Chapter 68 68. Humiliation
Lucius was finally beginning to understand why the revolutionary army hated these noble children so much.
Most of the noble parents were complete enablers, allowing them to do as they pleased as long as it didn't concern other nobles and since most nobles lived in their own territory where they ruled as kings, this kind of thinking and behaviour would only get worse and worse.
Lucius's previous guess was completely correct as not long after seeing him, Xander and Veronica walked over to him.
Intimidation.
It was an obvious tactic and Xander wasn't even trying to hide it.
But Lucius couldn't lie, it worked.
Seeing countless flickering sparks across Xander's body, Lucius felt his throat go a little dry.
Looking around, Lucius could see Nina with her head buried in her book like an ostrich with its head in the sand.
For her as long as it was out of sight out of mind.
Seeing this sight Lucius's mouth twitched. With how she was giving him all this new information and speaking, Lucius almost thought that she was on his side. But as soon as the going got tough, she went completely ghost!
But Lucius didn't take it to heart, her favourability was still neutral, so there was no chance of Nina being on his side. Besides, with Nina's timid nature, even if the favorability was high up, there was a chance that she would still hide regardless!
And what could she even do? As a complete auxiliary professional, her personal combat power was abysmal.
Lucius was truly on his own this time.
The only person he could rely on was Camilla, and she was outside of the classroom.
Although it didn't look good, Lucius wasn't a kid.
With such a blatant attempt at bullying, he couldn't just sit there and let himself be walked over.
If they saw you as weak, they would only grow more unhinged and dreadful
With only a few steps between them, Xander raised his hand towards him and made a finger gun and pointed as lightning gathered on his finger.
'No way... We're still in the classroom, no way he wouldn't…"
But as he watched Xander he could see the disdainful look in his eyes and instantly realised how wrong he had been
'He's really serious!'
"Bang."
Instantly, goosebumps appeared all over Lucius's body and he didn't care about his appearance and dived out the way.
At the same time, a bolt of lightning shot out, exploding in Lucius's previous location.
Under the control of Xander, the lightning didn't do any damage to the classroom, but Lucius could see that if the lightning attack had landed on him, he would have been seriously injured.
As Lucius recovered, he got up and glared at Xander
"What the fuck are you doing-"
But before Lucius could, a bolt of lightning smashed down in between his legs at a speed that Lucius couldn't hope to dodge, not even in his dreams.
Lucius instantly froze
"You thought you were clever or even capable of dodging my attack? Lucius, I was never really trying. You're just a dancing clown."
His heart went cold as his body froze on the spot, completely unable to move.
Stand up for yourself? Fight back?
What a fucking joke?!
In just a moment, Lucius felt all such thoughts evaporate from his mind
Xander looked over and saw Lucius's stunned and stupefied expression. He felt the frustration of yesterday's defeat leave his chest.
Xander didn't hold back and burst out laughing
Hahaha! You should have seen the way he dived! You would have thought a bomb was about to go off or something.
All around him, Lucius could see the people in the classroom laughing and snickering at him and the humiliation he felt was unbearable
Xander walked up to him patting him on the shoulder as sparks of lightning flashed in his eyes
"Lucius, now do you realise it? Your tricks and schemes, it's all bullshit. In front of me, you're nothing.
You should stay in your lane. Your presence is disgusting.
You couldn't take a finger from me so you should know your place"
Lucius grit his teeth and just clenched his fists
Humiliation.
Lucius could feel his face burning with shame and embarrassment but yet he didn't dare move.
It was pathetic. He was a coward.
He was furious and wanted nothing more than to punch Xander's teeth in but that was all a fantasy.
In his situation what could he do?
Fight?
Fight a man with clear advantage? Fight a man with absolute superiority?
In a way, It was like trying to fight someone with a gun pressed against your head, that was just how deep the gap in firepower was between the two of them right now.
Fighting was utterly stupid.
It was hopeless.
But Xander would never miss the opportunity to rub salt in his wounds
"Now your lady isn't there to protect you, you are truly helpless'
The veins on Lucius's head popped. His angered eyes met Xander's disdainful sneer
'I need to be calm. I should just wait to buy some talents, just wait for my strength to grow'
Lucius knew what he had to do, it was cowardice but it was what was needed.
If he were to stand his ground the only outcome was his tragic and utter defeat and Lucius knew that but…
"Bang!"
Before Lucius could realise what was happening his fist was already planted deep inside of Xander's face!
Lucius could feel the adrenaline and the blood in his body surging, his anger wasn't placated with that blow but only grew even further.
It was a reckless decision but Lucius didn't regret it for a second!
Now that he had decided to fight there was no going back. If he started it he could only go all the way!
Lucius was never a fighter but in that short moment after the attack, the information of a short video he saw online was flashing in his mind.
