Chapter 175 The First Zombie
[Congratulations! You can now claim your last daily reward!]
[Do you want to claim your daily reward?]
[Yes]
Arlan pressed [Yes], but there was no joy in his eyes.
[Congratulations! You claimed a Zombie Dictionary!]
A book appeared in front of him and he quickly grabbed it. "A book?" He mumbled in confusion.
Arlan took a seat and stared at the book in his hands.
'Zombie Dictionary'
Arlan opened the book and saw an image of a ruins depicted in the book and there was also a short paragraph about the zombie apocalypse.
Arlan flipped through the pages and discovered that everything in the book was about the types of zombies and their respective characteristics.
[Normal Zombie]
- Retains the strength of the host and will become more aggressive after discovering a prey.
- It has sensitive hearing and a powerful sense of smell.
- Its weakness is its mobility and lack of intelligence.
- It will grow stronger the more nutrients it consumes.
There was an image of the [Normal Zombie] in the book. Its skin was pale white with purple spots and its teeth were sharp like razor blades. Its arms were significantly longer with sharp tiger-like claws.
Arlan felt goosebumps as he stared at the image of the normal zombie. According to the book, this zombie was the weakest, but its physical abilities were already stronger than humans. Without proper weapons, humans would only die if they fought against them.
[Hunter Type Zombie]
- Its speed is at least twice that of a normal zombie.
- It has great mobility and is more intelligent than normal zombies.
- Its weakness is its lack of stamina. After prolonged activity, the strength of Hunter Type Zombies will slowly decrease.
- It will grow...
[Tank Type Zombie]
- Its power is at least three times that of a normal zombie.
- Its body is covered with thick skin, providing it with natural armor.
- Its weakness is its slow speed and mobility.
- It will grow...
[Spitter Type Zombie]
- It spits off a highly infectious and corrosive liquid.
- Its body is very slimy and slippery.
- Its weakness is its slow speed and mobility.
- It will grow...
Other than the normal zombie, there were also three more types of zombies. Arlan took a deep breath after reading their descriptions. "The normal zombie is still fine, but these three zombies..."
Arlan flipped a few more pages of the book, but he soon discovered that the rest of the pages were empty. He closed the book and hastily left his room.
He headed straight to Winter's office and gave her the book.
"What's this?" Winter asked while looking at the book on top of her desk.
"Open it and you'll know." Arlan answered in a serious voice.
Winter didn't say anything and grabbed the book. After reading the book, she slowly put it down and turned her gaze to Arlan. "I will update the virtual world based on the details written in this book. We need to train our men on how to face these zombies. It would be dangerous if we send them out without preparations." She said in a cold voice.
"Please do that." Arlan nodded his head gravely. His soldiers needed practical training and the virtual world was the safest method to train them. "Is there any news about the zombie virus?" He asked in a low voice.
Winter grabbed her laptop and showed him a video that had gone viral on the internet.
There was a woman in the video. Her clothes were covered in blood and her disheveled hair covered her face so it was difficult to see what she looked like. She was growling with an animalistic voice as the people on the video tried to prevent her from attacking anyone.
"Ggrrrr!!!"
"Hey, stop! We aren't going to hurt you!"
"Just stay still and stop hurting us!"
"Ggrrr!!!"
Arlan's face was glued to the screen as the video continued. He couldn't see the skin of the woman because she was wearing a long-sleeved dress so he didn't know if she was a zombie. However, her strange behavior and animal-like growls indicated that she might be a zombie.
Soon, one of the people who tried to stop the woman was pushed to the ground and she lunged at him. She then scratched the person with her sharp claw-like nails.
"Ahhhh!!! Helppp!"
"Ggrrrrrrr!!!"
Arlan paused the video at this point and zoomed in on the face of the woman. Her face was pale white and her teeth were like saw blades.
"This... Where did this happen?" Arlan asked while looking at Winter.
"Islamabad, Pakistan." She replied with an expressionless face.
"What was the response of the Pakistan government?"
"They thought that the woman was a lunatic and they put her in a mental institution. As for the victim... he was hospitalized. He is still unconscious at this moment. I'm observing the two of them through the CCTV in their rooms." Winter responded.
"Post the video on social media and make sure that it goes viral." Arlan could only do this to warn the people of the possible dangers.
"Understood." Winter nodded her head as she grabbed her laptop. She then proceeded with the task and completely ignored Arlan.
Arlan stood up and left her office. He then convened the important members of his organization inside a conference room. He also invited a representative from the Montefalco Family and the De Guzman Family. His former business partners, Laurence Finn, Peter Baccari, and a few others were also invited to the conference room.
Everyone stared at Arlan. They noticed that he looked very serious, unlike his usual jolly expression. They could tell that he was about to tell them something important.
"Mr. Roa, why did you call all of us here?" Rex De Guzman could no longer hold back his curiosity after more than a few minutes of silence.
Arlan raised his head and looked at him. He asked Winter to send him a copy of the video so he didn't start the meeting right away. "I apologize for making you guys wait. Today, I will show you something we discovered in Islamabad, Pakistan." He said while turning on the projector.
He then played the video he saw in Winter's office.
