Chapter 163: 162. Old acquaintance
The main branch wouldn't forgive a mere branch family child for damaging the family interests and trying to use them as some sort of cheap hitman
There was now truly nobody they could call for help.
Was this Lucius's plan from the start?
So vicious! So thorough!
Thinking about this, they couldn't help but feel a chill down their spines as the faces of the two brothers quickly turned ugly.
Alice, who was healing them at this time, also noticed the expressions of the two brothers and couldn't help but ask, "Is everything okay? If I made any mistakes, just tell me. I'll do my best to adjust and fix it."
Before they could answer, they saw Lucius's cold, red eyes glaring at them with a deep, menacing light.
They didn't need words to understand the meaning behind them.
If they dared to say anything at this moment, they would not have a good ending.
Realizing this, the two brothers quickly put on strange smiles and responded to Alice, "No! No! There's no problem with the treatment. In fact, the treatment was so good that I couldn't control the expressions on my face and ended up embarrassing myself."
Hearing this, Alice quickly breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing Alice smile, they felt their hearts become a little warmer.
It was at this moment they suddenly felt like crying out:
Just how!
How did such an angel come to be friends with such a demonic pair of individuals? If the Goddess was truly watching from above, as the priests say, she would strike down this demonic pair with divine thunder and prevent this beautiful angel from falling into corruption.
But no matter how devoutly Tyler and Chris prayed in their hearts, Lucius and Camilla still stood proudly, causing the two brothers to slander the Goddess for being blind and partial.
Before their blasphemous thoughts could get any worse, they heard a soft, bubbly voice that brought them out of their stupor.
"Alright! All done!" said Alice.
Hearing this, Lucius smiled as he walked over.
"Thanks for helping my friends out this time. Unfortunately, they have an important meeting with their family, so they won't be able to stay for long and have to go."
Hearing this, poor Chris turned his head to the side, slightly puzzled. "We do?"
"Yes, you do," responded Lucius.
This time, Lucius's voice was filled with a chill that only the two brothers could sense.
Hearing this, Chris's body shivered as he quickly came to his senses. Tyler, looking on, wanted to slap his brother for being so slow and landing them in more trouble.
He quickly said a few words of thanks to Lucius and Alice, but the entire time, his mind was filled with slander.
Lucius, do you think you're slick or something? If you just want to kick us out to hang out with a pair of brutes, you can just say that!
Although the pair of brothers had thousands of words to use against Lucius, not one of them came out of their mouths.
They quickly finished their affairs and left, tears of joy beginning to trickle down their eyes.
They sincerely prayed to the Goddess that they would not have to encounter such a demon again for the rest of their lives.
Lucius ignored the sorry sight of the two fleeing brothers.
"Alice, it must have been very inconvenient for you to come all this way just to help me out in the morning. How about we go out for something? My treat, of course."
"Well… I wouldn't want to inconvenience you though…"
Hearing this, Lucius just smiled.
"Camilla and I were planning on going out anyway. It won't inconvenience us in the slightest if you choose to come along."
As Lucius said this, he heard a soft, cold scoff. If his senses weren't so sharp, he probably would have missed it and it didn't take a genius to guess who it was coming from.
But for his own benefit and sanity, Lucius decided to pretend as if he did notice it anyway.
Hearing Lucius's explanation, Alice's face showed a brief look of hesitation before eventually agreeing.
"Okay then. If it won't be too inconvenient for you, I have no problem going along with you."
Just as Lucius was planning to leave, he suddenly remembered something and spoke.
"Ah! I also have another friend staying behind. I'll ask her if she wants to come along with us as well before we leave."
After saying that, Lucius headed back into the building.
After a short while, Lucius walked back out of the building, but this time he was no longer alone.
As he walked towards Alice, she could see that there was also a beautiful woman clinging to Lucius's arm, and it was someone she was already familiar with.
The barbarian bandit, Reina.
Reina came out in casual attire, her burning crimson hair streaking down her back like a curtain of flames.
Her eyes were calm and carefree, like those of a lazy cat, when they suddenly landed on Alice's face.
Her face showed a look of shock before a rather pleasant smile appeared on her face as she called out.
"Ah! Healer lady! Long time no see. It's a good thing to see a familiar face in the capital again."
Seeing Reina appearing here, Alice was both baffled and shocked.
"Lucius, she… her... how did this happen?"
Seeing Alice's shocked face, Lucius was really embarrassed this time.
Although Lucius brought out Reina, he really didn't expect Alice's reaction to be so strong. Hadn't she already seen him getting it on with Veronica? He just couldn't understand why her reaction was so strong.
Seeing Alice's shocked face, Reina's face curled up into an arrogant smile.
Suddenly she felt a look of satisfaction.
'Even those nobles from Sanctuary can feel jealousy towards me, a commoner, eh?'
Her arm around Lucius's arm tightened, completely enveloping his arm in between the enormous mounds of her chest.
