Chapter 39 Royal Attendees
During her grandfather's reign, Elizabeth was third in the line of succession to the British throne, behind her uncle Edward and her father. Although her birth generated public interest, she was not expected to become queen, as Edward was still young and likely to marry and have children of his own, who would precede Elizabeth in the line of succession.
As Margeret decided to marry into the Rothchild family, her succession rights were voided, but there was never bad blood between them. Contrary to public opinion, they were very close to each other and often met for tea parties at Buckingham Palace.
A few weeks ago, Queen received the formal request from her sister to lease the palace for an important occasion which she clearly know about, as Margaret had told her the details regarding the boy. She was surprised to hear the details, and wanted to meet the famous author who took London by storm. She also read through the fable book and was very impressed by him.
As Margaret holds considerable power, the request was granted. The other faction suppressed those who wished to protest at first. Queen also received the invitation for the party along with all the royal members. She also received the list of people who would attend the party, which was filled with heavyweights of all fields. It all required maximum security measures and he ordered Casper, her attendant, to arrange a meeting of all head personals. Media was a big concern for her; in the past, newspapers would throw shades and leak the royal's personal life, which often became big stories and fueled the fire for public scrutiny.
One of the prominent incidents was when 'The Sun; actively went out of their way to publish fake spicy stories about british royals. They would constantly berate and undermine Queen's reforms which ignited people's resentment. Margaret upon seeing the unreasonable action directly purchased the newspaper. She although not as close to the family, still cared about her roots. She fired all the relevant personals who only cared about profits made with other people's suffering.
It sent a message to all media publications and a firm warning for those who want to hurt the family's reputation. With Rothchild family in the mix deterred all further provocations.
She had to avoid such incidents from happening again. For the next few weeks, she organized everything with other people's help and placed her intelligence agency to vet for possible dangers. There will be prominent people from other countries and if anything bad happens, it will lead to diplomatic troubles. Margaret also visited her and placed several Rothchild personals and David to correspond with royal agencies to smooth out the process. It was finally the promised date and everything was in place.
Queen was reminising about the past and waiting in the gallery, waiting for her family with her husband, Philip.
"Eliza, it would be okay. I have checked the situation and it looks pretty good. I believe, there will not be a probleml; so just relax." Philip said.
" Hmm. I understand. I will trust your judgement. Charles and Andrew will attend but other two were busy. I believe Zara and Andrew's childrens will also be present." Queen said.
" Well, they will be here soon. It's not a official summon and we could not force them out of their work. they could meet the boy in the future. " Philip said.
They had four children, one girl, and three boys. Two of them would accompany them to the venue, and they were waiting for them in the reception area.
Soon everyone arrived with their entourage and greeted the old couple.
" Mother, father good evening." Charles and Andrew said one after another.
" Good evening your majesty " Lily and Florence said. They were the wives of Charles and Andrew, respectively.
" Good evening, I see that everyone is present here. " queen said.
" Grandma, what is the occasion? I was busy with my lessons, you know I have been practicing for the upcoming horse-back competition. " Zara said begrudgingly.
" What? You will forget your grandmother for the competition? Did you forget all the time you would follow me around when you were cute little girl? " Queen said, teasing her granddaughter.
Having lost the conversation, Zara stayed silent and stared at the Queen, which in turn made the Queen smile more and more. She loved to tease Zara because of how easy it was to do so.
" Zara, please behave during the party. Sister Anne entrusted me to look after you; you could also meet prominent figures and heirs of Rothchild family to gain some influence. I know you want to be an equestrian but personal connections are important too. " Charles oldest of the siblings, reminded his niece.
" Grandma, the picture book you gave us was amazing. I will be a good girl; will you read it to us again? " Beatrice, the oldest of Queen's third child, said.
Beatrice's younger sister, Eugenie also looked at the queen with expectant eyes. They loved their grandmother's bedtime stories and always pestered her father, Andrew and mother, Florence to call for her. Queen said with a relaxed smile--
" Yes, if it a request from my cute bunnies, I will do it without question. " They were her youngest grandchildren and she paid extra attention to them.
" But first we should go and attend the party. Always stay with your parents and if you need anything just inform Uncle Casper. " The queen said, and nodded to Casper.
Both of them nodded and moved and held their grandma's hand. They all made their way to the car and rushed to the venue.
---------------------------------
The party gained the attention of all the people from the upper echelons. British royals, politicians and businessmen were all invited.
Rothchild's influence was very vast. People from Imperial family of Japan who were visiting the UK were also on the list.
Morgan who was said to be at odds with Rothchild family, will also be attending. All in all, if the content of the list were leaked it would have caused sensation around the whole globe, but there was always a veil of secrecy around it. No one who was invited wanted to offend the giants for meager gains.
It was six o'clock and participants were starting to gather.
