Chapter 20 Writing Hobbit

I woke up the next morning, refreshed myself, and went downstairs with Oscar. Oscar was with me these days and I would ask about varying things about the estate. He practically grew up here, and when I wanted to meet Grand-Uncle Donald to discuss book writing, he told me Uncle would usually stay up late at night, so his schedule was obscure.

So, I went for a walk in the back garden; I was still new to seeing so, I would find time to sit in the garden to see different birds, bees wandering from flower to flower and other natural things. It helped to relax.

After I had my meal and waited a few hours in the library researching book- writing and understanding different styles of books to polish my title. I was looking through a few children's books when I saw my uncle coming in with Grandpa Arthur who was caring breakfast with him.

Everyone already ate, so it became his routine to eat breakfast in the library; either way he would be eating alone, regardless on the dinner table or here inside the library.

He saw me waiting and said with a surprised look, " Good morning. I know sami you love to read but its it took early to be here? you usually accompany me in evenings."

" Uncle Donald, Good Morning. I was passing time here waiting for you. I have decided to write a book, can you give me some direction?"

" Well, thats a surprise, It's a good thing you can write simple stories to help improve your knowledge. I heard you will be attending school starting next year." He paused and said --

"but writing a proper book is not easy. Writing takes years and years to perfect, It will take you many years before you can write something that is worth publishing. You are smart so few years less in your case." He stopped.

I have to convince him somehow. I better show him that I am not doing this for fun.

" I know uncle, I want to write a children's book. I already have an idea about the book. But you have to promise me, you will surely read it from a fair perspective and help me publish it if it's good. If it's bad, you have to say it. So I can try it again later. "

Seeing me all serious, he also became serious. I have successfully awoken his inner scholar.

He said, " The children's book, you say, interesting... I promise Samuel. I know a thing a two about books. I will help you if you can impress me. If it is good, I will publish it through the company I own, don't worry, premise is IF you can, hahaha ". He was amused, but kept his word.

We spent a few days in the library except for eating, and sleeping; I spent all the time here. The whole family was worried, but seeing my determination and uncle Donald's help temporarily quenched their worries.

After the whole week, I had a clear idea of what to write, but a sudden call interrupted my plans. I forgot I promised to visit Hannah. She must be waiting these days, to finally decide to contact me.

I told them, I will visit their restaurant tomorrow morning and spend the whole day there. Mother approved, which was surprising, as she would always stop me from going outside unless it was extremely important.

The next morning I took Oscar with me. I told my parents that they could not forget their work and followed me every time I went outside. Mother tried to pull her worry-face card, but this time I stood tall. They begrudgingly agreed, but still sent out a platoon of guards to follow me. I kindly agreed, it didn't matter much; they were invisible to me and always protected me from shadows.

I took the car with Oscar and went to the diner "Little Red clock".

------------------------------------

We finally decided to open the diner again, its been a week since the funeral and I felt like we had to start the business or we might start to lose customers.

Samuel was coming to visit today; I have to instruct every staff member to be on their best behavior, clean the whole restaurant. It's been days since any work had been done here, many places have started to form dust layers.

I called Samuel yesterday because Hannah was feeling pretty lonely; she was always asking for him. He apologized profusely and said he was busy with something. I didn't mind much.

That day when he held me and told me his feelings and consoled me was still fresh in my mind. The seriousness in his eyes made me think of Elise. He was just like her and it almost seemed like fate from the time we overheard the doctor to the whole donation process. It just felt right thing to do and he respected us for that which made me happy. Though I lost my daughter, all hope is not lost. I gain something back.

---------------------------------------

I visited the diner and had a light breakfast. Hannah was very pleased and was beaming in the face. I spent the whole day with family, toured the whole restaurant with Hannah tightly holding my hand.

I had to console her that I would keep in touch, and that I would not neglect her unnecessarily. Aunt Carol was also very happy and explained the diner function with a gutso. Uncle Aaron could only smile at the warm scene in front of him. He also misses Elise, but seeing the warm atmosphere brightened up his mood a few levels.

I explained to them about my book; they were very surprised but supported my fully. Hannah was also excited when I told her that the book would be a children's book with fantasy characters.

She was also a regular girl who loved princes and princesses. I promised to give her the first copy of the book if it ever gets published.

After a tiring day, I started to make my way home. Both Aunt Carol and Hannah hugged and thanked for the visit. I promised them I will visit again but I will be busy with books for a few weeks.

I parted ways and finally got into the car to go home. Along the way I started to formulate my plans for the next few weeks.
