally missed out! Someone grumbled softly.
Many would, doubtless, be sharing recording of this performance in the forum, but how would a video captured with the cellphone be measure up to experiencing this live?
Everyone had thought that Gu Xis performance would crash and burn. Who would have thought that it had, instead, brought the closing events to a new height?
In light of absolutely stunning, the previous performance seemed plain all of a sudden.
This piano piece, after the modification by the Art Committee girl from Gu Xis class, was less than three minutes long in total.
Gu Xis fingertips danced over the piano keys when everyone was completely submerged in their experience and forgot about the time. The notes from the piano stopped abruptly after one last series of fast and cheerful notes.
Disappearing along with the piano music was the lights in the air.
With the lights gone, the stage had, once again, returned to its original darkness.
