Chapter 7
C7 – Special Mission(2)
Pill Masters, also known as Pill Refining Masters, play a crucial role in the cultivation world. Cultivators absorb Heaven Earth Spiritual Energy into their bodies, storing it in their dantian. However, since this energy is too dispersed in the sky, most cultivators opt to use Spirit Stones to aid their practice.
Spirit Stones, while useful, contain a limited and stable amount of Spiritual Qi. They’re adequate for regular cultivation, but to rapidly enhance one’s cultivation level, external aids are necessary. Pills, crafted by Pill Masters, are one of these vital external forces.
The ability to break through to the next realm, particularly the Great Stage, is influenced by one’s talent, potential, and cannot be achieved by Spirit Stones alone. Special Pills are required for such breakthroughs, underscoring the invaluable role of Pill Masters. These masters expertly use a variety of medicinal herbs and special techniques to create Pills, making them the utmost experts in their field. Notably, the Pill Master from the Wei family has three direct disciples.
Wei Lulin, though brimming with curiosity, wisely keeps his questions to himself, not letting any trace of them show.
The size of the Endless Forest remains a mystery to all, with no one in Yao Country or the neighboring kingdoms having any knowledge of its true expanse. Yet, the forest’s perils are well-known. Beyond natural traps, it is home to numerous formidable Magical Beasts.
Magical Beasts, like humans, have the ability to cultivate. They are classified into three orders, Grade Ten, and thirty levels. Grade Ten corresponds to the Qi Refining Stage, and Grade Nine to the Body Refining Stage. The divisions beyond the Body Refining Stage are unclear to Wei Lulin, primarily because the strongest in the Wei family is the patriarch, Wei Bochen, who has reached the Body Refining Stage Peak. Whether the Wei family possesses any stronger experts is beyond Lulin’s knowledge and status.
Typically, warriors from Yao Country venture only as far as where Grade Ten and Grade Nine Magical Beasts dwell, seeking medicinal herbs or hunting these creatures. Venturing deeper often means no return.
Magical Beasts cultivate by absorbing Heaven Earth Spiritual Energy, and their flesh is rich in Spiritual Force. A martial artist who consumes the flesh and blood of a Magical Beast over time can not only enhance their physique but also significantly boost their cultivation.
In Yao Country, beyond the three great clans, there was a family renowned for trading magical beasts. This family amassed vast wealth by capturing magical beasts from the Endless Forest.
For Wei Lulin, the Endless Forest had always been a place of imagination. As a mortal unable to cultivate, he knew that not only ranked magical beasts but even ordinary fierce ones could easily claim his life. Consequently, he had never ventured into the Endless Forest during his year in Lindorin Town.
Wei Lulin’s first impression of the Endless Forest was its sheer vastness. At a glance, the forest seemed infinite, its lush green foliage stretching out like an endless sea.
“Three-year-old Golden Sunflower!”
“Five-year-old Tianxiong Grass!”
“Thirteen-year-old Heaven Gate Fruit!”
“Fifty-year-old Earth Gall!”
The Endless Forest truly lived up to its reputation as a haven for medicinal herbs. Shortly after entering, Wei Lulin discovered numerous valuable plants.
However, he felt a twinge of regret that these herbs, despite their value, were too young to be of significant use. They were indistinguishable from common herbs at this stage and held little value.
Take the Golden Sunflower, for instance. It’s a healing herb that requires at least fifty years to be effective. A hundred-year specimen’s value would increase manifold, and a thousand-year herb would be considered a high-grade elixir, priceless beyond measure.
“Don’t stop, keep moving forward.” Once Wei Ying and his companions entered the territory of the Grade Ten Magical Beasts in the Endless Forest, they didn’t pause but accelerated their pace.
The deeper they went, the higher the likelihood of encountering Grade Ten Magical Beasts, whose strength escalated from Low Rank to Middle Rank, and eventually, High Rank Grade Ten Magical Beasts.
Thankfully, they were still within the territory where the Grade Ten Magical Beasts roamed. The Wei family’s guards easily dispatched the obstructive creatures, clearing their path without much trouble.
Upon seeing the discarded corpse of the magical beast, Wei Lulin felt it was a great waste. Through recent experiments, he had discovered that his copy and paste ability was not only effective in absorbing the Spiritual Force from Spirit Stones but also from flesh and blood, with even more potent effects than from the stones themselves.
For instance, if he absorbed the flesh and blood of the recently slain Middle Rank Grade Ten brown tiger, he wouldn’t just be able to replicate another three hundred strands of Meridian Grass; he could duplicate five hundred, eight hundred, or even a thousand without issue.
Noticing the look of regret in Wei Lulin’s eyes, Wei Ying offered a knowing smile and gently cautioned him, “The flesh of this Grade Ten Magical Beast is rich in Spiritual Force, nearly equivalent to three Low Rank Grade Ten Spirit Stones. In your current state, you shouldn’t consume it, or the rampant Spiritual Force would wreak havoc on your body.”
Even though Wei Lulin realized that Wei Ying had misinterpreted his intentions, he was still deeply appreciative of the elder’s well-meaning warning. After all, Wei Ying was a respected elder of the Wei family, and he was merely an ordinary person.
As they continued their journey, they encountered an increasing number of magical beasts, each more formidable than the last. Yet, the Wei family’s guards were so powerful that they dispatched these creatures swiftly, often without Wei Ying and the other three purple-clad experts needing to intervene, allowing the group to maintain their pace.
Roughly three hours in, Wei Ying abruptly gestured for everyone to halt, then instructed the four guards from the Wei family’s shop, “You four, stay here and await my return.”
“Yes.”
“Stay alert!” Wei Ying, who had maintained a relaxed demeanor, now exhibited a hint of tension, and even a touch of excitement that Wei Lulin detected in his voice.
“Is there a special mission this time?” Wei Lulin wondered, watching Wei Ying’s movements. No matter how clever he was, he couldn’t fathom Wei Ying’s plan.
Barely a kilometer into their resumed trek, a massive tiger nearly seven meters in length and over four meters tall emerged before them.
