I Became A System

Chapter 212 - Worst Nightmare

An eye-opener. Diana's words hit Isabella so hard that she started doubting her resolution.

Why was she even so obsessed? It's not like that there will be no time to grow and enjoy the process. But for Isabella, it was as if she was obliged to do it.

Isn't it better to wait for the process to finish? She was rushing.

But just as the tension between them surrounded the whole carraige, they became silent. Tears were also dropping from Diana's eyes.

While they were silent, the assistant suddenly opened the door with a worried expression.

"Princesses! Huh?... Never mind. Let's go! We have to escape. The elites will buy us time, so let's use the time to escape!"

Now, everything has turned different for Isabella. She wasn't acting brightly. Because of it, she unintentionally became stupid.

She didn't think of other people and was fixed on one objective. The reason why she wanted to study was to help Ellena. Also, she worked hard in training with the same determination. But right now, it was all set aside. She was starting to see the world wider.

What will happen to the elites? They are putting themselves at risk and are also prepared to sacrifice their lives. But right now, she was thinking of putting her life at risk, making their sacrifice in vain.

It all crumbled. The thought of assisting them, and as she remembered other people around her, she grabbed the assistant's arm.

"Let's go. Let's escape."

The asisstant smiled and grabbed the two of them before using her ability to teleport.

The three of them teleported far away from the scene. However, they were too far away. More appropriate, they were closer to the capital, which was just 200 kilometers away.

Because of the tremendous usage of her stamina, when they finally escaped from the battle, she was panting, leaning on a tree nearby them.

It was also fortunate for them that they didn't appear in a more dangerous place. With it, the assistant was relieved and used her time to rest.

Meanwhile, the two girls were awkward with each other. In fact, Diana was still shedding tears and Isabella was the only one awkward.

"I'm sorry about earlier." Isabella said. "I acted immaturely."

Diana just wiped the remaining tears away and then faced her.

"It's okay. I know you're having a hard time."

The two girls continued apologizing to each other, and after a few minutes of resting, the assistant finally had the energy to stand up.

She stood up then reached the two girls.

"Let's go. We can at least find a nearby city or a village. Please wear these robes to cover your garments."

As it is dangerous to walk with some kind of expensive gamrnets, the assistant pleaded for them to wear a robe. Without questioning where it came from, the two girls wore the robe then followed her.

At least since the assistant had studied the map and geography, she could feel that there would be a nearby road. However, walking in a robe without any guards is dangerous. And thus, the assistant decided to take the woods.

In this way, the only danger they have to dodge is encountering monsters. It would surely attract bandits' attention if they walked down the main road.

After some time, they felt tired again. Resting, Isabella started making something using her rune.

"What are you doing, Young Miss Isabella?" the assistant asked.

"Ah. This? I am making a weapon for us, Venus. Since it will be problematic in fighting close-combat with our number, we can at least have throwing weapons." Isabella explained.

She picked up another twig and started softening it. When it was finally soft, she formed it into a more balanced, pointed object. After that, she took some rock, put it inside of the reformed twig, and finally turned it back into a hard object.

Diana and Venus still couldn't be contented with watching Isabella do it. And when she was finally finished making 4 throwing weapons, they praised her.

"That was amazing. I still couldn't get enough of watching your ability, Isabella." Diana said with an optimistic smile.

"Thanks. At least I can help our trip with this, " she responded.

"Don't worry, Young Miss, I will use this properly." Venus said as she accepted the throwing weapons.

"Thanks."

They all safely ventured into the woods. Even when they met monsters, they didn't pose any threat to them, unlike the B to A-ranked monsters earlier. Also using the throwing weapons, Venus wisely used it to kill monsters that she couldn't reach.

However, their safety didn't last longer. After a few hours of venturing, an aura exploded from afar. Venus was alarmed and so she assisted the two girls to safety. However, it was too late. They didn't escape the aura as it went directly in their direction.

"Shit!"

The aura almost pushed them. A strong pressure pushes them to be thrown, but they hold onto a tree just to be safe. And as the aura started to disappear, they breathed out.

"What was that?" Venus pondered because the occurrence was too sudden to be logical.

They didn't know what it was, or even if it had happened before. But as they didn't want to waste any time since it was getting darker, they continued moving even with their damaged clothes.

"Hooo... You did well in escaping."

Everyone gets to their ready position, alarmed by what they just heard.

It was a deep, hoarse voice of some villain. Resounding in each location of the surrounding area, they didn't know where to stay alert.

"Please keep quiet for now, Princesses." Venus hushed as she hid the two girls under a bush, then she left them to find the person.

"Where are you going?" Diana asked in a low-tone voice.

"I will kill that person. We don't know who he is, but I know for sure that he is a danger."

Then, Venus finally left them and walked towards the north at a precise and slow pace. But to their surprise, before Venus could even find the person, a dark aura and figureless entity stood before her.

"Goodbye!" The entity said, then the surroundings exploded again.

Isabella gasped in surprise as the explosion covered her, and at the same time, she woke up inside the carriage.

When she woke up, she was baffled to notice that she was inside the carriage. Also, Diana noticed Isabella hysterically moving as if she just had a nightmare.

"Are you okay, Isabella?" Diana asked.

And just when Isabella heard it, she was startled.

"What happened?" Isabella suddenly asked, dumbfounding Diana.

"Why are you asking me that question? I am supposed to be the one who'll ask you that question." Then she chuckled after it.

Isabella caressed her temple and thought about it. She didn't know what happened or if it was just a bad dream.

'However, it was too realistic. It wasn't like a dream, " she thought, but the next second was a turner for her.

She was flabbergasted when she heard a voice ringing in her head.

[Of course it wasn't a dream, young fellow. Welcome, I am your worst nightmare!]
