Part 2
While Yuuya was fighting the gods.
At the Ousei Academy…
“I’m so bored…”
Ryo mumbled something like that, looking bored.
Shingo looked at him strangely.
“I-is that so?”“That’s right! It’s like it’s not enough, or something like that…”
“Could it be that you are looking for me, the ‘Prince of the Academy’?”
Akira appeared out of nowhere.
“No, you’re especially…”
“That’s terrible!”
“T-That’s right. You’re the same as always, Akira…”
“Even you, Shingo-kun?”
Akira crumpled to the ground as he received similar reactions from both Ryo and Shingo.
As the three of them continued to exchange such pointless comments, Rin and Kaede came over.
“What’s wrong with you three?”
“Hmm? Oh no, I just thought it’s been kind of boring lately.”
“Really? Well, now that you mention it…”
Kaede’s face showed a moment of surprise, then she looked convinced.
Then Rin grinned.
“That’s probably because Yuuya isn’t here, isn’t it?”
“Eh?!”
“Yeah, that’s probably it.”
Kaede’s face turned red at Rin’s words, but Ryo nodded as if to say that was it.
“Just like Rin said, it doesn’t feel right without Yuuya!”
“Speaking of which, Yuuya-kun will be back soon, right?”
“Huh… I wonder how much he’s grown up overseas… As a rival, I’m really looking forward to it!”
“Well, you haven’t grown up at all.”
“Guhahh!”
Akira collapsed, clutching his chest in response to Rin’s retort.
“By the way, I wonder if Yuuya is feeling down over there?”
“I think Yuuya will be okay, right?”
“Yeah, I don’t think we have to worry about him either.”
“But I wonder if he speaks English?”
Kaede’s eyes brightened at Ryo’s innocent question.
“I wonder? But it seems like he can speak it!”
“That’s true… I wouldn’t be surprised if Yuuya could speak English fluently. I wonder if he’s popular over there, too?”
“Eehh?!”
“Haha, I’m just kidding! Besides, Kaori is accompanying him on the study trip abroad, so it’ll be fine.”
“That’s true! I bet they’re doing lots of things over there and having a great time, right?”
Ryo said with an excited look on his face, and Rin suddenly remembered something and took out her smartphone.
“Oh, that reminds me, a while ago there was a video on social media that was trending overseas… isn’t that Yuuya?”
“Eh?”
Rin and the others looked at the smartphone she held out.
There, they saw a video of Yuuya saving Olivia in a brilliant way.
“H-hey, is that…
“I-isn’t she that world famous actress, Olivia-san…?”
“How did that happen?!”
Akira couldn’t help but point out, and Rin burst out laughing.
“Hahaha! No matter where he goes, it’s still the same Yuuya! Like Ryo said, he’s really active overseas too!”
“No, no, that’s not something to laugh about! What’s going on here?”
“Apparently, Yuuya was on the set of a movie and he saved Olivia who was about to fall off the roof after slipping.”
“What’s with that movie-like development…”
“Yeah, it’s more cinematic than a movie shoot…”
“…So that means this video is not CG, right?”
“Y-yeah, I guess so. But it’s not surprising that Yuuya can do something like that.”
“Yeah, you’re right…”
Everyone looked into the distance and remembered Yuuya’s activities so far.
Then Ryo grinned.
“Well, if there’s no Yuuya who’s so active, then the school will also be lacking!”
“T-That’s true. Well, you know, Yuuya-kun himself doesn’t want to stand out, but…”
“Ah… Well, I guess. He’s a bit reserved…”
“As for me, I’m just jealous!”
“That’s true. If Yuuya and Akira’s personalities were the opposite… no, that would be terrible.”
“What do you mean?!”
As usual, Akira was teased, and everyone laughed. Suddenly, Ryo had an idea.
“Hey, won’t it be just in time for Christmas when Yuuya comes back?”
“Ah, now that you mention it, it is that time of the year.”
“So what’s the problem with that?”
“Since it’s a good opportunity, why don’t we have a Christmas party to celebrate Yuuya and Kaori’s return to Japan?”
The eyes of Kaede and the others lit up at Ryo’s suggestion.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea, let’s do it!”
“Yeah, I have no plans…”
“Y-yeah, I’m okay with that too.”
As Kaede, Rin, and Shingo each expressed their agreement, Akira’s facehad an apologetic expression.
“I’m sorry, but I have a part-time job that day…”
“Oh, really?”
“But don’t worry about me, and have fun!”
Akira said and then suddenly looked at his watch.
“Oops, if I keep talking like this, it’ll be time for my part-time job today! Sorry, but from now on, I’m the ‘part-time job prince’! I’ll go first!”
With that, he quickly got ready to go home and left.
While watching him go, Ryo spoke up.
“Come to think of it, we can’t hang out with him all the time.”
“N-now that you mention it, that’s true.”
“Not only at Christmas, but he works after that too…”
“What’s the matter? Does he have no money?”
“Come to think of it, we don’t really know Akira that well, do we?”
Shingo and the others fell silent at Ryo’s words.
That’s right, there was no one here who really knew much about Akira.
“Well, even if it’s difficult this year, let’s still have a Christmas party with Akira next year.”
“Yeah, that’s right!”
Everyone began to discuss the Christmas party with Yuuya and the others who had returned from abroad.
Epilogue
“Puooon♪”
“E-err…”
After we defeated the Earth Gods.
The Behemoth came running to me as if to say, “I did my best as you asked! Praise me!”
However, if it continued to charge at us like that, we would be trampled to death, so I asked the Behemoth to calm down, and as I expected, it listened to me and became docile.
W-what on earth was happening…?
While I was confused, Saara-san, who had been watching the situation, spoke up.
“No way… Yuuya-san!”
“Y-yes!”
“By any chance… can you use the power of the gods…?”
“Huh? N-no, I can’t use divine power… but I can use a similar power.”
When I answered like that, Saara-san’s eyes lit up.
“That’s it! That’s why the Behemoth is listening to Yuuya-san!”
“W-what do you mean…?”
Saara-san continued to speak to me, who was confused.
“As I said, the Behemoth was created by combining the power of the gods. Therefore, it was created to obey only the commands of those with divine power. And in my time, only the gods had that power.”
“I-I see.”
“But what they didn’t count on was the existence of Yuuya-san, who has the same power as the gods. Of course, originally, the monster would not have listened to Yuuya-san’s words. However, after they lost their power to the people of Moatra, and on top of that, the power of the gods in human form was far inferior to Yuuya-san’s power. Therefore, Behemoth probably recognized Yuuya-san, whose power surpassed that of the gods, as its new master.”
“I-is that so?”
“Puoon!”
“It’s true…”
Behemoth nodded energetically at Saara-san’s words.
I couldn’t hide my surprise at the outcome of the battle, which I didn’t expect at all, but I never thought that divine authority would be used here.
However, it was also true that we were able to defeat the gods thanks to Behemoth.
I placed my hand on Behemoth’s head.
“Thank you.”
“Puoon♪”
Behemoth let out a cry in response to my words.
Then Saara-san looked a bit sentimental.
“It wasn’t what I imagined, but… the battle with the gods is really over, isn’t it…”
“Ah…”
That’s right, Saara-san had lived her life thinking only about taking revenge on the gods.
And the Behemoth in front of her is also an entity that once attacked Saara-san and the others.
As I watched the events unfold, Saara-san stared at the Behemoth.
“To be honest, I want to kill you here.”
“Puo…”
Perhaps because it understood what Saara-san was saying and thinking, the Behemoth let out a sad, somewhat resigned voice.
However…
“But you are also a victim of the gods. You were unintentionally created and used as the gods saw fit. You destroyed the gods in my place, and I am satisfied.”
“Puoo…”
“Are you sure about that?”
I couldn’t help but ask, and Saara-san nodded.
“Yes. I was able to see the most important thing for the gods: to be born into a human body, which they had mocked so much, and then to be killed by the hands of a divine beast, which was created by the power of the gods, who had become weak.”
If you put it like that… even though they used human bodies to hide themselves, the gods who used human bodies probably had a limit to the divine power they could handle. And because their divine power was inferior to my divine authority, they ended up being killed by their own creation.
If you look at it that way, you could say it was a pretty pathetic end.
When I nodded in agreement with Saara-san’s words, she continued.
“So, what are you going to do with this Behemoth?”
“Ah, well, that’s right…”
Even if Saara-san forgives the Behemoth, we can’t just leave it there.
After all, the city is probably in a panic right now with the news that a group of divine soldiers have appeared. Just thinking about it makes my head hurt…
For the time being, it is possible to return home using teleportation magic, so there is no need to worry about anyone seeing us.
However, that was not the case for Behemoth.
“What do you want to do anyway?”
“Puoo? Puoon♪”
“Oh…”
In response to my question, Behemoth rubbed against me as if to say, “I’ll follow you!”
Hmm… Oh, that’s right!
When I remember something, I take something from my Item Box.
That is…
“If you’re coming with me, eat this.”
“Puoon?”
What I offered him was a Large and Small Change Pill.
Thanks to it, Ouma-san’s huge body, though not as huge as Behemoth’s, became smaller, and Akatsuki was able to enlarge his body.
Behemoth swallowed such a pill.
Then Behemoth’s body began to glow, and when the light finally faded… in front of our eyes was Behemoth, who had become as small as Night and the others.
“Puoo? Puoon!”
At first, Behemoth was surprised by his own change, but soon he was jumping around happily.
Maybe it was born that big. Come to think of it, a small body might be free and fun in a way.
“By the way, is Behemoth the name of this child?”
“Well… I thought of it as a kind of race name…”
“I see… Hey, do you want a name?”
“Puoon!”
Behemoth nodded at my question.
I thought that if Behemoth was going to follow me from now on, he would need a name.
“Well then… how about Don?”
It might be a bit lazy thinking, but when that thing was summoned, it looked like the gray sky was falling.
So I took the name from the gray sky, or rather the cloudy sky.
“Puoon!”
The Behemoth, now called Don, shouted happily at the name I had given it.
“Alright, I look forward to living with you from now on, Don!”
“Puoon!”
──Thus, I welcomed a new member of my family and ended my war with the gods.
***
“I’m home~!”
After welcoming Don into the family, I used teleportation magic to send Don and Saara-san to my house in Japan.
And I myself came back from overseas by plane with Kaori.
By the way, even though the group of divine soldiers was seen by many people, if only for a moment… Although the situation developed into something that was picked up by the news, they were nowhere to be seen after that, so it seems that it was impossible to investigate, and if things continue like this, they will eventually be forgotten.
However, Kaori, who had seen the news, seemed to understand that I was involved in the incident.
Afterward, I explained to Kaori that I had resolved the situation without incident…
“I completely understand how amazing Yuuya-san is. But… please take care of your health, okay?”
Kaori was worried about me.
As for me, I just want to avoid getting involved in any more strange incidents and live a peaceful life…
Anyway, I was relieved to find out that everything was fine when I got home.
When I arrived home after saying goodbye to Kaori at the airport, Lexia-san and the others were there to greet me.
“Welcome home, Master!”
“You’re finally back, Yuuya-sama!”
“Yuuya, I heard everything from Saara. It seems that you were very busy over there as well.”
“Bad. You always seem so busy. Are you okay?”
“A-ahaha… I hope everything is okay. How were things with everyone?”
I ask, and Lexia-san replies.
“It was so boring!”
“Eehh?!”
“Yuuya, don’t worry about it. This one lived a normal, fun life.”
“Hey, Luna!?”
“Don’t worry. Thanks to Meiko, we didn’t have any problems.”
“I’m glad I could help!”
It seems that she took good care of everyone while I was gone.
I’m sorry I left so much to her, but Meiko says she enjoys taking care of everyone.
I’m really grateful.
“But what about Saara-san and Don?”
I ask, smiling wryly at Yuti’s words, and Luna answers with a wry look on her face.
“They are fine. They just looked tired, so they’re sleeping now. But still, a new family member is a divine beast… what’s going on in this house?”
“Even if you put it that way…”
Well, I’ve been involved in all sorts of things, but thanks to that, I’ve also met Night, Lexia-san, and the others. Not everything is bad.
If I don’t think like that, I can’t go on.
While we were having this conversation, Saara and Don came from the back.
“Ah, Yuuya-san!”
“Saara-san! Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’ve recovered physically, though my strength is still lacking.”
“Puoo.”
“I see… Oh, by the way, since we’re here, I’ll introduce Don to everyone again.”
As I said this, Don took a step forward.
“This is Don, our new family member. I think Saara-san gave you a brief explanation, but he was originally a divine beast created by the gods of Earth… but for various reasons, we ended up living together.”
“Puoon♪”
After my introduction, Don made a friendly sound as if to say, “Nice to meet you!”
Night and the others then quickly approached Don.
“Woof.”
“Fugo?”
“Pipii!”
“Nyaa.”
Night and the others greeted Don as if they were the older siblings.
On the other hand, Akatsuki didn’t seem to understand what was going on, so he tilted his head to the side while Ciel jumped around Don with a curious look on his face.
Stella had already opened up to Don and was rubbing against him and relaxing.
As I watched the scene, Ouma-san opened his mouth with a dazed expression.
“Good grief… it looks like it’s going to get even louder than before…”
“S-sorry…”
“Hmph, there’s no need to apologize. From the Master’s point of view, who tends to get involved in all sorts of things, he’s a reassuring ally, isn’t he?”
Ugh… Ouma-san is right; I do get involved in all kinds of trouble, but it’s not like I like it…
Anyway, after Don’s introduction was over, I asked Saara-san.
“Speaking of which, what are you going to do after this, Saara?”
“Eh?”
“Yes! You’ve completed your revenge on the gods, right?”
“Ah… yes…”
Saara-san was surprised by Lexia-san’s question.
“I never thought that my revenge would actually end, so I hadn’t thought about what to do after that.”
“Is there something you want to do? If so, I’ll do my best to help you.”
It would be difficult for Saara-san, who lived in the past, to suddenly live in this era.
That’s why I thought I would help her as much as I could.
Then Saara-san seemed to be troubled for a while but finally nodded.
“I’ve made up my mind.”
Then, with a determined expression on her face, she declared loudly.
“I will live here!”
“E-eehh?”
No, that’s fine with me, but…
“There’s also an extra room, so it’s fine with me, but why all of a sudden?”
“It’s to repay you.”
“Repay me?”
While I was surprised by the unexpected words, Saara-san nodded.
“Yes. Thanks to you, I was able to take revenge on the gods. That’s why I want to repay you by supporting you!”
“No, you don’t have to go that far…”
“No, you can count on me!”
No matter what I said, Saara-san seemed determined.
Well, I couldn’t just leave Saara-san, who had nowhere to go, so it was fine for her to live with me and get used to this time period… but I hadn’t asked her to pay me back.
Hmm… if we live together for a while, maybe she’ll find something she wants to do…
While I was thinking about this, Lexia-san suddenly remembered something.
“Oh, that reminds me! There was a visitor while you were gone, Yuuya-sama!”
“Eh, a visitor?”
Who could it be? If it was a friend from school, they would know that I was studying abroad…
“Yes, it was someone who looked very much like you, Yuuya-sama…”
“M-me?”
Normally, when someone says they look like me, the first thing that comes to mind is my family.
However, starting with my father, I don’t look like any of my family.
Then… could it be that another me has come from a parallel world?
As question marks appeared in my mind, the intercom of my house rang.
“Ah, I’ll get it.”
I told everyone and walked to the front door.
Then…
“I-I found you…!”
“Eh?”
A young man wearing some kind of futuristic-looking clothes stood there looking at me, looking very impressed.
And as soon as he spotted me, the young man began to operate a rather unusual-looking bracelet with great energy.
“Excuse me!”
“Huh? No, what are you doing?”
Then he suddenly grabbed my arm.
“I want you to come… to the future with me!”
While I was confused and didn’t know what was going on──my vision suddenly went dark.
