Chapter 27 Are These Bunnies!?
Later that night while everyone was sleeping, Outside Freedom town four faint figures could vaguely be seen.
At this time George, Davis, Elric, and Alvin had already prepared their things ready to begin their journey.
"Young master, we're all set!" suddenly, a loud voice could be heard creating an echo in their surroundings
"Shhh Davis, don't you remember what Elric said, we have to keep quiet!"
"Remember, we don't want anyone to notice when we're leaving."
hearing the loud noise, George couldn't help but reprimand Davis.
"*Ahem!* I believe it's too late for that"
Just when Davis was about to say something in response, a voice came from behind startling the four of them.
turning their backs, the fir of them went into a fighting pose wary of their uninvited guest
*Calm down, it's me"
stepping out of the shadows, was no other Sebastian, wearing his signature black suit, he seemed to blend into the darkness.
"It me Sebastian"
not waiting for their response, Sebastian began to explain why was there
"Ever since Kevin came from your last hunting trip, lord Reinhardt thought you might leave again" saying that, Sebastian pointed toward their luggage.
As soon as he said this, the face of Elric as well as George and the rest quickly turned ugly
"So you were stalking us!?" Said Elric as he couldn't help but get angry, after all, no one likes being watched behind their backs.
Thankfully, Sebastian seemed to have expected his reaction, and quickly explained to him calming him down
"Actually, I haven't been stalking you, but I've been here since, lord Reinhardt wanted me to give you this as it'd be helpful in your future travels "
"it's just that everything I wanted to see you, I was told the four of you were busy and I had no choice but to wait for you here hoping to meet when next you want to go out"
said Sebastian as he pointed toward the carriage
hearing him say this and thinking of how they'd been locked up in the library lately, Elric and the rest couldn't help but look embarrassed, obviously, he meant good but they got angry at him for no reason
After thanking Sebastian, they took one last look at the town in which they had stayed, and without saying goodbye to any of their fellow tribesmen still in the house, they got into the carriage and headed off towards their journey.
....
leaving the town, with George at the helm of the carriage, they began to perceive their surroundings.
Unfortunately, due to the fact it was night, what came into sight was not the colourful and wonderful Elias they had experienced during the day, and an eerie feeling seemed to permeate their surroundings.
with strange howls and coos being heard from time to time, even the braves George among the three was at the tip of his toes much less Alvin who was shivering in a corner of the carriage
"Elric, do you think we're going to achieve anything from all this"
"After all, if we just stayed at home, I'm sure it would be less dangerous than now, or maybe we could leave tomorrow morning," said Davis as he was obviously scared by the surrounding atmosphere.
Listening to Davis speak, Elric was shocked after all this was one of the few times he'd been called by his first name rather than 'young master'
Obviously, he still had doubts about leaving so impromptu and the eeriness of the night didn't seem to make things better.
Even Alvin and George on the side, turned to look at Elric hoping to be able to turn back.
Seeing the three of them in such a state, Elric suddenly remembered his drunken state from earlier and decided to try and lift their spirits one more time.
clearing his throat, he turned to face Davis and the rest
"No Davis, I don't know
"I don't know if we're going to get attacked later during the trip"
"I don't know if we'll achieve anything from this"
listening to Elric say this, the whole carriage seemed to have stopped, their mood had hit rock bottom.
unfortunately, Elric didn't seem to notice this but rather continued to speak
"However there's one thing I do know!"
"look in front of you! what do you see?" said Elric as he pointed toward the front of the carriage.
stretching his head to take a closer look, after making sure there was nothing else Davis could help but reply with a somewhat listless tone
"Road, all I see is Road"
unexpectedly after hearing his answer, Elric nodded in affirmation
"Road! Yes, Road!"
"This is a road which magic beasts, humans, carriages and so many pass every day!"
"This is a road which countless lives have walked through"
Taking a deep breath, Elric's momentum seemed to surge
"However, the beasts we're going to hunt"
"The magic we're going to study"
"The wizards were going to be"
"This Is a road no one's walked before!"
Listening to Elric talk, the three of them suddenly felt like they drank an Energy drink, no longer the fearful listless performance from before, but rather they seemed to see a future of them becoming ancestors who created magic together with their young master.
sensing their change of mood Elric had a slight some at the corner of his mouth
"And so, Davis, George, and Alvin, are you willing to walk with me down this untrodden road?"
Said Elric as he faced the three of them
"Yes young master! we're willing to go with you!"(x3)
As the three of them said this, they seemed to be calmer all of a sudden. So what if they got attacked in the night, so what if they fell on the road as long as they were helping Elric, that's all that mattered.
Thinking of this the three of them seemed more focused on the ongoing journey, and Elric who had achieved his desired effect was suddenly glad he watched all those cringe motivational speeches back on the blue star.
And so the journey continued, fortunately, nothing dangerous happened to make their earlier worries for naught.
*Yawn..*
at the helm of the carriage, George couldn't help but yawn as he had been driving for hours now without rest. Thankfully, the carriage was enough for them to take turns sleeping while another person kept watch.
After a brief discussion, Davis decided to take up the help while George took his rest.
Soon, after a few switches at the helm, the three suns of Elias had already symbolised the start of a new day, and the carriage had already reached its destination.
"Elric! Alvin! Gorge! we're here come out, you might want to see this"
Suddenly, just as Elric was out to wake up, an anxious shout from Davis was heard, coincidentally waking up Alvin and George in the process.
hearing his tone the three of them quickly started to disembark from the carriage.
coming out of the carriage, Elric's, Alvin's, and George's mouths couldn't help but be left agape due to the sight in front of them.
A huge valley spanning an unknown distance with countless thunderclouds hovering above the air, in front of them were huge bunnies some as tall as five metres with huge wings protruding from their back and fangs on each side of their mouth.
Seeing the sight in front of him, Davis as the first to disembark only had one question on his mind.
"Um... Young master, are you sure these are bunnies!?"
