Chapter 57 Anonymous Tipoff
Fabian was dealing with some paperwork when he noticed his phone vibrating. He took it from the table and saw that Arlan was calling him. 'It's him!'
"Hello, Arlan! Do you need anything from me?"
"Good morning, Uncle Fabian! It's like this... I have something important to discuss with you and it's best if we speak face to face. Do you have some time tonight?" Arlan wanted to be careful so he had to meet Fabian in person. With today's technology, someone could tap one's phone without the owner's knowledge. If that happens, every activity including phone calls done by the owner of the phone would be transmitted to a third party. Arlan was confident that his phone was safe, but things might not be the same for Fabian's device.
Fabian was slightly taken aback by his words. "Is it serious?" He asked in a low voice.
"Yes." Arlan answered calmly.
Fabian furrowed his eyebrows as he replied. "Alright. Let's meet tonight at Pares Point The Original in Chino Roces Makati at 6:30 p.m."
"Thank you for trusting me, Uncle Fabian." Arlan heaved a sigh of relief.
"You're welcome. Arlan, I still have things to go out for a while. We received a tipoff from an anonymous caller that Leandro's people are causing a ruckus at a bar in Taguig. Let's chat tonight."
"Alright. Just give me a call." Arlan said before disconnecting the call. 'A tipoff from an anonymous caller? That sounds suspicious...' He frowned as he thought to himself.
"Boss, I've already copied the footage to the hard drive." Khalon's voice interrupted his thoughts.
Arlan took the hard drive from him and kept it inside his pocket. "Khalon, I have a new mission for you." His words surprised Karl who was driving the car.
Arlan continued. "I want you to follow Fabian. He is on his way to Taguig after they received an anonymous tipoff. This sounds very off, but I could be wrong as well. Don't let anything happen to him. It's fine if he notices you. Just tell him that you were sent by me."
"Yes, boss." Khalon nodded his head.
"You should change first. You will stand out if you wear something like that in public." Arlan chuckled as he shook his head.
Khalon was wearing a standard military uniform and moss-green pants like him. Once he goes out of public in such clothes, he would definitely have a 100% head-turning rate.
Khalon changed into a more casual attire after hearing Arlan's comments. He also put on a cap and a pair of sunglasses to partially cover his scar-riddled face.
"That's better. Just bring your handgun this time. Bringing a rifle in public is too conspicuous." Arlan instructed. He then turned his gaze to Karl and told him. "Karl, drop him off on the highway."
"Yes, boss!" Karl answered right away.

Fabian brought ten police officers with him to Taguig. He knew that Leandro's men were fearless criminals so he equipped his subordinates with bulletproof vests and the standard issue rifle, M16. This wasn't his first mission related to Leandro's people so he was relatively calm. However, the same thing couldn't be said for the other police officers. There were even two new recruits among them and they were already shaking in nervousness.
"Relax... This is just a normal case. You don't have to be so nervous." Said a middle-aged officer who was also a Police Corporal to the two newbies.
"Sir, we couldn't help it. We've heard a lot of bad things about Leandro from our trainers." Replied a newbie who had a crew cut.
The other newbie was a young woman in her early twenties. She wasn't exactly pretty, but she had a great figure. She nodded her head in agreement. "He is right, Sir. According to our trainers, we've already lost a couple of officers because of Leandro's drug cartel."
The middle-aged Police Corporal shook his head at their words. "Alright. Stop talking. Your words are lowering our team's morale."
"Shut up! We're already here." Fabian glared at his subordinates who immediately lowered their heads upon meeting his gaze.
Fabian grabbed his M16 rifle before stepping out of the police car. He then turned his head at the two newbies and said. "You two stay behind us. George, we'll lead the way this time."
"Yes, Sir!" The middle-aged Police Corporal, George, answered sternly.
From outside the establishment, they could already hear the commotion going on inside. It sounds like there were people shouting and there were also sounds of glasses shattering.
"Move! Go! Go! Go!" Fabian patted George's shoulder as he signaled for the team to move inside the establishment.
George led the pack. He had a serious look on his face as he carefully aimed his M16 rifle at every corner of the establishment.
Suddenly, he saw someone pointing a gun at him when they entered the main hall of the establishment.
"Take cover!" George shouted as he pulled the trigger of his M16 rifle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Shots were fired between and the gunman was swiftly taken down, but George was also hit in the shoulder.
"I'm hit! I'm hit!" George gritted his teeth as he leaned on the wall with a sweating face.
"Don't move! I'll bandage the wound!" Fabian swiftly came to his side and bandaged George's wound to slow down the bleeding.
George groaned in pain.
Looking at the injured veteran, the other police officers became nervous, especially the two newbies.
"Stay here. We will do the rest." Fabian patted George's helmet.
"Sir, I won't let them escape from this spot!" George muttered. He could barely lift his left shoulder and this would greatly impede his shooting and movement. He didn't want to slow down the rest of the team so he could only comply with Fabian's commands.
Fabian nodded his head. "You two stay here with George. Some of those thugs might escape this way so you have to be prepared for them." The two people he pointed were the newbie female officer and a slightly chubby police officer.
"The rest of you follow me inside!"
"Yes, Sir!"
