I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal

Chapter 130 - 130 Another Murder Case

130 Another Murder Case

Shen Yin flung his hand aside. She did not understand why this person insisted on pestering her since he did not intend to commit to her.

She looked at Lian Jing expressionlessly. “If you want to play, you should find someone who is willing to play with you. But obviously, I’m not that kind of person. I just want to live a stable life.”

“You think you’ll have a stable life with Cheng Huo?” Lian Jing said anxiously and angrily, “Cheng Huo is like a poisonous snake in our circle. As long as someone is willing to pay him, he will bite whoever they order him to bite. He does all kinds of sinister things. He’s not someone who can give you a stable life.”

Shen Yin sighed softly. “You don’t understand. I never planned to be involved in a circle that is so foreign to me. Lian Jing, let go. At least we have Nian Nian and we can still be friends.”

“Friends?” Lian Jing glared at her and fiercely pulled her towards him. He grabbed her chin and released his anger by kissing her.

!!

Shen Yin pushed him away in disgust and slapped him. Her voice came out of the pitch-black night, so cold that it made one’s heart freeze. “Lian Jing, get lost!”

This slap woke up Lian Jing, who had been in an angry haze. He looked at the cold woman in front of him in disbelief. She was just as resistant to him as when they first met.

Helplessness and exhaustion rose from the bottom of his heart. Lian Jing lowered his head dejectedly and turned to leave the room without a word. He never returned.

After sending off the person who did not belong here, Shen Yin returned to her room and fell asleep.

In her dream, she was on an island. The forest on the island was lush. It was evening and the shadows of the trees darkened the sand and rocks, hiding the last light from the setting sun.

Shen Yin walked aimlessly about the island until she saw an ancient house at the end of a path. In front of the old house stood a man, his back to her.

He was wearing a crisply-ironed suit. When he heard Shen Yin’s rapid breathing behind him, he turned his head slightly. His voice was like an abandoned ancient well, dry and unpleasant. “You’re finally here.”

“Who are you?” Shen Yin opened her mouth, but no sound came out. She clutched her throat in horror, and her mind grew confused.

However, the man seemed to have heard her voice and slowly turned around. The scavenging crows that were perched on the branches suddenly flapped their wings.

Shen Yin tried her best to open her eyes wide and saw that face on top of the slender neck was featureless.

“I crawled out of hell to see you, Shen Yin.”

“Ah!” Shen Yin screamed and sat up, her voice trembling violently.

Looking at the familiar room, her wildly beating heart finally slowed.

When Li Zi heard the commotion, she thought that something had happened to Shen Yin and rushed in. She hugged Shen Yin, who was covered in cold sweat, and patted her back gently. “It’s alright. Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

Shen Yin closed her eyes and pushed the blank face out of her mind. She forced a smile and shook her head. “It was just a nightmare. I’ll take a shower and go to work.”

Li Zi nodded and saw the gown by her bed. She smiled and took a set of clothes from her closet and handed them to her. “Wear mine.”

Shen Yin gratefully washed up and Li Zi gave her a ride to work.

As soon as she entered the police station, Zou Sheng hurried up to her. “Sister, we were waiting for you. There’s been a murder.”

Shen Yin nimbly got into the car and Zou Sheng and the others briefed her.

Zou Sheng sat in the back seat. He pulled up the police record and read, “The crime scene is the back of an old house in the East District. The person who reported the crime was an old lady who swept the road this morning. It was reported that the victim was a woman, and it was very likely that she was pregnant.”

“What do you mean it’s very likely?” Meng Heng frowned and asked in confusion, “Couldn’t the old lady tell if the body was pregnant?”

Zou Sheng sighed. “The person who reported the case was very frightened at that time. There will discrepancies in her description. We’ll see for ourselves when we get there.”

Wu Zheng drove the police car and parked steadily behind a dilapidated old building in the East District.

Although there were many police officers maintaining order at the crime scene, they could not withstand the rush of the onlookers who had come to see what was happening. The scene was very chaotic.

The police who had arrived at the crime scene first had already taken the cleaner, who had reported the incident, to the police station to take her a statement. Shen Yin took out the white coat and gloves that she always kept in the trunk. After putting them on, she showed her forensic pass to the police officer in charge of guarding the site. Then, she pulled aside the police tape and led the way in.

After seeing the corpse, Shen Yin understood why the person who reported the case used the words “very likely” in her description.

The victim was obviously a woman. She had died a horrible death. Her abdomen had been cut open and all the organs were missing. From the marks on her abdomen, it was clear that the victim was more than five months pregnant. The fetus and uterus had been removed.

Shen Yin frowned. She raised the victim’s arm and carefully examined the tiny needle mark at the elbow. She had a preliminary hypothesis about the cause of death.

“Sister, how is it? This is too disgusting!” Zou Sheng covered his mouth and turned around with a pale face, not daring to look at the corpse.

He was no longer a rookie, but in all his years as a police officer, he had never seen such a crazy murder. This was even more disgusting than the dismembered corpse.
