Human King

Chapter 68: Count (End)

Chapter 68: Count (End)

Dawn opened his eyes with a bit of a heavy feeling because of what just happened.

He took a long sleep of at least a full day. His subordinates guarded him day in and night out.

He knew all kinds of information just by opening his eyes.

It was as if...he was in a different, higher level than before.

And when he whipped his head in front, his eyes could see the tiniest rock on the ground.

His ears could pick the tiny whispers of the goblins around him, and he could feel the ground vibrate even if the source was almost a kilometer away from him.

When he moved his arms, he could feel a strength that didn't exists before.

And when he examined himself, he knew what it was all about.

"Blessings, huh." Dawn murmured. His attention was focused on the whole new world that his senses were perceiving for him.

Indeed, just from his senses, he could feel that he was a different goblin altogether.

Just what could he do now in an actual battle?

Remembering the intense fight he just had, Dawn couldn't help but get excited about the future.

If possible, he wanted to go and conquer the south right now!

However, his rosy imaginings of such a future were disturbed when he saw Karkas walking fast towards him.

Well, he didn't actually see Karkas. He just knew Karkas was running towards him.

Dawn couldn't explain how he knew, but it probably was connected to his enhanced senses.

"King! You're awake!" Karkas immediately kneeled on the ground after seeing Dawn raise his head a little bit.

Because Dawn was immersed in the improvements his senses has undergone, he didn't pay any attention to his body.

That was why when he saw his own body, he was shocked beyond belief.

"L-light?" Dawn murmured when he saw his arm.

He looked over his whole body, and he couldn't grasp it at all.

He used to be a light-green skinned goblin, but now it was as if white was painted all over his body.

No...it wasn't that bad. He still had the shade of green, but it wasn't that visible even to his enhanced eyes.

"White, huh. Hmmm." Dawn nodded his head.

He already had suspicions about this as his skin color always got lighter whenever he evolved.

Still, he never expected to be white.

"Blessings of the Battlefield!" Dawn shouted out.

[Race: Goblin]

[Rank: Great Count]

[Position: Leader of numerous chiefs]

[Titles: The Fake King of the Goblins, The Third Invincible Sin, Weakest]

[Divine Protection: None]

[Latest Achievement: Conquering the Four Big Villages in a single night]

[Blessings received: The rank of Count and the lowest of the highest tier, Great]

Dawn furrowed his brows after reading what the Blessings of the Battlefield showed him.

---Third Invincible Sin? Weakest?

This was the first time that he saw these titles. What's more, the title was familiar to him.

The Three Invincible Sins was something the Blessings of the Battlefield mentioned before.

To be precise, it was the sender of the message who told him about it.

And judging from what the message said before, Dawn was sure that he was part of this Three Invincible Sin.

However, the Weakest title was something he didn't expect.

This came from out of nowhere, and it attached to him as if it were natural.

However, Dawn didn't mind it. In fact, he welcomed the title Weakest.

Why? It's because...

---There's a stronger guy than me!

"Kuhahahaha!" Dawn laughed after realizing this fact.

If he was the Weakest, then there must be the Strongest.

Dawn just needs to take the title, Strongest, from that guy and enjoy the fight with him.

Nevertheless, the guy who dared to make him look like the Weakest won't survive.

Of course, Dawn didn't forget the second strangest thing about the blessings he received.

---Highest tier...

It was about the Great that he received from the Blessings of the Battlefield.

It seems that there was heaven beyond heaven.

And when Dawn finished tidying up these facts, Dawn whipped his head towards the kneeling Karkas.

He knew how much he was worried and the other blessed goblins who kept looking at his way.

Even without seeing them with his eyes, Dawn just knew it.

He then stood up as if it were the most normal thing to do after staring at the blank air.

"What happened, Karkas?" Dawn asked Karas, who was kneeling.

"Are you done, my king?"

"Yeah."

"You received the Blessings of the Battlefield, and while you were down, the remaining enemies tried to attack you. The matter has been dealt with, but..."

"But?"

Seeing Karkas hesitate was quite a new sight for Dawn.

Ever since the battle with Womo's village, Karkas changed in a significant way.

And that change was good, if not the best, in Dawn's eyes.

"We need the king to make a decision where we will stay. We are still where you fought the enemy last night."

"We'll go to the village nearest to the south. That means, over there."

"Yes, my king. I'll immediately prepare for it."

Karkas then went on his way to assemble the goblins. He already had a plan on how to go to every village.

After all, Dawn would choose from those empty villages, and Karkas wanted to lessen the time Dawn would need to rest in his new home.

However, Karkas was forced to stop by a sound he didn't recognize.

Grrrr.

The sound was so intense that everyone on Dawn's immediate premises could hear it.

When Karkas looked back, he saw Dawn rubbing his belly as he made his way to Karkas.

"Karkas, I'll have you do something." Dawn said with a solemn voice.

His serious eyes were staring straight at Karkas, giving immense pressure to his retainer.

Gulp.

Karkas never saw Dawn this serious before. Was it because of his new form?

His awe-striking fangs made Dawn look like he was going to eat Karkas any moment now.

However, that didn't matter to Karkas as Dawn continued to speak.

"Gather some food for me."

Grrr!

A growling sound was heard from Dawn's stomach. It was so intense that it was fiercer than Dawn's roar last night.

When Karkas looked at that, he immediately bowed and said.

"I-I understand!"

Karkas then went on his way to find some food for Dawn, who was extremely hungry.

'I-I didn't prepare for it...' Karkas thought meekly as he imagined failing his duties...

Of course, it was only a matter of time that food was delivered to Dawn's mouth.

He ate it happily, and after an hour of eating, the goblins walked towards their new, temporary home.

****

---Hmm. This...is better!

Dawn thought as he looked at himself through a mirror known as the water.

When they were marching, the goblins found a lake.

They didn't walk or march fast because they didn't have any battles, so they took their time walking.

Because of that, they were able to find many different things here.

But, the most important thing is that weaker monsters aren't common here.

Most are evolved monsters that boast strength greater than ever.

It was alarming, considering that the monster population was increasing, but that doesn't matter to Dawn right now.

He was extremely pleased by how his body changed after receiving the blessings.

"Look at those horns!" Dawn said as he touched the three horns growing at the back of his head.

It was so sharp that Dawn could cut himself with it.

The tallest of the three is the first one that emerged before; the center horn.

The two seem to bring out the beauty in that third horn as they didn't attract more attention, but they were still something else for Dawn.

In Dawn's life, he never saw any goblin that has a form like his.

He was so fascinated by this fact that at some point, he wanted to prove it by looking at every goblin living in the forest.

"My eyes too..."

His blackish eyes were turning completely black. There were no traces of any whites in his eyes now.

But, Dawn noticed that every time he used Aura, that darkness in his eyes would create a line of black light every time he moved.

It was as if he was creating an afterimage with his black eyes!

There were more minor changes to his body, such as his body growing, his fangs getting sharper, his muscles getting bulkier.

However, what was so obvious was the black sun on his stomach.

No...was it because his skin turned white that it looked obvious now?

The black sun, because of his white skin, made that part conspicuous.

Just by standing, Dawn's black eyes, horns, and the black sun on his stomach could be seen.

"I wonder if that will happen again..." Dawn said as he remembered the event where the black sun or the tattoos were all over his body.

Imagining how his white body, combined with the black marks, would scare his enemies, made Dawn shudder in excitement.

"Kuhahaha!"

Finally, a laugh escaped from his mouth as he imagined fighting strong opponents in the future.
