Chapter 136 136.

It was a despicable tactic. One without any shame or pride but it was the one he had the most confidence in working so Lucius's choir was fixed from the start

Taking a deep breath Lucius Lept out of his sick bed and threw on some Clothes

But before Lucius left he made a quick stop at one of his nearby lockers.

Grabbing some red dye he splashed it all over his bandages whilst also putting some in his mouth to use later for dramatic effect.

Shameless? Most definitely, but at this point, Lucius didn't care.

Game was game.

.....

Shortly after Lucius left the medical ward in a certain office located on Sanctuary's campus a a stunningly beautiful woman with a guilt-ridden expression all over her face was standing in front of a board of senior teachers and staff and Sanctuary and was getting harshly scolded.

The person at the centre of this panel was a person we were all too familiar with.

Mr. Hoffman pushed back his glasses as he tried to contain his exasperation but no matter what he did it was clearly showing through.

"Miss Serena, I hope you are fully aware of the eternity of your actions! Even though you are a person with special status within Sanctuary you are in big trouble now. The matter of knocking out and seriously injuring a student like that is one of the extreme consequences and must be taken seriously. Even if the student was the one to ask for such a duel or challenger in the first place, as a teacher of the best institute in the continent, you should know better and for that reason, it's impossible for you to go unpunished."

Hearing this, Serena meekly looked up as she stuttered a few words

"I…I know. I just don't know what overcame me at that time, I just couldn't control my actions."

Serena more than anyone knew that she had gone too far. It was a complete rookie mistake to let her emotions control her. Even if the effect and curse of the bloody hand were taken into account such actions were still inexcusable. Control of your body and mind were the first basics you would master as an Assassin so letting yourself get riled up by the arrogant words of a student was strange. No matter how she thought about it she couldn't come up with a decent excuse so she could only chalk it up to the fact that she had been retired for several years now.

She really was getting rusty!

But unfortunately for Serena, the board didn't care if she was rusty or not, by the rules of Sanctuary, such actions must be punished!

"Serena," said Mr. Hoffman

"Due to the isolated incident of the crime combined with your special status and past achievements made for Sanctuary, the board has decided to-"

But before Mr. Hoffman could finish his speech there was a loud commotion at the door

"Hey! Wait! You can't just go in there!"

But regardless of whatever the person at the door was saying, the man in question didn't pay any attention to him and continued on.

Soon the giant set of double doors leading to the meeting room swung open, travelling a figure nobody was expecting to see.

A pale faced young man wrapped in bandages with faint traces of blood around his wounds and a set of burning eyes as red as the blood on his body.

Teacher! Please take me as your disciple !"

Seeing this sight, Serena was so stunned she just froze on the spot. And it was not just Serena that was left speechless, all the teachers present on the board including Mr. Hoffman remained completely speechless and just looked at Lucius with a strange expression on their faces.

"Please take me as your disciple! The moves you showed me in the fight only made me more and more certain that you would be the correct teacher for me!"

It was only after hearing Lucius's voice again that Serena snapped out of her stupor.

But instead of smiling, Serena's expression became even more frosty.

Although she felt guilty about her actions, it only made her more certain that she was not fit to be a teacher. There was no way she could be so shameless and continue to teach him after causing him such harm.

"I'm sorry Lucius but regardless of how you feel, I can't teach you those techniques. Not to mention the difficulty. Do you really think someone who can injure you so severely is fit to be your tutor?"

Hearing this Lucius's eyebrows secretly twitched.

'How can this woman still be so stubborn?'

But Lucius wasn't prepared to give up.

Walking closer Lucius carried on

"But teacher how could - cough! Blurgh!"

Before Lucius could finish his sentence he began to cough violently as mouthfuls of blood ejected from his mouth all over the floor leaving all the teachers watching shocked.

Serena in particular was horrified!

The consequences of her rash actions were right in front of her highlighting how much pain she had caused this young student in front of her. Due to her compassionate nature, the guilt was already starting to eat away at her and she didn't hesitate to rush over to Lucius's side

"Silly child! Don't you know that you're injured! How could you rush over here so recklessly."

But before Serena could continue, Lucius broke away from her grip standing up weakly, his legs still shaking

Seeing the sight of such a reckless and fierce determination. Serena was left a little awed.

Looking at Lucius once again she just couldn't help but ask

"Just what is it that pushes you so far to learn these techniques?"

"What pushes me? Well, that's simple. To become stronger!"

Although Serena was a little disappointed with that answer she continued asking.

"And for what reason do you want to become stronger?"

"Well that's even simpler, why would I even come to Sanctuary to save people(Myself)!" Said Lucius resolutely
