I Can Claim Daily Rewards

Chapter 172 99th Daily Reward, Sigurd

After Arlan told his friends about the zombie virus, some of them were skeptical about it, but after his relentless efforts, he finally made them relocate to the island fortress which he now renamed as Last City.

It took him more than two weeks to convince everyone to live in Last City. At this moment, all of his people had already relocated. He even managed to drag twenty thousand soldiers of the country with the commanding general's help.

Last City could accommodate five hundred thousand people and more than half of the houses were occupied after nearly three hundred thousand people moved into the city. Most of them still didn't know the reason for the relocation. They were only told that Arlan was giving free housing to his employees.

The average family in Maharlika could only dream about having their own homes because of the skyrocketing prices of housing so when they heard about Arlan's free housing program, they immediately grabbed the opportunity.

Today, Arlan claimed his 99th daily reward.

[Congratulations! You claimed a chance to create an Artificial Life Form!]

Arlan was ecstatic when he saw the reward. Khalon and Winter were very useful in his faction. One was the brain of his organization, while the other was his greatest protector. He wouldn't be able to accomplish what he had made today without the two of them.

Arlan quickly edited the character customization panel to create the Artificial Life Form he had in mind. 'I already have Khalon as my protector and Winter as my advisor. I need someone who could fearlessly lead my soldiers on the frontlines.' He thought to himself.

Arlan edited the character into what he thought would be the best figure for a fighter. It was a man with light brown skin. He seemed to be in his early thirties. He had short blonde hair and a thick beard which made him look like a Viking of the olden times. He stood an intimidating 6'5 feet which was almost as tall as Khalon's height. He had a physique like that of a professional athlete and Arlan made sure that his stamina was high when he was editing the character's features.

Soon, a blonde-haired man with a hawk-like gaze stood in front of him. "From now on, your name will be Sigurd."

Sigurd nodded his head. He clenched his right hand into a fist and placed it on his chest. "Yes, master."

"Call me boss."

"Yes, boss."

"Good!" Arlan grinned while looking at Sigurd. "Follow me. Let's test your skills."

Arlan brought Sigurd to the training facility of Last City. He also summoned Khalon and a few other strong fighters to watch.

"Why did the boss bring us here?" Conrad whispered to Karl who was standing beside him.

"Haven't you noticed? The people here are the best soldiers under the boss' command. Even Sir Khalon and Miss Winter are both here. Maybe the boss wants to observe the progress of our training." Karl replied in a whispering voice.

Conrad nodded his head in agreement. This made him fired up for some reason. If Karl's words were true, that means Arlan had already recognized his abilities.

"Everyone, this is Sigurd. He is a new member of our group, but you should treat him with respect. Do you understand?" Arlan scanned the faces of everyone as he introduced Sigurd to them. Some of them looked curiously at Sigurd, while the others were unimpressed. All of them had already proven themselves to the organization so they felt that it was unfair for someone new to be treated like them.

"It seems like you guys are not happy with this." Arlan chuckled when he saw their expression. "Alright. How about this? Whoever can defeat him in hand-to-hand combat can do whatever they want."

Everyone was taken aback by his words. From Arlan's confident smile, they guessed that the new guy must be a strong fighter. Although Sigurd was taller than most of them, everyone present was already injected with the Body Enhancing Serum. They were much stronger than they looked.

"Boss, I want to challenge him." Cedrick stepped in to take the first challenge. Everyone stared at him with narrowed eyes. Cedrick's strength was only slightly beneath that of Karl and Conrad, but his commanding ability was ahead of the two. He was one of the best commanders in Arlan's organization.

"Alright. The rules are simple. You just need to knock down your opponent or make them submit. You can use any form of martial arts, but hitting the vital areas is strictly prohibited. You may begin!" Arlan said before he stepped back.

Krizia walked beside him and asked. "Boss, who is that new guy? He looks strong, but Cedrick has been injected with the serum. No normal humans could defeat him."

Arlan smiled at her and replied. "Just watch. That guy is a descendant of a Viking family. He is no normal man." He bullshitted. This would be a good background for Sigurd and he would tell the same thing to everyone.

"A descendant of a Viking family?" Krizia was stunned by his words. She turned her gaze towards Sigurd and a trace of expectation flashed in her eyes.

Meanwhile, Cedrick adjusted his posture as he stared at Sigurd. "I didn't challenge you for some petty reasons. I just want to test out the results of my training."

Sigurd nodded his head. Arlan made his personality similar to that of a Viking so if someone showed him respect, Sigurd would do the same.

More people came to the training facility to watch the fight. Most of them were soldiers, but there were also some ordinary civilians among the spectators.

"Lieutenant General Rivera's people are here. They must have heard about this so they came to watch the show." Krizia whispered to Arlan while looking over at a group of soldiers standing together.

Arlan followed her gaze and smiled when he saw them. "It seems like the commanding general is interested in this. Why don't you invite him here to watch with us?"

"Alright, boss."
