Chapter 325 - Do You Not Like It?
Chapter 325: Do You Not Like It?
When Yun Xiangxiang was using Song Mian’s phone this morning, she saw more than ten missed calls in it. Song Mian seemed to be avoiding someone.
Only one person would be in such a hurry to contact Song Mian and get ignored like that: Eric.
When Eric’s man couldn’t find him nor contact him, the only way they could talk to Song Mian was through CX.
Eric did the CX endorsement. Faye might trip them, but business was business; nothing couldn’t be resolved with a little profit.
CX could have used this opportunity of apology to have Eric’s men see Yun Xiangxiang, and by extension, Song Mian.
“You could have asked for more benefits, so why didn’t you?” Song Mian turned and smiled at her.
“I know they will be blaming Faye if I try to ask for more, but they will be dissatisfied with me too.” Yun Xiangxiang held Song Mian’s hands. “It’s better to stop while you are ahead.”
Being too pushy and unforgiving would only bring trouble to her.
Compared to taking everything at one go, Yun Xiangxiang preferred a long-lasting collaboration.
Leaving a great impression so she could use it to her advantage was better than being calculating.
“You have the look of a sly little fox in your eyes,” Song Mian whispered beside her ear.
“I never said I am an innocent little rabbit.” Yun Xiangxiang raised her chin.
“A proud, cunning little fox.” Song Mian gazed at her lovingly.
“Don’t go too far...” Yun Xiangxiang whispered back, warning him that He Wei was in front.
“I don’t mind; you can ignore me,” He Wei replied nicely.
Yun Xiangxiang’s face turned scarlet like a cooked lobster. She moved to the seat near the car window, looking as if she wanted to keep a distance from Song Mian. However, her attempt in hiding it made herself more obvious.
Song Mian didn’t tease her. When they were back at the winery, CX sent Yun Xiangxiang her schedule.
If Yun Xiangxiang was fine with it, the shoot could start tomorrow to end earlier. Yun Xiangxiang had no problem; she asked He Wei to reply to them.
She was determined to not stay with Song Mian at night, but when she went to her room to wash herself up, she was met with her friends’ surprised gazes, and she found out that all her things were missing.
“Where’s my stuff?” Yun Xiangxiang asked.
“They were moved to Song Mian’s place,” Song Meng answered.
“And you just watched them as they moved my stuff?” Yun Xiangxiang glared at Song Meng.
“Didn’t you stay with him last night? I was worried it might be inconvenient for you, so I let them.” Song Meng didn’t think it was wrong.
Yun Xiangxiang massaged her forehead. Now that all her stuff was at Song Mian’s place, she couldn’t just sleep like that.
She couldn’t ask Ai Li or Song Qian to take it for her, so she reluctantly went to Song Mian’s room.
She had her guard up against him as if he would pounce at her. “I have work tomorrow, so don’t try anything funny.”
She took her stuff and went to the bathroom to wash herself up; she even dried her hair in there.
When she saw Song Mian sitting on the bed and reading his book, she went up there with a face full of resolution and covered herself with the blanket.
Now that she was here, it would be too awkward to drag her stuff back to her room. Besides, she spent the night here yesterday.
This small suite only had one big bed. She couldn’t just sleep on the sofa, or Song Mian would be sad.
Song Mian closed his book and turned off the light before hugging Yun Xiangxiang, tugged in the blanket. Yun Xiangxiang tensed up when she felt him hugging her.
Song Mian chuckled. “Go to sleep; I won’t tease you.”
Yun Xiangxiang snorted in disbelief.
“I didn’t let you go to work today because they’ll think they can bully you if you let them go without asking for any compensation after being harmed.” Song Mian explained gently.
Yun Xiangxiang harrumphed quietly. You’re finding an excuse for yesterday’s behavior.
It looked like a perfect explanation, but Yun Xiangxiang knew that wasn’t the case. The truth was Song Mian was childishly jealous.
“You’re the one who’s bullying me.” The more Yun Xiangxiang recalled what happened yesterday, the angrier she got.
Song Mian suddenly breathed on her sensitive ear. “And that’s what I like. Don’t you like it as well?”
Yun Xiangxiang was embarrassed. She couldn’t answer that question.
She couldn’t say she loved it, but if she said she didn’t, Song Mian might do something similar to what he did last night.
She shut up and closed her eyes, taking the ostrich-head-in-the-sand approach.
Song Mian hugged her quietly until dawn arrived before silently going away to make breakfast for her.
His warmth was still there when Yun Xiangxiang woke up, and she enjoyed an excellent breakfast after her morning workout.
“Don’t make breakfast for me.” Yun Xiangxiang munched on the food. “It’s not nice to have a private breakfast, and I don’t want you to make breakfast for all of us. Let’s have what the winery serves after this.”
She wanted him to rest a bit more, but she wouldn’t say that, or else Song Mian would tease her again.
She couldn’t hide her little scheme from Song Mian.
Song Mian nodded with a smile; his voice as soothing as water. “Okay.”
Yun Xiangxiang twitched her ears. Song Mian had an alluring voice, provided that he did not flirt. After having breakfast, Yun Xiangxiang told her childhood friends where she was going before she went to the agreed spot for the ad shoot of CX.
As if traumatized by her capture, Song Mian wanted to go with her.
When she thought of the fact that he had nothing urgent to do after ending his six-month-long work, Yun Xiangxiang allowed him to follow her. She wanted to spend more time with him too.
Since the region for the endorsement had expanded, the work increased too. Every country had their eye for art.
It took them five days to finish shooting. Song Mian would massage her acupoints and brew some medicine to make her energy move more smoothly through the meridians.
The five days’ workload was more than the three-day shoot in SL, but Yun Xiangxiang found this to be a simpler job.
After finally finishing CX’s job, Yun Xiangxiang and Song Mian left the shooting venue. Just as she was going to ask Song Mian to accompany her on a shopping trip, a luxury car stopped before them.
“I want to invite you to dinner,” the old gentleman spoke first.
He was a typical Frenchman and spoke authentic French; he radiated the majesty of a powerful man.
Yun Xiangxiang turned to look at Song Mian. She finally knew why Song Mian was following her; he didn’t want her to be disturbed.
“Not today. I’ll bring my fiancée to visit you tomorrow.” Song Mian rejected the invitation.
The old gentleman looked at Yun Xiangxiang and nodded before rolling the car window up and left.
“He’s Faye’s grandfather.” The old gentleman shared some similarities with Eric.
“En, we have to make it clear to him tomorrow.” She thought by avoiding him and standing their ground would make the old gentleman understand their stance, but they were wrong. They wouldn’t give up unless they made it clear to the Cardicra Family.
