Chapter 54 54. Lessons
But it wasn't all bad.
From the fact that Lucius was sitting next to Veronica, it meant that Lady Luck was still smiling on him.
If they hadn't even sat near each other, there would be nowhere for them to even interact and if things were like that, then Lucius wouldn't even know where to start
Before Lucius could be too embarrassed by his fault, His attention was quickly drawn elsewhere
"Now, now, all of you. quiet please."
As the voice rang out, a tall stern faced man walked into the room.
With his presence, no one dared talk any longer.
Even amongst news students, the man's prestige was terrifyingly high.
Mr. Hoffman!
"I hope you have enjoyed your free days and have grown used to the Academy by now, but now is the time to get serious. From here on out your learning starts in earnest!"
In addition to the elected courses, you picked to specifically study. students of the academy will also study the general course. For the heroic class, this includes the history of the kingdom, the history and genealogy of demons and monsters, as well as some basic dungeon theory. There will be practical exams at the end of every term in which the placement of classes could be subject to change. But practicals won't just be limited to the end of term exams they can take place at any time that the academy would deem appropriate, although you will be notified with a minimum of at least a week before any practical takes place in order for you to adequately prepare. This is not a game after all.
Although The Sanctuary will try its best to ensure your safety and that of all of its students, if you yourself are reckless and carefree there's a high chance you will end up dead.
I've seen too many geniuses with amazing talents end up dead because of a moment of simple carelessness."
As Mr. Hoffman spoke, the classroom could feel a slight chill.
Although Mr. Hoffman spoke quite casually, anyone could clearly see that this was a warning for all of them.
No matter how talented you are, don't be overconfident and don't let your guard down!
Mr. Hoffman continued briefing the class on some lesser details about Sanctuary until he finally started with the first lecture of Lucius's academy life
"For the first lecture, I won't go into something too heavy. We will begin with the history of The Sanctuary and the modern function of adventurers and aspiring heroes"
"The history of The Sanctuary began…."
As Mr. Hoffman spoke no one was bold enough to secretly talk.
All that could be heard was the secret scribbling of pens as students were taking notes.
Even if someone was too lazy to take notes they still at least looked forward to at least pretend to pay attention.
For 2 more hours Mr. Hoffman's first lecture continued. There was only a brief break at the end of the first hour before the lecture continued once again. Fortunately, it wasn't too long before the bell rang signalling it was time for the lecture to end.
"Well then class. It's unfortunately time for class to end but I hope you remember what you learned today. I won't be so cruel as to give you an assessment so soon I will still be asking questions on this for the next lesson."
After he said this, Mr. Hoffman packed up his stuff and left the classroom.
Lucius breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed but now that the first lesson was over it was time for him to go to his elected courses.
The one he had this time was swordsmanship training.
Unfortunately, this didn't cross over with either Camilla's or Alice's courses so he could only quickly say hello to them before he went to the training grounds.
It didn't take long before Lucius arrived at the training grounds.
When he walked in, he saw several students already there ahead of time waiting.
Swordsmanship was a popular course so he could see quite a few students from his class there, and it wasn't just students from his class.
Swordsmanship was an elective course so people from other classes were there.
But even if people from other classes were there Lucius didn't think their talents would be too low. Either purple or at the very minimum blue grade talents.
Since they were learning with the monsters from the Hero class, if they didn't have these talents they would not be able to keep up and the gap would only get further and further as time passed. Such a thing wasn't good for anyone.
It wasn't good for the students for the hero class that needed good sparring partners and it wasn't good for the students falling behind, as it could easily affect their mentality and confidence.
But Lucius wasn't sure if things were going to be normal this year, after all, currently, there was a guy that could knock the confidence of most of these so-called geniuses in the hero class anyway.
Lucius looked at Landon, the source of this worry and could see the clear anticipation and eagerness flowing from his eyes.
"Tsk!"
Lucius almost wanted to cuss...
This guy was already so strong and yet he was addicted to training, almost as if it was some drug.
It would be fine if this guy was only slightly talented, but the author went and made him a complete and utterly perfect MC with broken talents.
Just how were regular people supposed to survive!?
As Lucius was having these thoughts a man could be seen walking inside of the room.
It was a lazy looking man with short stubble on his chin and messy brown hair.
He looked at the new batch of students and nodded slightly, seemingly satisfied with the students in front of him.
"Good, good." Commented the man.
"From first looks alone, you guys aren't half-bad, at least you're better than the kids I got last year."
"My name is Mr. Stevens and I will be your teacher of the swordsmanship course for the first year."
