Chapter 63 Call From Peter Bacari
While Arlan was chatting with Clementine and Flynn, he suddenly received a call from Peter Bacari, the President of Louis Vuitton.
"Excuse me. I have to take this call." Arlan smiled apologetically at the Eliott siblings.
"Bonjour, Mr. Roa! How are you?"
"I'm good. What about you?"
"I'm doing great ! By the way, are you already here in Paris?"
When Arlan heard this inquiry, he immediately slapped his forehead. He actually forgot about the auction in Paris! He already promised Peter that he would join the auction and the other party might be disappointed if he couldn't come. Thinking about this, Arlan hurriedly said. "I'm still in Maharlika at the moment, but I will fly to Paris soon."
"Is that so? Then please tell me your flight schedule later so that I can fetch you at the airport. I'll make some time for you and give you a short tour here in Paris."
"That sounds good! I can't wait! I'll let you know soon once my flight has been scheduled." Arlan replied before he disconnected the call. He then thought about bringing his parents to France, but he remembered that they didn't have their passports yet.
Arlan wanted to see if he could get them a passport within the day so he dialed Zed's number and called her.
"Good morning, Miss Zed! How are my parents doing in the hotel?" Arlan asked.
"Good morning, Mr. Roa! Sir and Madam are doing well here. I have already bought them some clothes. I also taught them how to use the facilities of the hotel since they are unfamiliar with them. Sir and Madam are still in the process of familiarizing themselves with life here in the city." Zed answered patiently.
Arlan was relieved when he heard this. "Thank you so much for taking care of them, Miss Zed."
"This is my job, Mr. Roa. You don't have to thank me. Besides, I like being around Sir and Madam. They treat me like a part of their family." Zed replied with a soft chuckle.
Arlan couldn't help but smile at her words. "Miss Zed, I just want to ask if there's any way for my parents to get their passports made within the day?"
The other line was silent for a moment at his inquiry. "That would be a bit difficult, Mr. Roa. Usually, the expedited process would take five working days. Even if we talk with the authorities in the Department of Foreign Affairs, it would still take more than 12 hours to release the passport."
Arlan stared at the time on his watch and shook his head bitterly. He couldn't wait that long. The flight to Paris was more than 17 hours so he didn't have enough time to wait for 12 more hours. "Miss Zed, please take some time to get their passports. It would be nice if you can get them their driver's license as well."
"Alright. I will get it done as soon as possible." Zed answered confidently.
"Thank you so much. Bye." Arlan disconnected the call. He felt a bit disappointed that he couldn't bring his parents to Paris. 'It's fine. We still have a lot of time in the future.' He consoled himself.
Khalon already had his documents sorted out so there was nothing to be worried about him.
He then asked one of his maids, Thelma, to book him a ticket to Paris. He also asked her to add Karl and Khalon since he would be bringing them with him.
"Boss, can I also go with you? I can do all your chores! I promise!" Thelma asked with a pleading look. She had never been to Paris before. It was one of the places she wanted to visit, but she didn't have the opportunity because she was always busy with work.
Arlan hesitated when he heard her pleading voice. After careful consideration, he smiled and nodded his head. "Fine. You can go with us." It would be a bit boring if he only brought Karl and Khalon with him to Paris. One was an Advanced Artificial Life Form, while the other one was a simple-minded middle-aged man. If Thelma was with them, he didn't have to worry about doing any menial tasks since she was a very capable woman.
"Yey!" Thelma jumped in joy while clapping her hands.
Arlan couldn't help but stare at her bouncing melons. He didn't know if she was deliberately showing off her curvaceous body, but he liked it. "You should get our tickets now. We will go to the airport as soon as possible." He lightly coughed as he pulled his eyes from her body.
"Yes, boss!" Thelma grinned at him before she walked away.
Arlan shook his head while looking at her. He then called the Eliott siblings and told them the nature of their work. He also told them how they would be paid.
"After a month of temporarily working as bodyguards, we can discuss your terms of employment." Arlan did this since he wanted to observe them for a month. If they did their job well, he would consider hiring them permanently.
Clementine and Flynn nodded their heads at his words.
"For the time being, I have a mission for you two. Your task is to protect my parents. You must not let anyone hurt them. Here are some photos of them." Arlan showed them some pictures of his parents. He then added. "You guys can find them in Pegasus Hotel. I will inform the people of the hotel to save you guys some time."
Clementine and Flynn stared at the pictures of Arlan's parents intently. As former members of the US Air Force, they had this sense of duty that they couldn't easily discard. Once they receive the commands of their superiors, they would carry them out to the best of their abilities.
"We will keep them safe, Mr. Roa! You can rest assured!" Flynn muttered with confidence.
"I know I can trust you both." Arlan smiled at them while patting their shoulders. "If you need some money, just ask the people in the villa. They will provide you with everything you need."
"Yes, Mr. Roa!"
