Chapter 192 - The Ungrateful Villagers
It was fast. I mean, the five became Ellena's subordinates.
Kekeke. I don't mean in a way that they submitted to Ellena. I just feel like they respect Ellena. Perhaps, by their standards, Ellena is a genius.
Well, I don't need to worry anymore. Perhaps it's because I know what the weaknesses of monsters like spiders are.
They are weak against fire.
Ellena used Stealth then moved to the side without touching any web. This will become an easy subjugation since Ellena and the rest are strong..
The five are strong. And that's why Gero was with them since that group didn't need to fight.
I even thought that the reason why they didn't question Ellena was that they trusted her capabilities.
It's better, anyway.
And thus, the stealth infiltration started. With Ellena being sure that the five reached the villagers, Ellena took the attention of the sleeping Dark Dreadful Spider.
It was a huge spider that perhaps reached a height of 3.5 meters. It has dark legs as well as dark eyes that look as if they are deep as an abyss.
When the webs' vibration on the villager's side reached the spider, it woke up immediately and acted to rush on the villagers' side. However, Ellena had already prepared a fire and shot it towards the monster, making it distracted.
It also made a squirming sound with the heat of the fire damaging its eyes.
Ellena smiled then took out the magic gun, pointing at the spider. She also threw Light and maneuvered it in the air, slicing the monster a bit. And as the gun was finally loaded, Ellena launched a lightning blast.
Wow... that magic technique I made was truly amazing. I can only see it right now since it was its first time attacking an A to S rank monster, and in my words, it was truly powerful.
It didn't kill the monster in one hit, but it was enough to make it weak and lose some energy to stand.
Ellena loaded the magic gun again, but somehow she wanted to change the use of the gun.
Clang!
"Fuck! What have you done, Ellena?!"
I was baffled for the next second. Ellena destroyed the grips of the gun. Why?!!!
"I don't need this anyway. I have strong hands, so it's better to hold them with one hand. And my other arm is for Light."
I was speechless. Why do unnecessary things? It's not as if it would make the fight finish immediately.
Well, I mean, she has other guns like the Glock-19, which can be ammoed using her lightning balls. But it has fewer joules that it can produce.
Abruptly, Ellena called for Light to her left with the handle-less magic gun. And with it, she leaped through the stems of the trees around her.
The spider was squirming, targetting randomly as its eyes were still blind. And by it, Ellena blasted another lightning blast when she was in the air. The sword she grasped in her left arm was pointing towards the head of the monster.
And after it, the lightning hit the monster, taking another damage from Ellena's attack.
Zazk!
Ellena thrusts the sword in the middle of its head, spewing out green liquid from it.
The monster was dead, immediately.
"That was fast. I never thought I could fight a monster this strong within just a few seconds." Ellena mumbled in awe as she looked at the corpse of the monster.
I bet it was because of the advantage Ellena had. First, it didn't have enough time to move around. Spiders are fast, but the sudden attack that blinded its vision had a significant impact on the fight.
Second, it didn't have a chance to hit her with the webs because of the fire. And lastly, it received too many wounds from Light.
Ellena breathed out, then took the corpse inside Inventory without caring who could see it.
Well, no one would see it as the five and the villagers were on the other side of this thick forest.
"Let's go," Ellena said before we finally went to the other side.
Standing there was Gero, who had a worried face.
Ellena just smiled and put back her mask, as she had removed it earlier before fighting the monster.
The other masked five, who made them look like dreadful creatures because of the creepy drawing on their masks, stood afar, watching the villagers who were groaning.
"Welcome back, Big Sister Noelle!" Gero greeted her as soon as we returned.
Ellena nodded then tapped Gero's shoulder.
"So, after this, what's next?" Ellena asked.
"I don't know." Gero was just silent after that, then the villagers woke up.
They looked in every direction with fear on their face, but as soon they realized they weren't on the web, they sighed.
"Thank you." A bulky man said to Ellena that she was in front of them when they woke up.
Ellena shook her head and then pointed at Gero from afar.
"Thank him. If not for him, I won't think of saving you who hurt him." Ellena coldly said.
The villagers slowly laid their eyes on Gero but were confused when they saw his hair was green.
Well, they won't expect the kid they loathed to dare to save them. But hell yeah! The audacity is blazing! Instead of apologizing and thanking him, the villagers one by one rushed to Gero with a shout.
"Y-You! You! It's because of you!" Then they continued blaming Gero for all of their sufferings while they were rushing to him. Gero was dumbfounded and trembled in agitation as the villagers approached him with terrifying eyes.
However, before they could approach Gero, they were restrained as roots from the ground started appearing, holding their feet on the ground.
"Who are you?! We are grateful that you saved us, but we can't thank this kid! He must be the one who controlled that monster because he hated us!"
Everyone was defeated and blinded by their anger. Their yells overwhelmed one another's shouts, as well as Gero's, who was covering his ears in fear.
They were all targeting him, endlessly, without even thinking that he was still a child.
"Isn't that your fault?" Ellena mumbled but it was heard by the villagers.
"What? What do you even know that makes you right to say that?!" they retorted.
Ellena stood up from her seat then slowly approached them.
"Isn't it your fault? If it was truly his fault for controlling that monster, why would he save you? Isn't it your fault to be in that state? The death of your neighbors and families, isn't that your fault? Instead of blaming him, how can't you say thanks to him?"
All of them were silent. It was because Ellena's voice was filled with anger that they couldn't even dare to move.
I mean, they are all commoners and their combined powers won't stand against the monster, or even Ellena, who defeated it.
"You are all loathful but you didn't even think that he was just clueless as you blamed him. He was born with it and didn't wish for it. But do you all dare to say it was his fault? Stupid."
Then after it, without moving from their stand, they were all frozen until Ellena and others left them.
'They can't even thank him.' Ellena cursed that was leaked through our connection.
