I Dragged My Fiance's Uncle off the Altar

Chapter 9

Come at Me

Xing Shu’s eyes turned red as she picked up her bag and looked at Wu Minxia. “Back then, you were extremely reluctant to part with Xing Linlin when she moved out. She was the apple of your eye while I am chopped liver. Since that’s the case, she might as well have everything. Not only can she have my parents, she can also have my man. I wish you all the best!”

“Xing Shu!” Wu Minxia shouted. She could not believe that the usually subservient Xing Shu would speak to her like this.

As Xing Shu walked to the door, she heard Xing Linlin’s cries and apologies mingled with Wu Minxia’s gentle, comforting voice. Wu Minxia did not believe Xing Shu’s words at all—she refused to believe that Xing Linlin would do such a thing.

“Linlin, don’t cry. I don’t know what’s wrong with Xing Shu. She actually fabricated such vicious lies to slander you…” Wu Minxia hugged Xing Linlin achingly.

Hearing Wu Minxia’s words, ridicule flashed across Xing Shu’s eyes. The fingers that were clutching her bag turned white as she slammed the door shut!

After getting into the car, Xing Shu licked her dry lips and tasted blood. She floored the accelerator and the car sped off.

A Porsche—Cheng Xingyang’s car—was waiting at her apartment building. Cheng Xingyang leaned against the front of the car, smoking. At the sight of Xing Shu, he barked at her. “Linlin is missing. Xing Shu, did you make things difficult for Linlin again? I told you before that I forced her to be with me. She has always cared about you and treats you as her sister from the bottom of her heart. If you have any resentment, come at me…” Before he could finish speaking, Xing Shu struck his face with her palm.

Cheng Xingyang’s head was tilted to the side by the slap—Xing Shu had expended all her strength. Cheng Xingyang was stunned by the slap and could not react for a long time. He touched the corner of his mouth and said in disbelief, “You actually hit me?”

Xing Shu said, “Didn’t you say to direct any resentment at you?”

Cheng Xingyang’s lips trembled. “You f*cking…” He could not even finish his sentence—Xing Shu’s slap had made his mind go blank. He never expected that Xing Shu would dare to hit him!

“Thank you. I’m in a better mood now.” Xing Shu sidestepped Cheng Xingyang and entered her apartment.

“Xing Shu!” Cheng Xingyang kicked the trash can beside him in helpless fury.

Xing Shu could not care less about Cheng Xingyang’s outburst. Upon entering the apartment, she leaned against the door to calm herself down. Then, she turned on her computer and started working overtime. Chen Ru had arranged for her to work by Cheng Xingyang’s side, immediately after her graduation. She had thought then that Chen Ru was nurturing her as a family. But in hindsight now, she saw though Chen Ru’s ruse.

The Old Master of the Cheng family had arranged for the Cheng family’s younger generation to work in Cheng Corporation Group from a young age to put them to the test. With the help of Xing Shu—a top finance graduate from Beijing University—Cheng Xingyang rose to the top, netting all the credit and money.

But what was she working so hard for?

Cheng Xingyang wanted to break off the engagement with her, and the Cheng family did not utter a word at all. So, what on earth did she waste all these years for? What did she get in return?

As for the parasitic Chen Ru and Cheng Xingyang, they leeched off the abilities of other people to gain money and power! Xing Shu’s fingers were trembling with anger as she found Cheng Lang’s contact email on the company’s intranet and sent the whistleblowing report—containing evidence of Cheng Xingyang’s embezzlement and dereliction of duty—anonymously by email.

After sending the email, Xing Shu lay on the table and waited for a long time, but there was no reply. When she woke up again, it was six in the morning. She rubbed her sore eyes and saw a new email notification. She quickly opened it, only to see a cold, hard word: Rejected.

On the way to the office, Xing Shu bit her cheek—her face hurt; and she was not feeling well from sleeping on the table last night.

When Hu Jie saw Xing Shu in the office, she hurriedly handed over a pile of documents. “Xing Shu, the Director sent your purchase agreement back yesterday. Lirong Corporation has been pestering us for the agreement and said that if we don’t submit it by nine o’clock tomorrow, it will be considered as giving up the bid.”

Hu Jie’s tone was a little resentful. Previously, Cheng Xingyang had never bothered about these things, so the purchase agreement could be reviewed and approved by Xing Shu. However, the vindictive Cheng Xingyang bore a grudge against Xing Shu for the slap last night and deliberately rejected Xing Shu’s purchase agreement.
