Chapter 26 The Lance That Diverges Time
"Are you nervous Mia?" Zack asked as the two siblings were moving through the halls of the Doogle Health care center located in the Doogle Mansions place.
It had world-class health and also had the machine that would be used to cure Mia's cancer. Since there were only ten of such things in the world, the price was really high.
The machine was made from a rare metal dug from near the mantle of the Earth and that was why it was really hard to find.
"I am quite nervous but you look worse." The black-haired girl commented as she saw her brother's fidgety behavior.
"See you in a bit." He said with a sigh as they reached the room where everything would be happening.
Mia was already in a white gown and after giving her brother a confident smile, she entered the room. The door closed behind her as Zack roamed around and sat down on the chair for people with the patients.
When Evangeline had heard what Zack was going to use some of the money for, she had offered that she would get his sister healed for free. After all, a few million dollars were nothing for a trillion-dollar company like hers.
And Zack would most probably earn all that money very soon so there was no need to worry about this.
But the teenager had kindly refused her offer since he didn't want to have any kind of debt to her. After all, he wanted to get Mia cured with the money he had earned after spending countless hours in the game.
While sitting on the chair, Zack decided to think of his next moves. He could decrease his playing time by a lot and work alongside Mia in order to help her with the new company they would create.
Maybe just two to three hours a day would be enough for him since he knew the most important locations and where the side quests were.
'Life will become much better now.'
Unfortunately, reincarnated people were never meant to live such easy lives.
"Now that you have got your sister cured, it's time for you to hold your end of the deal." A voice that Zack had almost forgotten about resounded in his ears.
He sighed and stood up. He had been thinking about the voice for quite some time and wondering when it would come and ask him to hold his end of the deal.
'So what do you want?' Zack thought mentally in the same way he had thought in the void.
But instead of the voice replying to his question, the space in front of him started to distort a little. But when he looked around, he saw that no one was there.
The space continued to distort until a few seconds later, a blue-colored lance appeared in front of him. The black-haired boy froze when he saw the lance as he immediately recognized what it was.
After all, he had spent most of his life with the lance in front of him.
"Gugnir…" The name of the lance appeared inside his mind as he moved forward and touched the lance.
( Check this paragraph comment to see how the lance looks )
The cold back of the lance was comfortable in his palms as he was reminded of the time he had held the lance in Hikari.
But all of a sudden, he was teleported to the same place where he had learned that he was dead and would get to reincarnate in the past.
It was a strange thing how all of that had happened a month ago yet it felt as though it had happened a long time ago.
"This time, we can meet formally." This time, the voice didn't directly talk to him through a telepathic connection but instead, a man appeared in front of him.
The man was wearing casual clothes and shared the same eye color Zack had. His hair were black in color and looked as though he had just woken up from a very long sleep.
Though they had the same eye and hair color, the man looked as though he was an older cousin of Zack which made him question the fact whether all of this was a carefully planned family reunion or not.
"Don't think that. I don't have any family members and I have checked that multiple times. Anyways, nice to meet you. My name is Kai and I am the god of timelines." The man extended his hand forward and Zack stared at it for a few seconds before shaking it.
"Now, let's talk business." The man said with a sigh as he snapped his fingers. But nothing happened. "I wonder when that power will return."
Zack had no idea what this self-acclaimed God of timelines was doing but he could tell that he looked stupid while doing that.
The concept of Gods and religions had been wiped after the third world war and only a minority of the world population believed in them.
The minority was at one percent or perhaps two percent which was extremely low.
Zack wasn't a part of this minority so he naturally hadn't believed in gods. Though if the man in front of him wasn't a God, he had no idea how he was able to manipulate time.
"I am the god of timelines kid, not time. And what you are holding in your hand is the lance that diverges time into timelines," The man pointed at Gugnir. "Or it at least helps me in checking the timelines."
"Then you are someone who luckily got this. Hikipidea said this was Odin's weapons so you stole it?" The black-haired boy asked as Kai froze.
"That man stole it from me and pushed it into the game." He replied in a cold voice as Zack was suddenly interested.
He already knew that the game was something much more sinister since it had a weapon that connected him to a god.
But what he wanted to know was what exactly the game was and what other things he had.
"If you want to know, I can show you." The man suddenly said though his eyes looked cold.
Zack nodded as the god of timelines sighed and grabbed Gugnir.
The two figures suddenly started fading away as they slipped away from the heaven-like place and left it empty.
