Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 66 Moonlight Arrow

"So that's the great animagi form everyone keeps talking about. Hmm, it's not that impressive. Feels like half transformation from one side and half from other." Hark was standing on top of his mansion while seeing the griffin flying towards the mansion.

In front of the griffin, the young duke could see a brown feathered eagle trying to prevent itself from being eaten.

Only beasts with names were referred with he/she pronouns and since Hark didn't know what the eagle's name was, he would refer to it as it.

'Someone is riding the eagle.' The duke narrowed his ocean blue eyes while staring at the tiny figure visible on the eagle's back.

For some reason, the duke felt as though he knew the person yet he had never seen that face before that day.

'Switch with me for a second. I will use that skill.'

'As you say.' The duke then closed his eyes as the calm aura surrounding his body vanished. "Switch."

A few seconds later, Hark opened his eyes with a smile as he cracked his neck a little before looking at the figure on top of the eagle.

"Soul connect."

***

[ The unique skill: 'Soul connect' has been used. ]

[ Skill cannot be countered. The user has identified to have met the player a few days back. ]

Zack's eyes widened his shock when he read the system screen in front of him.

Soul connect, a skill that was one of the most unknown skills in the entire game and manifested in different forms in different people.

All four dukes of the kingdom and Jonathan himself had this skill.

'And it was just my luck that Hark had the skill in this form. Now he can identify me whenever he wants.' The teenager stared at the top of the duke's mansion with a sigh.

He could already feel Hark's gaze on him and was sure that he was not going to get any assistance from him.

It would be a miracle if the duke didn't shoot him and Daedalus in the sky at that exact moment.

'Slow down a little and move towards Emma.' Zack suddenly ordered the eagle as he looked back with a worried expression.

Ever since Daedalus had taken a steep dive, the griffin had vanished from the sky.

Zack was not scared of jump scares but it was not every day that you will get a griffin jumping down your throat.

'If that was an animagi, then there's a very good chance that he is now a human again.' The brown feathered eagle swooped down and started flying towards Emma.

Emma was already ready with her move and all that was left was to go ahead and bring the animagi to her.

And judging from Alek's actions, he was moving towards her.

Zack had carefully planned this since the moment he had called Alek out to be a general. He had already known that the head of the griffin house would try to kill him and Emma using the barrier.

But in case that plan failed, he would turn into a griffin and snatch both of them.

And that's where the cat and mouse chase and come into play. Zack had managed to give Emma enough time to charge her super move so that the moment Alek would appear near her, she would shoot him down.

'Hopefully, not- Damn, I had almost raised a flag.' The teenager sighed as he asked Daedalus to soar near the ground.

He then jumped down the eagle's back and landed in front of the Griffin mansion. Emma was standing at the entrance with a bored expression.

"Where is that big bird?" She asked in an annoyed tone the moment she saw Zack.

"He transformed back into a human and is most probably making his way here or leaving this place. We should-

"Get our necks washed for the beheading that will take place." A voice interrupted him as a fireball suddenly came flying towards him.

Zack didn't even hesitate and used the water gun skill to counter the fireball.

Both attacks collided and vanished, resulting in steam being generated. A few seconds later, Hark was standing in the middle of the steam.

Zack was then about to say something when he felt that something was wrong.

'How the fck is he able to see…' Since he was being chased earlier, Zack had almost forgotten that the Phoenix had blinded the duke.

Yet, he was standing in front of him and seeing everything clearly.

"Looks like you made Alek leave the place which is a pretty good job. But I have got a reputation to hold. And even if you have that legendary spear, I will not show mercy." The duke grinned as he raised both of his hands in the duo's direction.

[ Emma, launch your attack on him. ]

Emma didn't even hesitate as she summoned her bow and pointed it towards the man.

Regardless of what Zack would have said, Emma was ready to hit the duke since she could sense that there was something wrong with him.

"Moonlight arrow." A golden-colored arrow appeared in her hands as she notched it and released it towards Hark.

The duke raised his eyebrow as he raised his right hand as though he was about to sweat the arrow aside.

But the moment his hand touched the golden arrow, two eagles dived from the sky and pushed Zack and Emma on top of them before flying away.

The duke on the other hand stood still in his place as he looked at the duo flying away. This was because of a certain thing.

[ Moonlight Arrow: An arrow that cannot be stopped until it hits the opponent. Will inflict, paralysis, poison, dehydration, and starvation for an hour. Situations cannot be reversed unless using a divine grade blessing.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooldown time: One week ]

That was the skill that Emma had used on the duke and even if he had dodged it, the arrow would not stop moving until it had hit Hark.

"She is a strong person and so is that kid. Maybe I should test them once or twice." The duke muttered as he moved his shoulders a little before moving from his place.

The head of the griffin house had already fled the place and the duke's men had seen him go away. Hark was going to catch them later on but before that, he was going to get inside the mansion and search for the remaining members.

'Don't you think that they would have already fled the moment they realized that their head had abandoned them?'

'No, you are wrong Hark. Alek trying to buy them time so that they could cover up all the traces and leave. At least that's what I would have done in his position.'

'Then we should be able to find something. Nice job Ray.'

The duke walked past the entrance as the burning smell of lightning suddenly reappeared. Hark raised an eyebrow in surprise as a lightning bolt hit his body.

But it didn't even leave a scratch on his body.

"So it is indeed a regenerative barrier. I should use this place as something else soon." He muttered before going inside the mansion.
