Chapter 355 - Not Your Daddy
"Netherglow City does identity checks at the gate before one is allowed into the city. Do you have any identification, Your Excellency?" the grass-collecting group leader inquired while suspecting Albion has no identification.
"What kind of identification do you want?" Albion replied nonchalantly without taking the identity check seriously.
He couldn't care less about this so-called identification check.
Even if he has to break into the city by force, the guards will not be able to stop him, and once he is inside, no one can track him either.
After all, he had inherited the Dark Emperor's art of disguise.
Nevertheless, when the grass-collecting group leader heard his answer, the grass-collecting group leader immediately confirmed that Albion has no identifications.
'Sure enough, this True Immortal does know anything about Netherglow City's identification process; he's not a local,' the entire grass-collecting group confirmed.
"This… well, it's fine if you don't have any identification, Your Excellency. I just need to speak a few words to the gatekeeper, and you will be given a temperorary pass and granted access without problem," the group leader assured.
"Really? You'll do such a thing for me? You're actually a nice guy, aren't you?" Albion replied with an exaggerated expression of pleasant surprise.
Without surprise, the group leader's lips twitched when he heard Albion's response.
His sarcasm could not be more obvious.
"Of course, Your Excellency. It's my honor to handle simple matters like this for you, an honorable True Immortal," the group leader said with a forced smile.
The entire grass-collecting group's lives were practically in the True Immortal's hand.
If the True Immortal becomes unhappy with anything, there's a high chance that the True Immortal would slaughter everyone around him.
After all, one had to be some crazy killing fiend who had slaughtered billions of lives to cultivate such a thick and brutal killing intent.
"Well then, I'll thank you in advance," Albion said with a slight smile.
He did not believe the slightest bit in the nether spirit's sincerity.
The flying artifact eventually reached the gates of Netherglow City before they were forced to descend and go through the identification process.
"Within the walls of Netherglow City is strictly a no-fly zone, Your Excellency. Law-breakers will be heavily punished and thrown into prison," the group leader informed as they skipped the long queue and headed to the front.
Of course, he did not mention that anyone unlucky enough to be thrown into jail will never see the light of day again.
However, he did not warn the True Immortal with such good intentions.
He just didn't want to see a bunch of law enforcers losing their lives while trying to capture a mass-murdering True Immortal.
"I see," Albion answered without much thought on the matter.
"We're here, Your Excellency," the group leader declared after they arrived in front of a booth beside the main gate. "Please give me a moment to talk to the gatekeeper."
"Alright, but make it quick. I don't like waiting," Albion stated.
The group leader initially intended to take his time talking to the gatekeeper and secretly get people to send word to the Lord of Netherglow City.
However, he quickly changed his mind after hearing the True Immortal's words.
"I'll be sure to be quick, Your Excellency," the group leader promised.
Albion casually watched the group leader walk up to the booth and talk to the gatekeeper behind it before the gatekeeper threw some glances over to him and nodded.
A few breaths later, the group leader returned and passed him a transparent red crystal with some engravings on it.
"This is your temporary pass, Your Excellency. You just need to show this to the guards by the gate before you are granted access into the city," the group leader informed him.
"Also, if you want to apply for an official identification stone, you can head to the Netherglow Identification Department and hand them the temporary pass to them before they run you through the formal procedures to obtain one."
"I see," Albion uttered while glancing at the temporary pass. "I might just check it out later."
The transparent red crystal in his hand and the other red crystals that nether spirits showed to the guards for city entry have attracted his curiosity.
They were all considered spiritual tools.
"That's good, that's good… Since you have arrived at Netherglow City, can you let us go now, Your Excellency?" the group leader requested to be set free.
However, Albion raised an eyebrow at him.
"Hm? Why do you need to ask me about something like that? Did I say you can't leave unless I say you can?" he questioned the grass-collecting group leader with an amused smile.
"I only said I will follow you to Netherglow City, did I not?"
"That… you have certainly said that, Your Excellency," the group leader admitted that was indeed the case.
Nevertheless, he still showed great hesitation.
"Then, we will leave now…?" he said unconfidently.
"Otherwise?" Albion replied before adding, "Look here, buddy; if you want to stay, stay. If you want to leave, leave. I'm not your daddy, alright? You don't need to seek my permission, capiche?"
"Yes, yes, you're totally right, Your Excellency. Then, we'll be on our way first," the group leader stated before leaving with his group members.
He definitely didn't want someone like Albion as his daddy.
Such a murderous True Immortal… Who knows if he murders his sons on a whim or not? He certainly doesn't want to live under such fear every day.
After the grass-collecting group left ahead of him, Albion showed his temporary pass to the guards before entering the city not long after.
The bustling city hidden behind the tall city walls was immediately revealed to him, packed full of nether spirits walking about, dining in restaurants, and browsing wares in various stores.
Spiritual tools could be seen everywhere.
At the same time, Albion also noticed that the strength of the average nether spirits in Netherglow City was not weak.
They were all at the Spirit Refinement Realm and above.
'Well then, what should I do first?' Albion silently thought with a smile.
