I Am A Legendary BOSS

Chapter 346 The King’s Curse

Chapter 346 The King’s Curse

William and his companions withdrew from the church.

At this instant, a figure flashed by, and Changli Jiuge was swept away.

When William and his companions ran toward him, he turned into a white ray of light and screamed.

He was dead.

The soul of Changli Jiuge saw William and his companions approaching. He quickly revived at the spot and said in a frightened tone, “The monster is fast and fierce. He pierced my chest with his claws. I had already died before I had the chance to see him.”

William and Lancelot glanced at each other, saying in unison, “Night Demon.”

Lautner explained, “Be careful, the Night Demons are very fast. In the dark, their damage and defense ratings are extremely high. They like to feed on the hearts. Do not wander off from the group.”

“They like to feed on the hearts? No wonder the Night Demon pounced on my chest. Can he feed on white light?” Changli Jiuge frowned. A dead player would not leave behind a corpse. His limbs and body parts would disintegrate into white light.

The attack just now had felt like experiencing a horror movie in person. Changli Jiuge was so terrified that he had almost urinated. He felt for his crotch.

Why were his pants wet?

Changli Jiuge pondered and was enlightened.

He did not quit the game to clean up his gaming pod.

Instead, he let the warm and wet feeling spread to his legs...

He had to pretend that nothing happened.

It was not time to go offline. Prince William might not be waiting for him to clean up the gaming pod...

William and his companions did not know that Changli Jiuge had urinated out of fear. They kept their vigilance to fend off the Night Demons’ attacks.

The Night Demons were not intelligent. They were monsters who hid in the deepest part of the Dark World.

They possessed remarkable hunting skills and were much stronger than ordinary devils.

When William had been a part-time demon hunter, he had been killed by Night Demons many times.

Night Demons were magical beasts more powerful than Epic and Legendary demon-hunting BOSSES.

Lancelot suddenly asked, “Where are we going next? Are we waiting for the witch to resurrect?”

William deeply pondered and shook his head. “No, we have to eliminate as many believers of the witch as possible. This will increase our odds of survival after the witch’s resurrection. Do you know where the believers are hiding?”

“I know their whereabouts, but we haven’t made our moves yet.” Lancelot nodded. He thought for a while before bringing everyone to the believers’ hideout.

The players found Changli Jiuge a bit abnormal.

He acted like a dog that shook his leg while walking as if trying to shake off something stuck on its leg.

Fortunately, the situation was precarious. The players had a sense of urgency, so they did not pay too much attention to him.

Fatty was doing a live broadcast.

Some viewers who had gone through the same experience commented, “Gosh! this is scary...”

“Yes, He was so scared that he peed. He didn’t want to go offline, so he showed strange behavior.”

“Gosh, it must be very scary.”

Many repetitive comments appeared in the live broadcast room.

Fatty held back his laugh. He did not want Changli Jiuge to beat him, so he quickly patted Changli Jiuge on the shoulder and covered his nose. “Gosh! You’ve stepped on feces. It stinks, and you have stained my pants.”

“D*mn...” Chang Li Jiuge was about to curse when he noticed Fatty’s gaze. So he said with a sad face, “I didn’t step on the feces, but I’ve encountered a pile of disgusting and rotten meatballs.”

Changli Jiuge secretly accessed the forum and checked out the comments in Fatty’s live broadcast room. He was relieved when he noticed someone defending him.

Anyway, he was also a professional player.

He would be a laughing stock if people knew that he peed in fear.

The capital city of Kerenza was engulfed in a dark mist. Every household on the street had tightly closed their doors.

The city guards no longer patrolled at night. Instead, they were garrisoned as a legion to protect the residences of the nobles and officials.

What about the palace?

Fifty thousand elite soldiers stood guard over there.

The city had 130,000 troops stationed in it. After the city had descended into an alternate dimension, the king had deployed reinforcements from other regions to the city.

But the scope of the city was too large. These 130,000 soldiers were not enough, and it was impossible to have guards everywhere.

The King of Kerenza was too timid, so he had deployed many professionals and legions with combat capabilities in the palace to protect himself.

The cowardly king disregarded the safety of his people. He was worried about his safety, so he offered all his treasures to seek help.

Well, the current situation was simple.

William could not seek the assistance of the Kerenza legions.

They had to protect at night the government officials, nobles, and members of the royal family.

They could only come out during the day to kill the dark creatures.

Whether the city could be saved or not, depended on the demon hunters who had received the mission.

Lancelot brought William and his companions to a three-story building.

“Kerenza’s largest tavern, and one of the gathering places of the dark witch believers.”

Just as he spoke, the tavern door creaked open.

A bright light penetrated the mist and illuminated the crowd.

William noticed a lot of professionals inside, drinking, chatting, and eating meat.

While William and his companions hesitated, everyone inside turned around and looked at them with blood-stained eyes.

The players gulped. They felt they were being stared at by countless monsters.

A pending conflict did not erupt. A young bartender came to the door and respectfully bowed to invite them.

William knitted his eyebrows and stepped forward. “Let’s enter.”

A group of more than twenty professionals quickly walked in. William ignored the Blood Moon believers who were drinking and eating meat. He just knocked on the table and called, “Waiter.”

“I’m coming! What drinks would all of you strong professionals like to have?” A charming woman in a translucent dress came forward.

Her eyes were blood red, and she did not mind the presence of William and his companions.

William glanced at the wine bottles she had brought. They were filled with pungent blood. The believers in the tavern were not drinking wine; it was the commoners’ blood.

Lancelot and his Temple Knights resisted the impulse to attack. Lancelot wanted to see what tricks they had up their sleeves.

William stretched his hand and held the lady boss’ chin. “Where’s your master?”

“Master hasn’t been resurrected. But if such a handsome man like you wants to get to know my master, you may stay with her forever after the city descends into Darkness.” The charming lady boss blinked and attempted to grab William’s hand, but the prince retracted his arm.

William sneered and said, “What’s wrong? Your master had been killed by me before, so she doesn’t dare to show up. Are you Blood Moon believers?”

“How dare you!” The lady boss yelled, and the professionals around her stood up, unsheathing their weapons.

“What are you doing? Keep drinking your blood.” A voice suddenly appeared.

Everyone looked up to see a handsome man clad in a black dress slowly walking down from the second floor.

This man, who was engulfed with a sense of evil, made everyone uncomfortable.

He was the Viscount of Darkness.

He had appeared in his true body as if he were in the Kingdom of Light.

Lancelot was shocked. He remembered the man in black. So, he could not help glancing at William, who had defeated the Viscount of Darkness and given him a serious setback.

William also narrowed his eyes. Sure enough, the Viscount of Darkness was no longer an Epic but a Grandmaster professional.

William’s use of the prohibited magic had caused the Viscount of Darkness a serious setback.

However, the Viscount of Darkness had been close to achieving a breakthrough to the next level.

“Dear Lancelot, I came here specifically for you. Did you miss me?” The Viscount of Darkness said, ignoring the surprised looks of the crowd.

Lancelot grasped the longsword in his hand. If William were not here, he would have attacked.

The Viscount of Darkness glanced at William again with a disgusted expression. “Why are you such a busybody? This is my game with Lancelot. Why are you involved?”

“I had come to the city for a tour. But, I smelled your stench the moment I arrived at this forsaken place. I immediately knew you were the one responsible for what had happened to the city.” William looked at his left hand as though he was appreciating a treasure.

The prince continued. “I heard you intend to play a game with Lancelot. What do you want to play?”

“Oh?” The Viscount of Darkness raised his eyebrows. He was wary of William’s Left Hand of the Thunder God and the powerful Thunder Realm.

He knew that William would not use the prohibited magic unless it was dire.

If William activated Thunder Realm, even if his body could brace the attack, he would be grievously wounded.

But he again raised his eyebrows and said with a smile, “Since you are interested in this game, I’ll give you some choices.

“The resurrection of the Blood Moon Dark Witch will cause this city to descend into the Dark World.

“Kill her and save this city.

“Or kill the King of Kerenza and save this city.”

William noticed that the Viscount of Darkness was looking at Lancelot and about to speak. William interjected and said, “We’ll kill the King of Kerenza.

“I have been enduring this idiot for a long time. He did not deploy the legions to help. Instead, he got a group of demon hunters to sacrifice for him. He even asked a mercenary like me to help. This pig isn’t fit to be a king.”

The Viscount of Darkness was surprised!

He was astonished.

But the rest of the people were bewildered. How could you trust the Viscount of Darkness? Moreover, William had been employed by the Human king. If he was to die, how could William claim his reward?

Was it not better to kill the Blood Moon Dark Witch?

Could William be suffering from a mental defect?

This was originally a game played by the Viscount of Darkness and Lancelot.

Because William knew that Lancelot was kind-hearted. Even if the King of Kerenza was an idiot, Lancelot would not kill him.

After some time, Lancelot would realize that he could not kill the dark witch, so he would have to decide whether to kill the king and save the city...

It was the same tricky situation where the mother and girlfriend fell into the water at the same time.

That was what the Viscount of Darkness wanted.

He loved to see Lancelot in a difficult situation...

If Lancelot were to kill the king, the city would still fall!

But when William said he wanted to kill the despised Human king...

The Viscount of Darkness lost interest in the game.

He deeply gazed at William and shook his head. “No, I’m going to change the game. I’ll kill the King of Kerenza, and you’ll kill the dark witch. Whoever completes his mission first wins.

“If I win, the entire city will descend into Darkness.”

“You’re such a bore for changing the rules.” William furrowed his brows.

“Do you agree?” The Viscount of Darkness was getting impatient.

“It’s settled. Let’s go.” William patted the table and turned to leave.

Everyone was still in a state of bewilderment.

They were supposed to kill the dark witch, but now the King of Kerenza had to die.

What kind of logic was that?

But after William left, he spoke from a distance, “If the King of Kerenza doesn’t die, the Blood Moon Dark Witch won’t die. Both of them have to die at the same time.

“The first game of the Viscount of Darkness is a joke. He had no intention to let us win.

“No matter what happens, this city will descend into Darkness.”

Lancelot and Lautner said in unison, “The King’s Curse?”

William nodded and said, “Yes, it is the King’s Curse. After understanding it, the identity of the Blood Moon Dark Witch should be obvious.

“She was the princess of the royal family hundreds of years ago!

“Aligned with Dark attributes, she was particularly good at black magic since childhood.

“But hundreds of years ago, professionals who were good at black witchcraft, especially women, were being hunted down.

“Even the princess was imprisoned in a dark basement and was not allowed any visitors.

“In her boundless despair, she attracted the attention of a Legendary devil who afflicted her with a curse.

“Since then, she possessed an undead body and powerful capabilities.

“But the curse was the King’s Curse.

“As long as a reigning king remained in the Kerenza Kingdom, she would never die, nor would she lose her power’.

“We can only save the city from descending into Darkness after the current king is dead and before the next king’s ascension.”

Everyone was astonished by the series of explanations. Burned Cinder could not help but ask, “Didn’t the Viscount of Darkness know this?”

William pouted and replied, “He knew nothing. He willfully intervened in the scheme of a Legendary Devil Lord. Even if he is the Viscount of Darkness, the Legendary Devil Lord would not tell him the truth.

“If we follow the Viscount of Darkness’ instructions, no matter what we do, he would destroy the entire city.

“His game is to watch us in the struggle to survive. He’s deceiving us and robbing the Legendary Devil Lord of his credit.

“So he wouldn’t know about the truth.”

“What are we supposed to do?” Lancelot asked.

“You’ll go to the palace to prevent the king from prematurely dying and stop a new king from ascending the throne. We’ll kill the Blood Moon Dark Witch.” William said to Lancelot.

After surveying everybody, William said, “Prepare for an epic battle...”
