Chapter 42 - I Have No Sister!
"I don't have a younger sister." Anya's voice sounded calm and firm when she said it.
Anya's answer was like a death sentence for Natali. The only person who could save her at times like this was Anya. But her pride was too high to beg Anya. She really hated that woman!
Aiden sounded satisfied with Anya's answer. He was happy that Anya remembered his advice not to always be gentle with everyone, especially those who tried to harm her. Now, Anya made absolutely no effort to defend Deny or Natali. He nodded and ordered his guards to take Deny and Natali out of his house, "Take them out from this place."
The guards immediately stepped forward, rushing to carry out orders from Aiden. However, before they could do anything, Natali stood up first.
Natali rose to her feet and stomped the ground angrily. Shame and anger mixed in her heart, causing her to rise to her feet and say arrogantly, "Anya! Look! You can live in a nice house like this because of whom? Your mother's hospital fees are paid off, all because of whom? Who has helped you? You ungrateful woman!" She shouted, pointing at Anya.
Hearing Natali's accusation, Anya couldn't help but feel the anger rising in her heart. It was true that she needed money for her mother's hospital fees. She did ask Natali for help by borrowing money, but that didn't mean she wanted to sell herself for the money. She still had pride!
Natali kept making up a story where Anya asked her to help find a rich man. Now, she claimed that she had helped Anya so that she could live comfortably in this place. Anya instead acted self-conscious and did not thank her at all.
"Natali, do you think I need to thank you?" Anya's eyes filled with anger. If that gaze could kill, maybe she would have torn the woman in front of her.
"Are you still not aware of whose blessing you can live in a nice house like this? Thanks to whom did your mother survive? All because of me!" Natali shouted shamelessly.
Anya couldn't believe what she just heard. Natali defended herself in this way. She claimed to be the one who had helped Anya so that she could have a comfortable life. How absurd was that!?
"When mom is in danger, dad doesn't want to help at all. You said you would lend me money and I trusted you. But what do I get? You drugged me. You spiked my drink. Now, since I met Aiden, you are saying that it is all thanks to you?" Anya's hand trembled as she said that. Never in her life had she felt this angry. At the moment, she could no longer hold back her emotions.
Before she did, Deny had slapped Natali's face hard, "Who told you to stand up? Get on your knees and admit your mistakes. Apologize to your sister!" He shouted.
The slap made Natali fall back on the ground. Previously, her legs felt sore and stiff from kneeling for too long. When her father slapped her, her legs were not strong enough to hold her shaking body.
Aiden just watched it all with a cold gaze. His eyes looked mysterious and unpredictable, "Anya, I remember that your mother only has one daughter. How come you have siblings now?" He asked sarcastically.
Anya's eyes flickered as if she had returned to her senses. She inhaled and exhaled regularly, trying to calm herself, "I don't have a younger sister!" Anya answered once again, repeating her previous statement more firmly.
"Anya Tedjasukmana!" Deny loudly shouted.
The man was furious to see Anya's behavior which made the atmosphere even worse. Instead of helping her father to solve the problem, his daughter made things even more complicated. How insolent!
Deny's screams made Anya's body jolt a little. She immediately hid behind Aiden's body. Her hands held the hem of Aiden's clothes, trembling a bit. She had never heard her father shout at her loudly like this. Her father never cared about her, so he didn't want to waste time scolding her like this back then.
Seeing Anya's fear, Aiden whispered softly, "There's no need to be afraid. I am here!" That sentence alone was enough to make Anya feel calmer. But Anya's hand was still holding the hem of Aiden's shirt as if she could get more calm from there.
Meanwhile, Deny was very furious and did not know where to vent his anger on. He then saw Natali close to him.
It looked like today was not a lucky day for Natali.
Deny kicked Natali's body hard, making her moan in pain, "Apologize to your sister!" He yelled at her, kicking her body repeatedly. Seeing her crazy father, this time Natali was really scared. She crawled quickly towards Anya and begged, "Sister! Help me! Father will really kill me!"
Tears flooded her eyes as she tried to grab Anya. Those tears weren't tears of regret but tears from the fear and pain she felt because of Deny's attitude.
Aiden got in the way as soon as Natali tried to get close to Anya. He called his bodyguards and told him to drag Natali outside.
"Sister! No ... I'm sorry! Help me!" She shouted, weeping and struggling as the guards dragged her outside. However, not a single person came to her rescue.
Seeing Natali being dragged away and forced to leave, Deny panicked. He panicked, not because he was afraid that his daughter might be wrong, but because he was afraid that his efforts to mend the relationship with Aiden would fail, "Aiden, Anya and Natali are my daughters. They both are my daughters. It doesn't matter who you choose…"
Those words were like a knife stabbing Anya's heart. Not only did it just stab, but also twisted the wound, making the gaping wound swamp with blood. Aiden could feel Anya's sadness and it made him even more angry.
A cold and cynical smile crossed his lips, "Anya is not the daughter of the Tedjasukmana family. She is the daughter of Diana Hutama."
Deny's body stiffened when he heard his ex-wife's name come out of Aiden's mouth. He looked at Anya, but his daughter did not argue and defend him.
Deny gritted his teeth and said, "Anya, let's go home with daddy!"
Anya gasped at Deny's sudden request. Her hand took Aiden's hand and held it tightly, "This is my home. My house is where Aiden is…"
Aiden smiled faintly when he heard Anya's words. His gaze softened as he saw Anya who was holding his hand tightly and answered her father firmly.
"Anya Tedjasukmana! What kind of woman are you, living in a man's house? Your mother is still sick. I won't leave you alone unattended!" Deny seemed to have run out of ways to make Aiden forgive him, so now he was trying to separate Anya from Aiden.
As a father, he had the right to bring his daughter home. He would teach his daughter a meaningful lesson so that next time Anya wouldn't oppose him like this. He would beat up his insolent daughter!
Anya felt panicked and terrified when she saw the look in her father's eyes. She knew that her father was furious. She knew that once she returned to her father's house, her father would not treat her well. Plus, there was Mona at her father's house. That woman was just as terrible!
Her body unconsciously trembled in fear and tears began to pool in her eyes. Her grip on Aiden's hand grew tighter. She was really scared. She didn't want to come with her father.
"Aiden…" Anya muttered as she looked at Aiden in panic.
