Chapter 31: Creating a Party (1)
Chapter 31: Creating a Party (1)
"It's quest time then", Adam said expectantly.
Soon, Adam exited the Guild's base and went towards the Western part of the city, where the Chosen's Association building was at.
It took Adam almost 20 minutes of walking to reach the building, and unlike the Rogue's Guild base, the Chosen's Association building was a huge facility!
It was a ten-story building with each floor being the same size as the Rogue's Guild's 1st floor.
The structure itself also looked impressive due to some unknown carvings imprinted on it.
Likewise, the building was so populated that the people were on verge of oozing out. Various chosen with different weapons and armors can be seen on the outside of the building.
There was even a group searching for a party member, shouting and gazing at the passersby.
" Looking for level 200+ chosen to do the quest with us, any grade is acceptable ", exclaimed one of the chosen who's seemingly a mage as he holds a staff
" We're needing a level 100+ healer, only D-grade and above! ", yelled the others
" We're looking for a mage, level 200 or above, to do a quest with us. "
...
..
Various shouts and exclamations were heard outside the building. There were even some approaching the chosen to ask questions and invite them.
Soon, as Adam was walking towards the entrance of the building, he was interrupted as a bald man approached him and spoke.
" Do you mind doing a quest with us? It's an E-grade quest and based on your attire, you're a mage, right? We literally need a damage dealer, so maybe you can form a party with us? ", said the bald man casually while glancing at the robe which Adam wore.
The latter just looked at the bald man and his party members, and found nothing exemplary about them, hence,
" I'm planning to do a solo quest, so I'll have to decline ", said Adam while looking straight at the man's eyes calmly.
After a while, the bald man just nodded in response and began to walk away. Since being declined was not new to them, they didn't get provoked nor feel shame at all.
Soon, Adam continued walking towards the building's entrance, along the way, chosen looking for party members kept on bugging him which he declined adequately.
Since Adam was only level 119 at the moment, he can't act bitterly in front of these level 200+ chosen.
Though his stats were undoubtedly high when compared to his peers/ same level chosen, he couldn't be certain if that was the case yet with those level 200+ who underwent a 2nd major breakthrough.
Hence, he needed to act properly and nicely, besides, he can't bear being bothered nor involved in some unnecessary fight, so he thought it's better to avoid it.
Soon, after reaching the entrance of the building, Adam was now standing on a circular platform, which was large enough for two people to stand on at the same time.
It also looked mediocre and seemed like a normal platform, with only a small circle etched on it
The circular thing he was standing on, was a teleportation device and was the only way to enter the building.
This teleportation device was exclusive to the Chosen's Association building, and it could detect the chosen's level thus transporting them to a suitably numbered floor.
As mentioned, the building had a total of 10 floors, and each floor signified a major level. In other words, floor 1 was for level 100-199 chosen, floor 2 was for 200-299 chosen, and so on...
Likewise, floors 1-2 only contained E-rank quests, floors 3-4 only contained D-rank quests, and so on.
Meaning, a level 100 chosen can only accept an E-grade quest as that was the only available quest grade on floor 1.
Others believed that it was mainly to avoid chosen from taking advantage of the quest's reward. Since once a chosen completed a quest, a reward would be given which varied depending on its difficulty. The higher the quest grade is, the higher the reward is as well.
Soon, as Adam stepped onto the transportation device, a light started to envelop his body completely, while at the same time, a message rang...(from the device and not on the system)
[ Assessing the Chosen's level ]
[ Level 119 found... ]
[ You will now be transported to the first floor ]
After the message rang, Adam instantly felt dizzy as his body was completely transported to the 1st floor.
Soon, after regaining his stance, he opened his eyes only to see a now widely populated 1st floor.
Adam was enthralled at the number of chosen on the first floor as there were so many. And upon giving it some thought, it's likely because many chosen are aiming for a higher attribute before entering 2nd breakthrough, hence delaying their leveling up.
After a while, Adam took a step towards the quest board where quests were displayed.
There were over 10 quest boards on the 1st floor, which were all crowded with chosen looking for a quest.
Hence, Adam walked towards the area with the least number of chosen.
As he walked, he was intrigued by the gossip from a chosen that he overheard. Hence, he took a step closer to the speaker to take a better grasp of the gossip...
" I'm telling the truth! I saw a giant there! ", exclaimed the young girl that was seemingly 15-20 years old, while making some hand gestures with a fully open mouth.
" it cant be, ... that's a Dark Wolves hunting ground so giants can't possibly exist there. ", uttered the other boy lazily while looking at nowhere in particular, as if he wasn't believing the girl's story at all and just felt bothered
" I'm telling you, it's a giant, I saw it! ", said the young girl again, almost yelling as she watched the boy's uncaring expression.
" then what did you see there? Could you describe it? ", utters the boy lazily while inspecting his fingernail carelessly without even glancing at the young girl
The girl took a step closer to the boy and tilted his head to face her and began to speak closely...
"It's a spear! A gigantic one! ", exclaimed the young girl with eyes flickering from excitement
Adam, on the other hand, was shocked by what he heard, as a thought decisively formed in his mind.
" Could it be... Me? "
