I Became the Henchman of a Novel’s Villain

Chapter 9 - Finally, the chance to say that line!

Chapter 9: Finally, the chance to say that line!

The public security in the Magic City was generally good, but that was just for appearances. In places where there were barely any streetlights, chaos reigned beyond what one could imagine.

Sure enough, these four young men, who were learning how to rob, saw Bai Zhou’s Mercedes and their eyes lit up. Out of nowhere, they pulled out four shiny machetes.

As soon as the machetes were brandished, Tian Niu, curled up in front of the Mercedes, was dumbfounded.

She suddenly had a thought: The city is too dangerous; I want to go back to my countryside!

One of the men, holding a large machete, shouted at the car: “Kid! If you know what’s good for you, get out of the car!”

“Hehehe, we were just out for some easy prey, but it looks like we hit the jackpot!”

“Get out of the car! Damn it, can’t you understand what we’re saying?!”

As he spoke, he banged on the hood of the Mercedes, not caring about the car at all since it wasn’t his.

Bai Zhou looked at the four men outside, surprised, thinking to himself: “Are these four idiots?!”

They acted like rabid dogs, biting whoever they encountered. Normally, petty thugs who rob women in secluded alleys wouldn’t dare touch someone driving a Mercedes, right?

At the very least, they should have some sense of self-preservation.

Smack!  Bai Zhou slapped his forehead in frustration, thinking:

“Right! I forgot, I’m in a novel world …”

Well …

Bai Zhou sighed helplessly. He picked up the dagger Li Tai had given him from inside the car and was about to get out when he heard Tian Niu’s tearful voice: “Aren’t you robbing me? He has nothing to do with this! He’s an innocent man!”

That’s right, Tian Niu actually said something like that.

When she heard the robbers shouting, she suddenly realized: It’s over! I’ve gotten him into trouble! They were just after my money; this has nothing to do with him!

That’s why she’s called a fool! In most cases like this, wouldn’t someone run away as soon as the attention wasn’t on them? But no, she tried to redirect the robbers’ attention back to herself!

With a “click,” before the four robbers could respond, Bai Zhou had already opened the car door and stepped out.

Seeing a young man in his twenties exit the car, looking completely harmless, the four robbers realized they had probably hit the jackpot!

A fat sheep!

Hahaha!

The four robbers’ eyes gleamed as they looked at Bai Zhou.

“I’m sorry … I’m sorry … I got you involved …” Tian Niu continued playing her original novel character perfectly.

She wasn’t acting—it was her character design that limited her to such an honest reaction.

“Kid! You’re smart to comply!” One of the young men, with an unlit cigarette dangling from his lips, waved his machete at Bai Zhou and sneered: “Hurry up! Hand over your money, or don’t make me search you!”

Bai Zhou looked at the robber and, pretending to be confused, pointed at himself and asked: “Me? Are you talking to me?”

“No sht! Who else could it be?!”

At this moment, Tian Niu, curled up on the ground, suddenly found some strength and jumped up.

She rushed to Bai Zhou’s side in two steps, grabbed his hand, and started pulling him away, saying: “Run! I’m sorry, I dragged you into this!!”

But after pulling him once, he didn’t move!

“What are you doing? Run!!” Tian Niu was genuinely panicked!

But the man she had implicated stood there, like a fool, not budging.

“Hahahaha …”  Seeing this, the four young men laughed even more wildly!

The same guy with the unlit cigarette pointed at Bai Zhou and mocked: “Hahaha! Scared stiff, huh? Never seen a machete before? Hahaha! Hurry up and hand over the money, or …”

Before he could finish his sentence, he felt someone tugging at him from the side.

“What?” He turned around, annoyed, and asked his companion.

But when he looked, he saw that his three companions were all staring wide-eyed, their eyes filled with … terror?

The companion who was tugging at him shakily pointed to the front of the Mercedes and said: “L-look … at the license plate …”

“License plate? What about it? It’s …”

As he turned to look, all the arrogance and confusion vanished from his face. His expression froze instantly. Then, from his legs up to his entire body, he started trembling.

The license plate read: “Mo A·LT006”!

The two letters, “LT,” stood out clearly in his eyes!

In the entire Magic City, there was only one person who dared to use a license plate starting with “LT”!

Of course, this was also part of the novel’s setting. For these thugs, their first lesson before going out to rob was: “A car with an ‘LT’ license plate is someone you can never mess with in your lifetime!!”

The young man with the cigarette clenched between his teeth was now trembling uncontrollably: “L-l-l…Li Tai… Li…”

Shwing!

The four of them simultaneously turned around.

“Run!!”

Without any hesitation, they turned and fled. They were terrified that if they ran even a bit slower, their lives would be forfeit.

“Did I say you could leave?”

That sentence—those arrogant words! How many times had Bai Zhou read this in novels! Finally, he had the chance to say it himself!!

It felt amazing!

“Did I say you could leave?!”

Bai Zhou’s voice, devoid of any emotion, echoed.

Screech!

The four men, fleeing in panic, came to an abrupt stop, as if, like the Mercedes, they had slammed on the brakes!

It even seemed as if their shoes had left skid marks on the ground.

The dim, narrow road plunged into silence.
