Chapter 76 Fabian’s Promotion

Arlan received a phone call from Khalon saying that Diego has already been captured, but there was something from his report that made Arlan suspicious.

"Did you say that those thugs tried to ambush you?" Arlan asked in a low voice.

"That's right, but I managed to kill them without any casualties on our side." Khalon replied.

"Alright. You should return for now. Let Fabian deal with the rest." Arlan said before disconnecting the call. From Khalon's report, he could tell that Diego must have received a tip about the raid and tried to ambush the police officers. Luckily, he sent Khalon to support Fabian or they would have already fallen in that ambush.

"This won't do. I can't rely on Khalon alone. I need more men!" Arlan muttered with a frown.

Leandro's drug cartel had hundreds of men who were unafraid of the police and the army. They also had connections to the government and the police so it was very troublesome to deal with them. If he wanted to completely eliminate the drug cartel, he had to train his own force! Relying on Khalon and Karl alone wouldn't be enough.

Arlan turned his head to Karl and told him. "Karl, I need you to invite some trustworthy people. It would be better if they are from the army or the police."

Karl was a bit surprised by his words. "I have some friends in the army, but can you tell me how many people you want me to invite?"

Arlan lifted his hand.

"Five?" Karl asked tentatively.

Arlan shook his head and muttered. "I need fifty people."

Karl's eyes widened upon hearing this. "F-Fifty people?! Boss, don't tell me you are planning to train your own force?"

"That's right." Arlan nodded his head solemnly.

"Boss, the government might place surveillance on us if they learn about this. You should think about this carefully." Karl thought that it was too risky.

"We don't have a choice. We are fighting against Leandro's men and we can't even rely on the army. Although we have Fabian to support us, he doesn't have much authority in the police. We have to train our own men before Leandro attacks us!" Arlan knew that this decision was risky and once the government learned that he was training a large force, they would certainly send the army and detain him.

Karl pondered silently. He was already deeply involved with Arlan and he could no longer detach himself from him. After a moment of hesitation, Karl muttered with a serious look on his face. "Give me three days. I'll gather fifty men for you!"

Hearing this, Arlan's lips curved upwards. "Good!"

The next day, two shocking news were broadcasted on the news channels. The first one was the capture of Diego who was known as one of Leandro's top dogs. I think you should take a look at

Many were surprised to see him in handcuffs.

Everyone knew how many times the police and the army collaborated just to capture him, but all their attempts ended up in failure.

Fabian and Joshua, the two leaders who led the raid received promotions after the success of their mission. Joshua was promoted to Police Executive Master Sergeant, while Fabian was promoted to Police Lieutenant. The police officers who came with them also received rewards from the higher-ups.

The second news was the most shocking and it made everyone feel that there was a secret hand manipulating everything behind the scenes. Early this morning, Senator Ramon who was in police custody was found unconscious in his cell. He was quickly taken to the hospital, but he later died. According to the doctors, Senator Ramon died of organ failure. However, many people believed that there was a conspiracy behind his death.

Lieutenant Donnyl of the Taguig City Police Station and a few other police officers who were responsible for his safety were either demoted or suspended. After Lieutenant Donnyl was demoted, the newly promoted Police Lieutenant Fabian became the new chief of the Taguig City Police Station.

"They actually killed Senator Ramon!" Arlan's heart turn cold when he heard the news. Senator Ramon was a key person who might have some information about Leandro and his drug cartel. Now that he was dead, the only option left was to interrogate Diego who was captured recently. However, it was still unknown whether he would cooperate with the investigation.

Arlan suspected that Lieutenant Donnyl was responsible for Senator Ramon's death, but he didn't have any conclusive evidence to justify his suspicions. "They acted faster than I expected!" He sighed and shook his head.

Arlan dialed Fabian's number and called him.

"Good afternoon, Lieutenant Fabian! Congratulations!" Arlan said after the call connected.

"Haha! Thank you so much, Arlan! Without your help, I might have been buried in Maragondon. Please convey my thanks to Sir Khalon." Fabian replied in high spirits.

"I'll send him your words. By the way, what do you think about Senator Ramon's death?" Arlan's face turned serious as he shifted the topic.

"Arlan, I think your suspicions were right. It seems like the chief was truly involved with Leandro's drug cartel. It is impossible for someone to kill Senator Ramon unless there was someone who allowed it to happen. We investigated the chief's movements recently, but he already removed all evidence related to him. However, we managed to trace the person who we suspect as the man who poisoned Senator Ramon." Fabian told Arlan all the information they got from their investigation.

"The Senator was poisoned?" Arlan frowned.

"That's right. Senator Ramon was poisoned, but we told the media that he died of organ failure to prevent panic from spreading among the citizens. I know it's wrong, but we have no choice." Fabian sighed.

"You can't be blamed for this. Just tell me if you find any leads about this person that you are tracking."

"Alright."

Arlan disconnected the call. If the police could capture the suspect who poisoned Senator Ramon, they might have some leads to pinpoint the real culprit of the crime.
