Chapter 86 - The Fate Of Green Willow Village

When the night fell, Qin Yi returned to Green Willow Village, but this time, he used Void Jump instead of using Wind Eagle from the Air Eagle Company.

Although the Qi consumption using Void Jump from the sect to Green Willow Village was enormous, he could still afford it. In addition, even if he ran out of Qi, he could refill it quickly using the [Qi] from the PowerBox.

Enveloping himself with the Hidden Night Cloak, Qin Yi remains as an invisible person to the villagers. He also didn't forget to suppress his cultivation base and breath to the lowest point using the Turtle Breathing Technique.

Mu Fengsha's residence is not far from the Village Chief's house. After a few minutes, Qin Yi finally arrived at a small house that was lit only by two torches stuck in the ground of the front yard of the house.

However, instead of going into the house, he hid in one of the trees in the yard.

He was in no hurry to sneak in there, as he intended to observe him for a while and ensure that no one was around.

However, something unexpected happened while Qin Yi was hiding in the tree.

He saw two people in red robes with strange crests behind them secretly entering Mu Fengsha's house.

Qin Yi couldn't help but frown upon seeing this scene.

He immediately came down from the tree and cautiously followed them, but he did not enter the house. He turned around and found a window made of wood. Then he sneakily approached it and hid beside it so as not to be seen from inside.

Before long, he started to hear the conversation between Mu Fengsha and these two mysterious people.

"...Why are you here tonight? Aren't you aware that there are still guests in my village? That person has been investigating this mountain for two months, if he finds suspicious people like you, he will not hesitate to catch you. Besides, he's so much stronger than the rest of us, he will be able to catch you guys effortlessly."

From Mu Fengsha's tone, he sounded very dissatisfied with the actions of the two in red robes.

"Don't worry, before we decided to come here, we already confirmed that person's whereabouts. Some of our people saw him going to the next village this afternoon, so he couldn't possibly discover our movements." One of the red-robed person spoke with a haughty tone.

"Also, we came here only to warn you that the ritual will be held tomorrow night. You must bring the children before the ritual begins!"

"What?" Mu Fengsha was shocked as he said in a panic, "What's wrong? Did something happen? Shouldn't it be in two days?"

"We don't know, we're just following His Excellency the Red Blood King's orders."

"His Excellency... the Red Blood King?"

"That's right, this time, His Excellency the Red Blood King will lead the ritual tomorrow night."

"Why would one of the five Kings suddenly take an interest in a small ritual like this?" Mu Fengsha was shocked and frightened at the same time.

Five Blood Kings included the Red Blood King, Blue Blood King, Green Blood King, White Blood King, and Black Blood King. The five of them are the upper echelons of the Crimson Blood Sect. It is estimated that each of them has the strength of the Core Formation Realm.

Usually, the person leading the ritual is a Blood Envoy, and they only have the Early Stage of Foundation Establishment Realm cultivation base.

In the first place, this ritual is meant for those low-level sect disciples, whereas Blood Kings usually never lower themselves to low-level Blood Rituals like this.

Therefore, Mu Fengsha was shocked by this red-robed man's warning.

Meanwhile, the man in the red robe replied in a cold tone: "You don't need to concern yourself regarding this matter, just follow his orders! That's all I have say, and you, let's go!"

He told his companion to leave as he started heading towards the door. However, the other one remained silent and then said.

"I will talk to Mu Fengsha for a while, you can go first!"

The red-robed man snorted and said before he left the house, "Suit yourself, Don't take too long!"

After watching his companion leave, the other red-robed man removed his hood.

Seeing this, Mu Fengsha didn't look surprised but instead asked anxiously.

"Brother Yan, what's the matter with this? To my knowledge, there was no such precedence that one of the Blood Kings presided over the Blood Ritual on this mountain! Did something major happen to make His Excellency make a move himself?"

"..." Mu Yan remained silent before he was finally willing to open his mouth.

"Fengsha, we cannot protect this village any longer..."

"Eh?"

Mu Fengsha was stunned for a moment, and then his face revealed an unbelievable expression.

Mu Yan's words were like a thunderbolt to his ears.

In the next moment, he hastily reached both hands to Mu Yan and grasped his shoulders while trembling.

"What does that mean, Brother Yan? I mean, our village has always obeyed the sect, and we also sacrifice a lot of children every year. There's no way the sect will treat our village badly, right?"

"Look, in this ritual we are also preparing the three best children in the village. You yourself are even willing to let your daughter be included in this Blood Ritual. Our village always follows the orders of the sect and never betray them. We do all this in order to maintain the continuity of the village."

"And you, Brother Yan, said something blue like that. You must be joking, right, Brother Yan, BROTHER YAN?!!?"

After that, with tears threatening to overflow from his eyes, Mu Fengsha grasped onto Mu Yan's shoulders using all he could muster as his eyes seemed to be asking for an explanation.

However, Mu Yan's eyes were still as cold as ever without the slightest bit of wavering like it was a minor matter to him.

Seeing this reaction, Mu Fengsha couldn't take it any longer as all his strength instantly left his body, causing him to kneel on the floor and smile bitterly.

"Brother Yan, you don't sound like you're joking, but I can tell you don't seem bothered by it. Does our village mean so little to you?"

Mu Yang sighed and said, "Fengsha, we, cultivators are deemed to have a long life as we continuously increase our cultivation base. However, to do that we need to cultivate diligently, and it is impossible for us to look after this mortal village forever. Besides, when I say our village is finished, in fact, it's not only this village that might end, but this applies to all living things on this mountain."

Mu Fengsha froze for a second, then he clenched his fist tightly, and he looked up at Mu Yan as if asking, 'how did this happen?'.

"It's because of that outsider?"

"Just because of that one person, all living things in this mountain will be killed?!"

Mu Yan sighed, "It's not as simple as you think."

"If it's only because of that guy, we just need to kill him. I've found him a nuisance because he keeps asking the villager about this ritual. If we kill him, all problems will be solved, right? I'm weak, but there are many capable disciple in the sect who can kill him!"

Meanwhile, Qin Yi, who was quietly listening to their conversation, couldn't help but frown and be bewildered.

Several questions started popping up in his head.

What are they actually talking about?

Who is the Red Blood King?

This entire mountain will face extinction?

And who is the "Outsider" that they mentioned just now? Wu Kun?

Just when more questions were going to pop in his head, Mu Yan begun speaking again.

"It's useless. Even if we kill that person, the force behind him will still send another person to replace the previous one. Moreover, I heard from my superiors that that person has a very large background that could even place our sect into a conservative state."

"Therefore, the moment they took an interest in this mountain, our sect must immediately erase our traces. And the quickest way to do that is to make all the living creatures on this mountain disappear by turning them into blood sacrifices. I think this is also the reason why the Red Blood King personally stepped up into this matter."

"Does that mean they are stronger than the Crimson Blood Sect?"

"It seems so..."

Mu Fengsha was silent for a moment before he said obscurely.

"If indeed they are stronger than our sect, why don't we ask them fo-"

"MU FENGSHA!"

Before he could finish his sentence, Mu Yan interrupted him. He looked at Mu Fengsha and said coldly, "There's nothing good if we betray the Crimson Blood Sect! Even if Green Willow Village is extinct, with you and I alive, the village can be rebuilt again someday. But if we betray the sect, we will die alongside the whole village. Then the Green Willow village will be completely extinct."

Mu Fengsha could only lower her head without saying anything.

"Since you have nothing left to say, I'm leaving now!"
