Chapter 127 - Phenomenal Apostles
The two women stood before us, at the center of the disastrous sight all around.
One appears to be a middle-aged woman, having a fierce look in her eyes and an expression of disgust as she stared at us. The other is a child, barely at the beginning of her youth. However, even with such a small frame, I sense great power welling within her. It seems they are both Apostles.
The debris caused by these women has ruined the lovely garden and lush plants all around us. The ceiling of the room still maintains its destroyed state, making the upper floor visible from below.
How ugly.
A moment of silence filled the room. Shamac was stunned by the sudden appearance of the two beautiful women, Talia still recoiled from the trauma of having to kill her beloved Forest Guardian. Ana still shook furiously in fear, as cold sweat covered her body as she stared at one of the two women in front of her.
"L-L-Lady G-Gratiana…" She stuttered in a shaky tone.
As for me, I'm going to be silent for a little longer to observe this situation and see how it turns out. However, there's only so much I can take. For the first time, time is not on my side. To trigger the special event, I need to act soon.
"Trash, who do you think you're looking at?" The older-looking woman said, glaring at me fiercely.
I'm just going to ignore her…
"Uruuuuuu!!!!" A sound suddenly came from behind the two women.
The Forest Guardian emerged from the rubble which had buried it earlier and roared in fury. It glanced all around it, witnessing the havoc that has been wreaked on the lovely garden he supervised.
A pained expression covered his face, and though it didn't have any sense organs, its makeshift mouth widened as it screeched in rage and pain.
Forest Guardians are usually very docile, and will not attack unless provoked. That's why, even though we entered the Boss Room, it didn't make any effort to assault us. It won't strike without a first move from the other party.
As a result of their grand entry, they have not only provoked the Guardian, they have incurred its great wrath. After all, they have performed the most unforgivable act in the eyes of the Forest Guardian… Devastating the plants!
"Roarghhhhhh!!!!"
The Forest Guardian smashed its large hands on the shattered floor, causing a great vibration to reverberate all around the room. The pressure of its cry caused both Shamac and Talia to cover their ears. Ana didn't even move, she was still trembling in fear.
Immediately, it rushed toward the Apostles, having a wild look on its face, it raced to devastate the enemies of nature. Within a moment, it covered the distance between them and made to smash its fist upon them.
The Apostles looked at the monster as it readied its attack. The older-looking one stared at it without emotion, seeing as it desperately put all its might into an attack to obliterate them for their sin.
The younger one looked scared, having a nervous expression on her face as she gazed upon the gigantic vine monster before her. However, she too didn't move from her position.
The hand of the Guardian descended, creating an insane amount of pressure as it neared them. Everything around the room trembled and shook vehemently. Shamac and Talia had to brace themselves in order not to be swept away by the harsh force.
"…"
"Sofia…" The older women muttered
Immediately, the younger one reacted. She stopped shaking, and her eyes became focused.
"Yes, Lady Gratiana!" She mumbled. Shaped as an orb
A spark of light suddenly appeared, covering the two of them entirely. Like an orb of protection, it served as a barrier, countering the mighty fist of the Guardian, just as it reached them.
">BOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!<"
Immediately, the entire room shattered as a result of the impact. The entire garden was torn apart by the chaotic winds and the walls surrounding us were cracked and devastated behind recognition.
Shamac created a Shadow layer to defend himself and everyone else from the destruction caused by the Forest Guardian, suffering impact due to the sudden blow.
My body can withstand attacks of this proportion, so I merrily stood and witnessed the full might of the Boss Monster.
The only thing holding the room intact and keeping it from falling apart now is the special feature I installed in every Boss Room.
It exists in a separate space, so it will never crumble away even when entirely destroyed. If such a mechanism wasn't put in place, Bosses such as this, and the ones on the higher floors would completely destroy their rooms.
"W-What the hell was that? That's entirely different from anything we've faced so far! How can this even exist as a Boss Monster?!" Shamac whined at the unfairness he was faced with.
The Hydra he fought was nowhere compared to this monstrosity.
"F-Forest Guardian…" Talia sobbed, watching her deity's fit of rage.
"T-There's no way they could've survived that, right? There's just no way!" Shamac yelled, still recovering from the shock himself.
I wonder about that. The smoke cleared, and visibility returned to the room.
Now then, let's see what has become of the Apostles.
The light barrier still stood erect, without a single dent visible on it. Just as I expected, these are different from the ones I have previously faced.
Before the Forest Guardian could react to its shock having seen them completely unscathed by its deadly blow, the Apostles counter attacked.
In less than a moment, without any sign of attacking it, the Boss had its body sliced into shreds, and then entirely engulfed in golden light. Its whole body bathed in the destructive power which rendered him into dust.
Just like that… It died.
"Noooo!!!! Forest Guardian!!!!" Taliban screamed as she witnessed its death.
Yes, it is dead.
The Dungeon can not respawn it, since the beast has been rendered entirely disintegrated, broken down into even the littlest of particles, and has scattered all around. Such a high level of damage is beyond the bounds of its mechanics.
Without any sign of effort, the Apostles made short work of the Forest Guardian
I'll admit it, these two are vastly stronger… The Divine Power they possess is phenomenally higher than the Flora and even Ana's. Especially that older-looking one… She nearly has a tenth of a god's entire stock… Amazing.
However, now is no time for indulging in entertainment. I'm so close to my goal and I can't afford any slip-ups. I'm still more powerful than both of them anyway, so there's no need in dragging this out any further.
May major concerns, however, are my slaves. Shamac still seems okay, but Talia and Ana are both in terrible shape.
Disappointing… However, the whole situation is not entirely hopeless.
In any case, it looks like I can't ignore these two before me. I also need to attend to my urgent matters, and my top slaves are currently traumatized.
What to do…?
