Chapter 142 142. Wraith Walk

Chapter 142 142. Wraith Walk

Lucius didn't know when, but the spectral clones of Serena had all vanished into thin air but he didn't focus on that and asked the question on his mind

"That… that's just a movement technique alone right? No magic?"

"Of course it is!" Replied Serena confidently

"But although this isn't magic, it doesn't mean this is easy. It could still take several months to reach the level of creating the first spectre for even the talented ones, if you have no talent you may have to work on that step for several years. But the reason I'm teaching you this isn't for that reason anyway, it's all for you to find a way to control your movement."

As Serena spoke her body suddenly flickered as she darted all around Lucius flickering and appearing at any angle. But what made Lucius's eyes truly widen was when she jumped in the air, her movements weren't even affected as if she was still somehow walking on the ground.

It was a complete mastery of movement in every possible dimension!

Serena appeared instantly in front of Lucius as if she were teleporting

"Even though it isn't magic, you are still interested in learning?"

Of course!" Replied Lucius practically unable to contain his excitement

"Well then let's begin. The core of the Wraith Walk is all about mana manipulation and rhythm..."

Like that, Lucius's long and growling training process would soon begin but first came the long bombardment of theory and principles.

....

Roughly a week later

In a private training hall in Sanctuary Academy, a chaotic scene was unfolding.

Inside the training hall, it was mind-numbing.

Shadow bullets were flying all over the place making the scene look something like a heated battlefield.

In the centre of the room stood a jaw-dropping beauty surrounded by the orbs of darkness conducting the scene like a silent general.

A short distance away a man could be seen dodging the countless shadow buckets flying at him.

His figure was constantly shifting around and dodging the bullets that never seemed to stop.

Suddenly shadowy tendrils crawled out of Serena's shadow and rushed towards Lucius along with the flying shadow bullets.

The shadowy tendrils wrapped around Lucius's body only for him to collapse into thin air!

It was just an afterimage!

Lucius appeared a short distance away, almost as if teleporting.

But he didn't stop there and went with the constant stream of shroud orbs heading towards him.

Lucius ran towards Serena.

Naturally, such a blatant charge was met with a swarm of attacks.

At that moment a red spark flashed deep within Lucius's eyes as two shining silver daggers appeared in his hand

A faint layer of lightning spread across his body as a few familiar flickering crimson scales appeared on his face.

Lucius's arms moved at lightning speeds cutting through the approaching shadow orbs and continued to charge forward.

A storm of shadow bullets fell from the sky but Lucius was already shed

Boom!

An explosion of red thunder shook the room as monstrous Lucius completely covered in scales practically teleported forward appearing in front of Serena in just a heartbeat.

The changes were so sudden that even Serena appeared shocked.

But the second Lucius stepped foot on the ground, Serena's shocked face turned into a smug smile.

All of a sudden tendrils of darkness erupted from Lucius's own shadow wrapping around him but right before they truly grasped Lucius he vanished.

Serena felt a sting gust of wind against her neck and quickly turned around to see the burning serpentine eyes of Lucius as his shining daggers lunged for her neck!

Seeing this, Serena finally shook her head and admitted defeat.

"Well done Lucius, you got me this time."

Before Lucius could speak Serena's arm shot out swiftly wrapping around Lucius's limbs and shoulder and before he could even realise what was going on, Lucius was lying down on the floor with a loud thud!

Groaning Lucius rubbed his bow sore shoulder as he got up in the ground mumbling underneath his breath.

"Well, if you treat me like this, it'll be hard for me to believe that I won anything."

Hearing Lucius's mumble, Serena chuckled lightly.

Come on, would you still think like that if I told you you could finally begin learning some dagger techniques?

As soon as Lucius heard this his ears finally perked up.

This is what he had endured this gruelling and brutal training this entire past week for!

Lucius didn't know when but two ink black daggers with a gleaming silver edge appeared in her hands.

"The technique we learned has a simple name, Vortex."

As she spoke she casually stroked her dagger as a complicated light flashed in her eye.

Who would have thought that After all these years of trying to overcome the traumatic experience she lived in that place, she would be going back to that moment to pass on a technique that inflicted so much hatred and damage?

Is it… is it really such a good idea?

Fortunately, Serena didn't stay in that train of thought long before she shook herself out of it.

She looked towards Lucius who was staring at her with an almost childlike eagerness and just smiled

This was a child who wanted to be a hero, that wanted to save people. If anyone deserved to gain such techniques capable of such chaos and destruction, it would be him.

Serena then stuck out her hands and brought the daggers in the open for Lucius to see her demonstration

At the same time, blue tendrils of mana began to reach out for her hand and wrap around the daggers.

Normally these tendrils would be so microscopic it would be impossible to see them, they were only made this size so Lucius could clearly see them and go on to practise the technique.

Slowly these tendrils began to swirl forming a vortex of wind that tightly wrapped around each dagger.

Once this was complete, Serena lightly stuck out her hand but before Lucius could even blink the dagger was already touching his nose
