Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

Chapter 4 The Temple Of The Goddess Of Light

After his avatar creation was done, Zack was suddenly teleported to a new place. He took a deep breath before looking at the structure in front of him.

[ The temple of the goddess of light ]

That was the name that hung over the structure. If Zack had chosen the dark side, he would be standing in front of the 'cult of the dark lord'.

As for the neutral side, they were randomly teleported in the wild for not being loyal to any side. So choosing either of the first two options gave a boost to the beginners.

"Inventory."

The inventory screen popped open in front of Zack. The inventory had twenty-five icons out of which, five were occupied.

The first four contained a basic stone sword, a normal chest plate, combat boots, and a small staff. These were the basic items given to a mage.

Most people would immediately choose the staff but the smarter ones knew that the sword was there for a reason.

And the reason was that it was there for no reason.

The game developers had done a real number on these 'smart people.'

"Status."

[ Name: Lin Fan

Main Class: Mage

Subclass: None

Stats:

HP: 10 / 10

INT: 10 AGI: 3

STR: 3 DEX: 7

VIT: 2

Current Status: Healthy ]

Those were pitiful stats but that was what every mage was assigned with. But now that he had seen the basic items, Zack entered the temple.

The temple of the goddess of the light was made from pure gold with the top of it being made from a rare blue-colored metal known as vibranium.

The metal was used because the goddess of light was also called the supreme deity who was in charge of heaven inside the game.

The developers had spent 20 years developing every little aspect of the game ranging from the details on a tree to the back story of NPCs to myths.

Everything inside the game had been carefully crafted and everything had a meaning.

The temple was such a place. Zack could see that many of the other players had also started appearing at the entrance of the temple.

But he didn't worry about it since he would be the first to reach the destination. After one chose the light side, they would have to find a priest in the temple.

The priest would give the new players a few skills depending on their job classes. He would also ask them about the place they wanted to start their journey in.

'I am glad that I remember this too. I guess spending hours watching pro gamers streaming Hikari was worth it.' He sighed mentally as he entered the hallway of the temple.

The four companies behind Hikari had tied up with various pro gamers and had asked them to stream the game but only till a certain time.

But the data and information gathered by the streamers was valuable for those at the beginning stages of the game.

But sadly, the data only extended up to two hours of gameplay and Hikari was big enough that it would take a person months to explore the entire thing on foot.

'Aha, found him!' A bald-headed priest was muttering his prayers in front of a 30 feet tall statue of the goddess of light.

Zack walked forward and stood beside the priest. He then joined his hands and closed his eyes and started mumbling prayers to the goddess.

He opened his eyes after muttering a few prayers and saw the priest smiling at him.

"First time coming here?"

"Yes, sir priest."

"Just call me priest Joshua." The priest smiled as he placed one hand on Zack's shoulder.

[ +100 respect amongst the followers of the goddess of light. ]

[ +50 respect amongst the priests of the temple. ]

[ +50 respect from Joshua the priest. ]

"Priest Joshua, I am here to seek guidance by the goddess. I have recently become a mage and want to explore this world while defeating the dangers in it."

"Ahh! A new adventurer I see. Don't worry fellow worshiper, let me help you in your adventures." The priest said as he brought his hand forward and a golden light appeared above them.

Two scrolls and a potion appeared in his hand as Joshua handed them to Zack. The latter took hold of them gave the priest a small smile.

"Thank you for your help priest, Joshua," Zack said with a small bow as the priest chuckled.

"Anyways young man, have you decided where you want to go? I can ask the goddess to teleport you there?" Joshua asked as Zack nodded.

Nobody knew the name of the places at the beginning of the game unless they had looked in the forum like Zack had done. Sadly, it had been too late for him.

"I would like to go to the town of Klonstad in the kingdom of Eizenburgh."

"As you wish young traveler." The priest sounded surprised but he didn't say anything else. He instead joined his hands together before opening them and projecting the palm of his right hand in Zack's direction.

Joshua looked like a monk in such a pose but this might be because the temple of light had a mixture of monks and priests. Then there were those who learned both classes.

"May the light be with you." The priest muttered as Zack vanished.

[ Klonstad ]

[ One of the most laid back and peaceful towns in the kingdom of Eizenburgh. ]

After reading the description, Zack had a small smile on his face.

After the world war three, only four continents remained and they were North America, half of Asia, half of Europe, and half of Africa.

So based on their locations, they had changed their names to the Western continent, the eastern continent, the northern continent, and the southern continent respectively.

This had felt like a cultivation story but Hikari had followed the same naming system except that each continent had a side dominating it but the other side, or factions as they were called, later on, was still present there.

Zack was currently on the eastern continent which was dominated by the light faction and it had four kingdoms.

But Zack knew that the kingdoms except Eizenburgh weren't that important to him. This was because the Eizenburgh kingdom had some of the most useful things that he needed to ensure that he had a good foundation from the beginning.

He then decided to check his spells when a system screen stopped him.

[ Please choose one of the following elements:

Fire

Light

Lightning

Note: the chosen element will be your main element with whom you will have the highest affinity with. ]

It was an easy decision for Zack. He chose the lightning element before the affinity test came in front of his face.

[ To decide the affinity you have with your element, please sit down in a meditation position and try to think about your related element.

Time limit: 1 hour ]

Looking at the time limit, Zack traveled inside the village and started finding a place to stay.

'There it is.'

He found an inn to stay that was offering free seven days of stay for the new players. He immediately went inside one room and sat cross leg on the bed.

'Purple lightning-like my eyes. The power of destruction and the swiftness of it is unimaginable. But once mastered, it could be the deadliest element.' He thought once and felt something inside his avatar's body change.

[ Player Lin Fan has a 90% affinity with the lightning element. This affinity can be increased up to 100%. ]

Jackpot.
