I Dragged My Fiance's Uncle off the Altar

Chapter 44 - 44 What Does Director Xing Think?

44 What Does Director Xing Think?

“Cousin.” Wearing a spaghetti strap dress, Jiang Yao slung her backpack behind her and greeted Cheng Xingyang warmly. “Cousin, I heard that you were removed from your position by Young Uncle? And Xing Shu was promoted to Director?”

Jiang Yao’s mother was the fourth daughter of the Cheng family—Cheng Shi. Jiang Yao was very spoiled and a spendthrift. With her revolving door of boyfriends, she was the most improper young lady in the Beijing upper-class social circle, and gained even wider notoriety when she reached adulthood.

Cheng Xingyang saw the rose tattoos on Jiang Yao’s arms and his face darkened. “Who did you hear that from?”

Jiang Yao blinked. “I just came from the Family Manor. Second Uncle is still being ripped to shreds by Grandpa. He even broke a few of his precious Ming dynasty bowls.”

Cheng Xingyang did not want to waste his breath on Jiang Yao anymore; he was anxious to confront Xing Shu. Nonchalant about money, Jiang Yao simply called someone to take care of the car. She then invited Cheng Xingyang. “Cousin, I’m going up to look for Young Uncle too. Shall we go together?”

Cheng Xingyang regarded her with contempt. How could Jiang Yao be so shameless as to look for Young Uncle in this outfit?

The two of them entered the elevator together. As Cheng Xingyang got his senses back, he rationalized that the senior management was having a meeting at this time—if he went over now, Young Uncle would definitely not let him off. While he was deep in thought, the elevator had stopped at the top floor. Jiang Yao walked in first and ran towards the conference room with familiarity.

In the conference room, the faces of the directors got increasingly thunderous. The memo issued by Cheng Corporation Group yesterday had established the management and personnel protocol of all the various departments henceforth—a direct challenge to their authority. Unfortunately, all their resentment was suppressed by Cheng Lang.

Cheng Lang looked across the room before landing his gaze on Xing Shu. Then, he slowly retracted his gaze. “Is there anything else you wish to add?”

Xing Shu was the most relaxed in the entire conference room. She leaned back in her chair and met Cheng Lang’s gaze as she looked up. The sunlight outside the window shone on the buttons of his shirt, making him ethereal.

Cheng Lang asked, “What does Director Xing think?”

Xing Shu was stunned for a moment at being singled out. She stared at Cheng Lang and did not respond for a long time. Cheng Lang’s long eyelashes had an innate sense of celibacy. His slender fingers tapped on the marble table. For some reason, Xing Shu suddenly thought of those hands casually removing his belt.

“Ahem…” Xing Shu coughed twice and pulled back from her reverie. She slowly opened the file. “President Cheng, after perusing that memo these few days, I found the performance and value system, and the ABC principle to be perfect. However, after studying the internal selection protocols of several companies abroad, I feel that there is room for two more points. One is the 8120 protocol, and the other is the 2N protocol.”

Everyone in the conference room thought that Xing Shu had lost her mind and did not hide the contempt on their faces. They were glad that Xing Shu had diverted Cheng Lang’s anger away from them.

Xing Shu had always been serious and calm at work. After expressing her opinion, she closed the file and waited for Cheng Lang to speak.

Cheng Lang smiled and tapped on the table with his slender fingers. “Tell me in detail.”

Xing Shu stood up. “I summarized the 8120 protocol based on the management system of a few major companies. Everyone, please turn your attention to the big screen.”

Everyone’s gaze involuntarily turned to the big screen showing a very detailed summary of data. But, so what?

Xing Shu said, “I projected several simulations and found that the ideal number of managers is eight to 12. This will give him adequate time for strategization without being too idle. As for this 20, it’s targeted at the lowest level managers in the company. These managers can’t have fewer than 20 people under them because entry-level work is relatively simple. There are even 50 to 80 people in other companies. This prevents the lower level managers from being idle.”

Xing Shu moved on to the next slide. “As for the 2N protocol, it’s to prevent cliques in the company. I’ve asked the HR Department for data on the employees who have been hired by Cheng Corporation Group in the past few years. Many staff who joined Cheng Corporation Group have rich work experience. The 2N protocol only allows each person to bring along a maximum of one person with them. They are welcome to bring along more but the extra personnel have to be staffed at another department.”

At this point, someone frowned. “Xing Shu, what do you mean by this protocol? Are you deliberately instigating divisiveness in the company?”

Xing Shu calmly moved to the next slide. “This is the data on the transfer of personnel from the HR Department. If a manager joins a department, this manager will bring over many staff from his/her original department. Once he/she leaves, these staff will follow, resulting in a huge loss to the company. The 2N protocol can completely eliminate such problems.”
